Balled my eyes out. The Dead is the reason I’m still alive today and to have discovered Goose about 5 years ago I never thought they’d take this much of a meaning in my life. What a beautiful moment!
You wrote my sentence but for 3 years on goose. Lol. This made my day after quite a hard time getting through it.
Your “Perseverance” and “Determination” is why you are alive… those bands have only been a soundtrack… you should sing and play and let the world hear your own song.

I love the way Bob plays guitar... and he is my hero for the way he kept the Dead alive after Jerry died. Committed to it more than any other band member hands down
That is ridiculous. Bob was a floater. .. he only made it because of Jerry. He has always been a dumbass.

Well, i make that comment based on two things... hes the ONLY member of the dead who has participated in every lineup of the dead after jerry died. Hes also the only one who has continued the style of live performance that the dead created and stayed true themselves to (2 sets, second set featuring drums/space, he even kept that formula in ratdog. Even keeping the same members to promote a "group sound" as they build chemistry over time. No other band member has done that... so, i think its a pretty safe argument to say Bob has been the true hero of leading the dead on post Jerry and keeping it moving along / evolving while also maintaining the traditions....
@@MatthewMaurySmith true. He's also used vendors who jack prices set high and give first dibs to brokers, not in true dead spirit. The marketing of dead merchandise and music are sellout also. I appreciate the continuance of the scene, but I question his motives

Thank God for Bob Weir. A true inspiration. I read someone’s comment about him keeping the Dead alive and his commitment. Many people have dissed him over the years. I remember people being upset about him singing Jerry’s vocals years ago. I have always felt Jerry’s presence when Bobby is on stage. We are so lucky to have this man. If you get confused just listen to the music play. Beautiful Peggy O is a prime example. 💚
Yes!! Good to hear people like us stand up and tell it like it is... the Bob hate and now Deadco hate from so called deadheads exposes them as.... not really true "deadheads"!!! Anybody can go to a bunch of concerts.
Peggy-O is such a good song. One of them English ballads, I think.
A genuine kind and stand up friend like Weir is a rare treasure. TY Bob, for setting an example of how to walk this earth in harmony with so many.
@@heynow01 exactly. He walks the walk more than any fan or musician i know. And he keeps his body in excellent shape as well. Another reason he can still get up on stage in another city or Island just about every other week or less. What character. An amazing star that is shining strong.

I've always been of the opinion that Bob Weir can do whatever the fock he wants, if for no other reason than he was in the damn band since day uno. I don't get that into everything he's done GD related since '95, but even as diehards for whom various aspects of the GD pantheon has deep deep meaning, who are we to pass judgment on what direction Weir decides to steer his ship on any given day? i'm not a big Dead+Co fan, so I don't listen to it, easy peasy, but more power to Weir for keeping it alive to touch as many people as he can
So happy their paths finally crossed on stage. This makes me smile, smile, smile.

On the night of the Day of the Dead in a graveyard in Oaxaca, I sang this song softly to myself in memory of Jerry Garcia.
Rick will never forget this, and neither will we. What a legendary song to play, with such a legendary fellow.
I don't know why but when I hear Peggy O it brings tears to my eye. Always think about those epic Jerry Peggy O's and cure the existence of that evil drug heroin. What it did to Jerry's health.

Really good stuff. I like how Bobby has morphed into this kind of old NorCal surfer dude, like one of the guys that was out there at Ocean Beach without a wetsuit and a really beat-up old seven and a half-foot board. I tell you, his voice has improved as the years have gone by.

Wow, wow and wow. Amazingly beautiful. Crying my eyes out. Bobby is always wonderful and Goose is wonderful as well. My 4 year old grandson would listen to nothing else but Goose when he was a baby, so he turned me on to them. The Dead has been, is, and will always be my favorite. So many memories!
This rendition gave me goose bumps no pun intended.
Wanting to hear Peggy O by the Dead for the millionth time, and I found this. This is fantastic; and if you are a musician, you can appreciate how exciting this must have been to play with Bobby. The guitarist was doing what I would be doing, just standing there in awe like "holy shit, this is my 'I made it moment"...great job, guys...I'm now a fan!

For a little background: Goose was only supposed to play this night of PITS, so a lot of people “saved up” their energy for Dead and Co and didn’t come this night (comparatively to the rest of PITS, anyways).
I know it seems noisy in the beginning, but during this, especially with such an intimately small audience, I swear you could hear a pin drop. Best performance of my lifetime, hands-down.
What a peak, full-moment performance. I think most people, myself included, had no choice but to sit in awe with silent tears strolling down our faces. Watching them interact with each other was so wholesome and heartfelt. Very touching moment that words can’t quite describe; like listening to magic.

Magical moment I’ll never forget standing on the beach in Mexico with my bestie, crying and singing along. Life long dead head and a good buddy turned me onto Goose a couple years back. Simply awesome to watch them sore, caught a couple shows in ‘22 will definitely hit a few in ‘23 and of course see D&C on the last run. Thank you for posting!!! Keep the groove alive and well ❤

W O W ! ! ! ! played so many times…so many gigs over the years and this is LEGENDARY … This song is a spin off of Bob Dylan Pretty Peggy O song, and Robert Hunter wrote the words not jerry or bob. I was looking down not looking just hearing and my goose bumps came on O MY .. wtf is that? what a performance…. and this song is not high on my list for dead tunes. Wow tears. I couldn’t believe it. I am just hanging in LA so I wasn’t there.
Not a Dylan spinoff...this song goes back to like the 1500's. Lots of people have taken a stab at it, each with their own spin, but it's a traditional tune passed down over the centuries.
