Read where it had these several different parts, none of which are a damned bit like the other parts. Looks (to the naked ear) less complicated than it is. Always loved it.
This is a YEM that I will consistently come back to, and it's pretty funny that it's not one Phish played. The level of musicianship on this stage right here is simply incredible. Did anyone pick up at 10:26 when the one women randomly suggests that the two vocal lines should be place in series? Such an improvisational spirit throughout the entire song. Bring this arrangement on tour Trey.
Thank you, Trey! Beautiful! Loud applause roared throughout houses everywhere upon hearing this! I had to plug in the big speakers once I heard these sweet notes. Halfway thru, when singing starts and everyone is jamming, so good! I'm a Stagehand, out of work for months and still wondering when the next job will be, but this puts me at ease hearing this wonderful version. Gave me back that good groovy feeling. Brought it up to another level! I sure wish local bands were doing this kind of gig! I look forward to taking the day off to watch next time Phish comes to town. Wonderful!
This old phan is very happy right now, thank you trey and company 👍. I've seen a lot of versions of this, and I've heard a lot more on tape, bit I've NEVER seen one like this before.
I could not believe when the show opened with YEM! Every week I think that show was my favorite, and then the next week gets even better! Thank you so much, Trey, Rescue Squad and Angel's 3!
The gals' background vocals also adds a unique, different layer - as does delving straight into the Jam (missing that 2nd "Wash Uffizi..." verse) was a really impactful change. Overall, simply WOW!! After my 3rd listen, I can say this one is a YEM masterpiece!! Love the voice jam!!
thank you thank you thank you for putting this one up. I was in my car (almost home) when this started; I had the twitch stream playing on my phone - wasn't watching it, only listening, don't worry anyone. I'm not ashamed to admit I screamed when this one started. This was incredible! And yeah, the full band join got another one out of me. I love this song.
Omg with strings sounds amazing!!! I miss live music so much, and this just made me miss it that much more. There isn't anything he doesn't do well, for real!! Thank you Trey!!
Strings!! I absolutely can't get enough of this YEM version. Listened to it over and over on live phish site yesterday! I hope this string quartet becomes a regular thing with TAB!
Best song ever written by a 20 yr old kid. He got the strings funky, outro was amazing, before vocal jam. Strings in vocal jam were cool as well. Great arrangement.
I would love to be on a slay ride with this song playing! The real feel of christmas! Thank god for Trey, ray, mike, page, jen etc! I love you guys and the truly awesome music and epic voices!
Astonishing sonic beauty for the set opener! I DO in fact Enjoy Myself @Trey Anastasio. Thank you once again for all that you are and all that you do. I've not taken these Friday nights for granted.
The more I watch and listen to this video, the more I enjoy it. It's become a classic to me, like the version from 'A Live One'. There are some incredible nuances, like the end of guitar sustained notes in the composed section (that delay!), the groove during the funk section, the way strings fit in the funk section (amazing!)... Tuscany is 'red zone' right now, but as soon as it will be upgraded to 'yellow zone' I'll drive me to Firenze, wash the Uffizi (Giotto, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Raffaello...) and enjoy myself.
That was absolutely beautiful and just goes to show how brilliant of a band Phish is, to create such amazing music that it can easily be scored for an orchestra. Just stunning!
Little Bro... it is stunning, but it's not music easily played by an orchestra. It requires the talent of orchestra people to even try to play. That is the point.
Alright nerds, how does he bend the pitch downward on those really fast hammer-ons around 11:20 without a whammy bar? I've heard him do this for years and have never been able to figure it out
This has got to be one of the most versatile songs ever
Read where it had these several different parts, none of which are a damned bit like the other parts. Looks (to the naked ear) less complicated than it is. Always loved it.
This and Twinkle Twinkle Lil Star!
Man that string arrangement is just incredible. Adds such a different layer.
rescue squad!
That's the work of the brilliant Don Hart. He is one of the best in the business and has been working with Trey for over a decade now. Amazing stuff!
Nice & SMOOTH!! 👌❣️
Rest in peace Tony. Your basslines gave me a lot of joy in the winter lockdown.
You hear a song a hundred times, then you hear it the 101st -- and -- and -- !!

This comment is one of the reasons I love Phish fans so much. I have watched this so many times, but hadn't picked up on that. Amazing
Fundamental observation, Nathan. Attababe.
She tried to fill the hey hole. Nice. They followed...
Bro.. bring the band and orchestra together ❤ please?!
Young Trey: this will be fun to play live 25 years from now.
Trey Now: this will be fun to play 25 years from now.
I wonder how many times I will listen to this before I die 🤷🏻♂️
I’ve been listening to these Beacon flips for four days straight! This is the best music out there right now hands down!
its very good, you may need a little more spices in your cabinet there though bud
That moment when the full band comes in!
Seriously, it first gave me the chills then caused me to well up a bit. Super awesome.
@@mbenskey Welled up a little right now too. Had to check the comments to make sure I'm not weird... I fucking love good music.
literally came here to say I cried. looks like I'm not alone! lol
Tears of healing
goose bumps! awesome!
The back up singers and the strings just add that just extra sauce that takes a great song to outter reaches of awesome my new favorite
First YEM in years that made me cry. Fucking beautiful.

