I remember the chamber quite well, I was in the back row so I was there for an eternity (we had a pretty big division) and even with the mask on properly you can still kind of feel the fumes creeping in, so yeah, not fun lol
Agreed
I look back and chuckle at the confidence chamber from my experience in the Air Force. I initially thought it wasn't too bad until I was leaving and I couldn't get the door open.
You're doing an excellent job with this series. It's an interesting video, but watching it along with an experience RTC is nice to broaden the horizons some more.
Thanks for all the videos that you’re doing I have a son who’s in great lakes at this moment and your videos and commentary really help me feel like I know what’s going on and that I am supporting him in someway… Thank you so much for your hard work!
Glad I could help!
Been watching your videos religiously these past few days. Thank you lots, im shipping out today to bootcamp so all this advice and just a different perspective calms me down. Sincerest gratitude 💪
Best of luck!
Yeah I went through MA school and the OC spray was definitely the worst part 😂
My RDCs just laughed at us the whole time we were in the chamber
Po Zhou was a hell of an instructor at marlin aggressive but took pride in the job and the work
In my day we still had the old MCU-2P masks. The ones we used in boot were all yellow in the eye area from being cleaned with iodine so often. Or maybe that's just how they were, don't know since on subs we didn't use them.
Did you like your time as a submariner?
I'm shipping out on a few weeks. Thanks for all the informative videos.
i still have the scar from when i got beratta bite at bootcamp
That was me, I was the guy with bad seal, in the very back of the chamber, almost vomited
My man back with the gold
These are great videos, very informative! Thank you and I hope you make many more! Hooyah Navy!!⚓️
Glad you like them!
The one knot that is suppose to be simple I still cannot do. That’s a bowline knot.
I forget it all the time
@@askardc I had a boatswain mate first class get mad because someone forgot on my first command. They taught us how again, however, I later forgot it again. Then struck a Seabee rating and never saw a ship again.
One thing I've always been curious air the Navy. If there a particular reason that they display their rate like BM1 vs referring to them as just Petty Officer?
Lmao yeah I was an ma went to lacklland we fought the red man we did it with security forces
3:02 That’s a funny joke but nobody would know by your delivery.
Are they bringing 800 divisions back I’ve heard they were
I’m going through the process of enlisting, I actually go to MEPS next week and I’m worried because I’m 30 it’s nerve wrecking. I picked a few rates any info on BU? Getting yelled at and and stuff doesn’t bother me I’ve been an AT&T store manager for 2 years so working under stress I’m not worried about just PRT😵💫
You should be fine. I go over this in more detail on a video called "answering your questions". I do not have personal experience as a SeaBee. But as long as you can focus and are generally fit, you should be fine
We had guys almost pushing 40 when I went over a decade ago. One 39-year old calculus professor from an african country. He was better shape than 95% of us tho. Haha.
@@askardcI actually picked OS instead, do you know if it’s hard?
@@B.Threatts Oh wow that was my rate. Hard? Hell no. It's an underway rate so you don't really do your job until your underway aka out to sea. Standing watches. Most rates like that but OS chill in port while others try-hard too look busy even though their underway rates as well. Got out of work by 2 PM when in port. Was a vacation compared to working in deck department which I did for 2 years. Miserable place with miserable people. Everyone will hate your guts because their rates suck in comparison. Haha.
@@goldman77700thank you for the insight! I go to MEPS tomorrow to ship out on the 31st. Any insight on A school?
What’s the typical fail rate you’ve seen for small arms qualification in boot camp?
I ship November 21, and have never fired a weapon before. I was wondering if it would be worth it to pay for some instructions at a private range, prior to shipping out.
Why you worried about the fail rate? Just go in there with a willingness to learn and let them mold you.
@@slightslice3120 Because I don’t want to be held back due to my aim being terrible. Similar to how it’s encouraged to work out prior to boot camp so the pft is a breeze
@@whenhen you’re overthinking it shipmate… it literally just a hand gun and a shot gun, if you can’t qualify or worried about it then you probably shouldn’t enlist🤷🏾♂️ they will teach you everything you need to know if you let them.
Don't overthink it. They will teach you everything you need to know of your weapon. The more you overthink it the more likely it will mess with you. Go in with a fresh mind, listen to what the RDCs tell you, and pay attention to details.
The gun range was shut down when I was there literally last month because a recruit shot themselves in the leg. Don't know if they opened it back up.
I have a question do we get any bonus for completing Boot Camp?
@eduardomorla, no, there is no bonus for completing boot camp. Any bonus you would possibly earn needs to be written in your contract prior to leaving. Over the last year the only bonuses offered: particular ratings, shipping, college credit, high school shipping bonus, and the LRP (Loan Repayment Program) 👍
Thank you, I appreciate it.
What week do you take the final PFA?
Week nine
Yes, but best to be prepared before you even ship.
