Hi everyone! Today I'm starting a new Red Alert 2 Series: Top 5. In this series I'll be breaking down the "Top 5" ways you can improve various aspects of your game with a guide/tutorial/how to commentary; today we'll be talking about money management in the game.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 2 is a real-time strategy video game by Westwood Pacific, which was released as the follow-up to Command & Conquer: Red Alert. Red Alert 2 picks up at the conclusion of the Allied campaign of the first game. Its expansion is Command & Conquer: Yuri's Revenge.
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2 contains two playable factions, the Soviets and the Allies, which both previously appeared in Command & Conquer: Red Alert. The single player campaign is structured in an alternate-ending mode as opposed to a progressive story mode. However, I much prefer to play online in a competitive setting as Iraq (soviet) and sometimes allied as either America or Korea. Thanks for watching!

RA2 was my favorite game. Love these videos. You aren't annoying like all the other RUclipsr's that do game commentaries. Your channel has potential. Create some playlists categorizing by game, upload at a consistent schedule and just keep making solid content like this and you'll be doing very well! I hope you keep these coming!

I have some questions:
- Doesn't base walking make a very vulnerable base to stealth attacks (spies, engineers, chrono legions)
- Can you show us a big game, where Battle Lab units play the lead role of the game.
- Are you willing to play with your subscribers sometime?
Good work, I love this game but no one uploads videos anymore, especially with commentary.
***** I am asking, because back in the day I used to win only with dirty tactics. The allied transport chopper can't be detected by the radar, you loaded it up with Tanya's/ Engineers and deploy them in their MCV. Also, you can have some structures ready and deploy them immediantly next to the captured building.
Not really a dirty tactic, it's part of the game. It makes your opponent have to account for yet another strategy. Maybe next time they put a lot of air and ground defense next to their construction yard. Your strategy is clever and would definitely upset opponents, but it's not dirty!
@@crazycodkiller Definitely not a dirty tactic. The whole point of the game is find ways to damage your opponent using the least amount of resources as possible.
One thing I always did to prevent this was just build walls around key structures that didn't produce units, like the MCV, battle labs and oils. Cheap way to stop that tactic.
It’s also important to note that the first time an oil Derrick is captured, it gives 1000 resources, so you immediately get the cost of training an engineer’s worth, and then some. When you recapture the derrick from another player, there is no bonus.
Need more instructionals (like build order or counters), coming back to this game I was way over my head against people who've never left it. Keep up the good work!

Others have mentioned it already, but just going to point it out for the sake of it. :)
In this video the music was a bit too loud at certain times.

a thing to remember with oil derricks is that you get $1000 when you first capture them but if anyone else captures it from you, they don't get that initial money. If you put engineers in all the oil derricks right at the beginning of the game, you make $500 profit per oil derrick (lose a $500 engineer but gain $1000 form initial cash bonus = $500) and you've also denied your opponent getting that $1000 if they then send engineers to capture your oil derricks. On maps like bay of pigs, which has something like 20 oil derricks, that initial engineer rush can quickly swing the game in your favor.
I've actually been playing C&C since the first Red Alert, but not competitively.. I've never heard the phrase "Base Walk", I've always tried to keep the REST of my base as protected as possible, walling off places of ingress & setting up a multitude of base defenses around my camp to make it more difficult for my enemies to do any real damage.. Then again, I've been playing against bots, soooo.... 🤣🤣

there are two mods: one on CNCnet and one here on RUclips. I dont know which one is better :p
when you do top 5 / tutorial videos like this i think you shoud turn down the music down a bit because i feel like what are you talking about is more important than the music. 3:11 i think the music is to loud . Ps: i rally like your work that you are putting in your chanel keep it up !

Base walking is probably the most essential part of multiplayer survival
I'm currently playing thru the Tiberium Sun campaigns right now and base-walking silos to tiberium or to place an EMP cannon within range of a defensive line is really helpful and funny too.

I use to play this alot. I noticed that many time you build an ore factory get a miner then sell the factory. I am surprised you didnt touch on this because you do it often.
Tech oil derricks also instantly grants 1000 dollars to the first person to capture it so it's really important to get them first.

nah if this was spirit of the law he would make a 30 min video alone about how effective it is going for the close gold or letting your miners go a longer way for the gems and ofc alot more numbers ;p
I think this is the closest we will get of a RA2 spirit of the law.

i once completed the yuri's revenge allied campaign mission where you have destroy the grinders in la with only using basewalk and i did it byt using grand cannons and power generators
(i have a challange for you: complete the whole yuri's revenge dlc using only basewalk)

-conquer as many orefields as you can
-capture first the oildericks for 1000 instant cash
how to zoom out in the game the camera is too close ((
*Ra2: Yuri's revenge:* get Allies CC and build Spies with clone vats then change them into a expensive unit and put them in the grinder = infinite money.
THIS is hands down the best money maker, but also the hardest, since u need an enemy of the Allies and build a building in your base or get lucky with a crate.
It sucks building smart and building pretty aren't allined

i could be wrong but I used to park a tank on a gem field or ore field so the gems or ore never gets completely depleted.... it is this true?
Steven Harvey no, but the ore miner cannot mine when tank above the ore, but after move the tank, your ore miner can collect huge gold

#1 u can basewalk or u can just move mcv (also works, because u cant basewalk on all maps).
not all modes lets you move MCV :D

I've been messing the ini codes for the game in years but there is a "flag" that gives an idea of "Credits in first capture"... and mostly oilderricks are given 1000 credits for the ones who first capture it...
so you are basically at least more motivated to capture oil derricks earlier in the game...
Thought it was cheaper to build a second refinery and sell it for the second miner