With this arrangement it kinda felt like hearing yem for the first time all over again.
visions of high school lol
I know what you mean! 😻
Absolutelt
We literally never heard it before this arrangement
I'm in tears again.
Okay, that was awesome!! I second what another comment(er) said: 'This kinda felt like hearing YEM for the first time all over again.'

the beginning of this is probably the only time where ive ever wanted treys guitar a bit louder in the mix
The ONLY time??
He's pulling back because he's botching it left and right
Hes just playing more orchestrated than he used to because hes playing in that realm. I am enjoying these sessions regardless. Boy woman....hahahaha
@@eliju420 aint that the truth
@@eliju420 When was the last time Trey nailed a YEM? '96?
I could not believe when the show opened with YEM! Every week I think that show was my favorite, and then the next week gets even better! Thank you so much, Trey, Rescue Squad and Angel's 3!
I do the same thing..every week I think "this was just the best..no way they can top it" and every week I'm delightfully wrong!!
Needs more trampoline.
Right on time and just as good as it sounded the first time over 20 yrs ago!
Thank you Trey, for somehow, in this unspeakably bizarre and often sad year, keeping the dream alive and moving forward.
Thanks Trey.

My favorite jam with a string quartet !!?? What!? This is a phenomenon. I love it. Thank you. It felt like a gift to see this up and hear this. Wow.
Half way through and I’m blown away!…What a beautiful rendition!
It's still weird not to hear even one clap of applause after something like that.
I feel like that add's a unique level of intimacy !
It’s eerie
Was cheering and clapping from home!!!
I felt that too
Needs more trampoline.

Daaaamn. This makes me feel joyful in a pre March of 2020 sorta way......feels right nice!
That arrangement and production is sweet with the band coming out at the drop for the ‘jam’. Pretty epic!
Omg with strings sounds amazing!!! I miss live music so much, and this just made me miss it that much more. There isn't anything he doesn't do well, for real!! Thank you Trey!!
Chills from the opening note. This is beyond amazing. Rescue Squad have got to tour with TAB following this residency!
TAB? I wanna see the squad with pppppphhhhhhhiiiisssshhhh! And horns. Always more horns.😂
@@jmholt11 Try to be less clueless going forward.
It's just nice having someone out there making music for the people👍
Strings!! I absolutely can't get enough of this YEM version. Listened to it over and over on live phish site yesterday! I hope this string quartet becomes a regular thing with TAB!
I've got to say, these beacon sets have led to some pretty special arrangements.
Excellent! Very lively and happy 🎉🎉
This is a magical version of this great song.
Really cool hearing this getting the orchestral treatment! Beautiful
Great!!well mixed!!you are all wonderful! Good vibe!!thank you at all!
Absolutely beautiful and fun! Cheers to each and every musician! Pure musical enjoyment of yourselves over here!
I see what you did there 😃
Trey just keeps finding new ways to make his music better
boy man, it just keeps getting better.... love & light y'all
So rad, last live show I saw was TAB in Austin earlier this year...missing this.
Me too. NoLa tour closers was last shows I saw. Huge hole in my life.
My jaw is on the floor after that end vocal "jam". Holy cow Trey. Holy cow.
I was not expecting but glad it was received.
absolutely incredible stuff. Trey is a genius.
Sensational. Imagine what that would sound like if that ensemble had played that 1-2000x before.
This holds up! :)
Second time through right now. Percussion player has a lot of fun!
Best song ever written by a 20 yr old kid. He got the strings funky, outro was amazing, before vocal jam. Strings in vocal jam were cool as well. Great arrangement.
Overwhelmingly beautiful, groovy and uplifting!!!!!!!!!!!
Freaking EPIC! After a long week of work, this is what I needed to push me through the next day and half of it. Heck yeah!

YEM was the track that got me into Phish in the first place. And this made me fall in love all over again.
Can we get a Guyute with this arrangement?
Yes please.
So many chills listening to this.

This makes me soooo happy it's funny.
One of the greatest things I've ever seen/ heard
Thank you Trey.

Epic version. So much groove!
I think phish should tour with the 3 background singers for a NE leg.

That was amazing & different. Strange not to hear of course, Cactus, Leo & Fish. But I liked it. Thanx for posting this.
I would empty my kid's college savings to watch this lineup on tour in 2021!
I’m hoping that’s what next summer is!
Me too ! These have been SO wonderful
Lol you gotta at least take them! Education of a different but equally important nature 😉
This ensemble and let’s add Mike page and fish
Only of they include the Giant Country Horns as well!
