You may already know this and not find it very practical, but you can use the psychic dominator on your own troops like the battle fortresses so that they cannot be mind controlled.

Best way to drop in and ruin a base is a Picard Maneouvre -> Launch nuke, start weatherstorm, chrono a 3x3, psychic dominate, then iron curtain before the nuke and storm land.

I'm aware this is an old video, but a tip to avoid being overwhelmed by enemy Yuri, have your friend mind control your Battle Fortresses (you do the same to his/hers) - they'll then be immune to being taken by enemy Yuris.

Excellent vid. Thanks for taking the time to edit it down and commentary. The sitting rocketeers - you pulled them back when flaks came in, but all didnt move so you had to do another select and move them out. A couple of tactics missing - an engi IFV for your Battle Fortresses as they were so important. Also, turtling up your base with flak and gattling - so much money and easy power would have been quite easy.
Thanks for the link, I'll be trying this out, always loved survival maps in RTSs and I'll be trying out my own strategy ideas.
I don't know how feasible this would be to pull off, but I've actually used Kirovs for defense before. If you tell them to force fire on a patch of ground, they literally just sit there and spam bombs on that patch of land. A possible approach would be to build some of them and have them target the land on which the waves spawn. Then the units would die before being able to move. It would obviously depend on how "smart" the AI is on the map. If anti-air units ignored the Kirovs to immediately head for a different target, it might work. You could then have some Battle Fortresses surrounding the spawn point to clean up any stragglers or air units that get away.
The long forgotten days where Bryan considered a 40 minute video to be too damn long 😂. That map looked brutal!
In Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance there is a mode of survival with teams: they start at opposing sides of map and enemy spawns in middle. To win, you have to survive longer than the opposite team. It very amusing :)

I still haven't beaten it yet but mass apocalypse tanks and rocketeers and prism tanks did well for me. I just keep getting overwhelmed by the battle fortresses and masterminds...
I tried a a few times and found myself swatted like flies by the 20th minute at best. Indeed an incredible challenge to beat alone, I think I'll call it off and find a friend to complete it together.
I would recommend mass control towers and put all the units in recycle once the wave ends for cash. Mass air units to defend against mind control tanks and slowly push up to their spawn point to dry bomb the place so that they get bombed right out of the gate.

i have a quick question. Can you mind control a battle fortress with a yuri in it? then if so, what happens to the previously mind controlled units by the battle fortress? TIA

It would be nice if one could auto-assign units to a specific team once they spawn from their building. It would make organisation easier.

Do Mirage Tanks work differently in YR? I never see streamers use them against AI even though if you leave them static to defend the AI basically just ignores them/can't see them.

I'll be playing it on cnc. Second or thrid real try I made it till about 31 minutes left... then it becomes sick.
Hm now I made it to 10 minutes, but I died when they send masterminds and then the kirovs and loads of choppers... I got lucky finding a soviet mcv in a crate (I was britain) so this allowed me to make a few nuke plants. Helps a lot.
I found it works best to plant a bazillion mind control towers at the entrance, build some battle bunkers to put the apocalypse tanks in and have a lot of yuris in the battlefortress tanks and have a load and another load of rocketeers.

How do you get so high framerates?? Back when I played the game, the survivor maps would spawn 200 tanks and then you're down to 2 frames per second - even on a 3.5-4GHz CPU and new graphics card. At least in Multiplayer (never bothered to play survivor maps alone).
Did you get the game from origin, or one of the old original disks from back in the day? I have both.
it depends on what renderer you use, the default renderer is pretty slow. Try CnCNet, it has a selection of renderers.

Hey guy's --- I just downloaded the map and changed it .yrm Right thats what i do? - were do i move it so i can find it in game.
I miss playing RA2 & Yuri's Revenge but what the actual f*** is this kind of game this is so ridiculous I wanna play it! hahaha xD This is madness! :D If only I have a chance playing this with or without friends damn this game challenge accepted!

My suggestion to you (unless I counted wrong), is that you should to build more unit factories . Building speed of units increase until the cap of 8 unit factories are reached, this also includes Construction Yards!

If you are still wondering about it the flak track was loaded with a kirov somehow (maybe more than one kirov) and when the flak track got destroyed the kirov got destroyed as well and since the kirov has high health it exploded into a ton of scrap metal

you may find that building a LOT more than just 2 psychic towers would serve you well. just constantly send the MCed units to the grinder to keep em zapping more units to your side
NoReXx I was wondering about the same thing. Those towers also provide construction zones so you can just lay out the towers. But then he usually plays RA2 not YR.
gap generators give construction radius, its news to me that psychic towers do the same
NoReXx it is very small, but you can lay psychic towers all the way to enemy base

How do you get this game to work like that on windows 10
I have a Win 10 laptop. Not very powerful and it does work. Sometimes there's a little lag at the start of the game and you may only be able to play 1 game and then have to quit and reboot the game, but while you're actually playing, there's very few problems.
Good job m8… no way could I have done that… though I find myself extremely curious how a fleet of aegis cruisers would've stacked up to all the aerial threats coming at you lol…I've stacked 8 elite cruisers against a stack of 3 Kirovs and the Kirovs get raped up down and sideways… just served em dinner (missiles) then fucked em lmao so I wonder what they could do against a huge massive aerial assault lol

I recent play it was to easy i don't know why yellow make gap generators vs an AI, the most harder survival maps are disabled all the air units like the last one i upload it, but i have two maps that i never win in my life because i need 3 hard core players in my team, is hard to find hard core players sometimes.
chronosphere a helicopter or any other with an engineer to the back of the base and destroy it from there it will be much easier later on

You needed more mixed compositions of IFVs for that later air assaults, or flak trucks since those things are fast enough.
But a solid wall of Rocketeers would do anyone a peace fo mind.

I actually managed to finish this by cheating a little bit ( haha 😅✌️). Anyway, you might find it interesting using flak trooper + battle fortress combo for those air attacks. 🙂

Is there a reason you don't use Prism towers? I haven't played this game in 10 years at least, but I remember placing them everywhere. My go to strategy when attacking was sending in 5 prism tanks behind 3 battle fortresses filled with 1 Seal and Guardians. Anytime an enemy clumped their tanks together, they got chronosphered into the ocean. What a fun time this game was.
IamTheSherm I just saw your comment now and I know it’s been a year but answering your question, the prism towers are not recommended for when you stack them side by side they just magnify a single beam onto one unit and you can see that they don’t attack with one unit they attack with plenty so it wouldn’t be practical.
