Same. When I was 19 I started to let it go and I was so happy how my hair felt and looked, it was a game changer lol I was wondering why I never just let it go when I was in middle school and how gross my hair actually felt in that time LOL ew!

I love how she demonstrated how the donts would affect your curls instead of just saying how it would. Really illustrated how it would look like. Appreciate the effort!
Mine is to because i have a very different hair texture.Like mousse its a big no no for my hair and the denman brush makes my hair curls even tighter, wich i dont like. my hair is 3c/4a.
It's crazy how much I didn't know about taking care of my hair type. I was the only one in the family with curls when I growing up, so I was taught to take care of my hair the same way someone with straight or slightly wavy hair would. I just thought that the problem was my hair type, that the reason why my hair always looked so horrific was just because that's how my hair is. After watching your videos and other youtubers with similar curls, I know now that my hair isn't "unmanageable" or "difficult", it just takes different techniques to deal with it. It's definitely been a self-esteem boost to find out that my hair isn't "bad hair", like I thought my entire life! ♥️

The most shocking thing is that my hair looks exactly like the "Don't" result. I didn't know I was doing so much wrong 😅 thank you for showing us the right way!
I just now decided to look how to properly do my hair cause it's always in a bun, my mom would either put it in a ponytail or braid cause even though her hair is also curly she always wore it short which was good as a kid but now I want to learn different styles
My parents didn't know how to treat curly hair so I grew up hating mine. After years of straightening my curls since middle school, I'm now 29 and trying to embrace my curls. I haven't straightened my hair in just over a year and I'm already noticing a massive difference in hair quality! My hairs grown twice as fast and it's gotten super freaking curly since I first stopped straightening. Now to cut off the straighter damaged ends and follow your tips! Maybe my hair will look this gorgeous someday! Thank you for this video! 😭💕
The don’ts are literally what I do with my daughters hair and I feel so bad now! I was thinking I had the wrong products but it’s me just ruining her hair 😭
Oh no! Don't feel bad - you tried your best! My mom would always blow dry the heck outta my hair and force it into a sort of a bob, so you're already doing a lot better than that 😂 How does her hair look now?
@@mollytaylor8122 it’s looking a little bit better. We still have some work to do. Still having a hard time with the frizz though and making sure it stays looking healthy and moisturized.
I think it's so wonderful that you're doing research on how to do your daughter's hair! Something that has helped reduce frizz near the top for me is making sure to blow dry my roots first (cold air with diffuser directly against scalp). A soggy scalp = frizzy crown!
Thank you! Im going to try this way. Usually i can only get my hair to look this good if I'm lucky and the weather is just right and my hormones are balanced and the sun and moon are in perfect alignment
I tried the do’s and my hair is so curly all the way around my head my curls are starting at the top of my head instead of ear level the brushing method really helped my hair looked like the dont side ever since middle school now it’s full of volume and bigger
I am 35 and have never done anything to my curls but add water! This is huge in helping me to make my hair way less frizzy and defining my curls at the roots. Thank you so much for this video! I am also buying my first diffuser today❤
The don'ts are not exaggerated. I have a white mother and a non-white father so I grew up clueless about my curls and the wet, greasy side of your head was me age 12. Even in my 30s I'm still learning. Thank you for your service to Type 3s!
Tips for me: Don't apply so much mousse Pull the brush away from the scalp instead of dragging down Scrunch the mousse in Hover the diffuser around and then lightly shake it, don't touch your hair, don't separate them, don't put it on the scalp Don't touch them until they're completely dry
I recently bought some John Frieda Curl Mousse. Can't wait to try it on my next wash day!I really appreciate your channel.I've learned that PATIENCE is really one of the key rules for beautiful curls.
Great video, thank you. I do have 2 questions if you don’t mind: 1 - how often do you do this styling? 2 - can I just air dry my hair? Because I don’t like using a hair dryer.
Girl can I just say that you are so gorgeous! Your eyes are wow! (‘: i can’t wait to try your tips! ! I’ve had curly hair my whole life and I never realized how bad Im styling my hair! 😂😭
haha, yeah I guess, but I had very frizzy hair that I didn't think was curly but after researching apparently if you have a frizz you can achieve a curl and now after following lots of tips I have super curly hair!!!
This is genuinely the best curly hair video I've seen, a couple essential products and good techniques rather than an expensive list of creams gels and mouses. Thank you so much for making this
I will also say that another important part of curly hair is having a good, dynamic cut. As you can see with her hair, she has a variety of layers in her hair, a mixture of short and long. I think this contributes a lot to definition and body in curly hair
I got anxiety just watching the "dont's"....but eeek, I see that I am making a few of those mistakes. So thanks for this video, it was super helpful. You and your curls are gorgeous!
I’ve been watching all of your videos and for the first time in 58 years I’m going to finally give in to my curls and try to start embracing them instead of straightening them every day! Thanks for all the great videos.
the amount of work for this video deserves a recognition 👏 I have straight-wavy 01-02 hair. I actually love to make my hair frizzy because after I create curls they look like dirty hair, so I brush it a little to create that frizzy texture that nobody wants :))) and that creates a volume for me
Ikr, i did the same mistake my entire life and i regret doing it. I love my curls now. I had really long hair but i straightened them 2 years back. I have cut those straightened hair but some are still left. I miss my hair length. I wish i hadn't done smoothening in the first place and endured my natural curls.
Hi I started to learn about my hair I just found out I have 2a/2b wavy/curly hair I always wonder why when my hair is completely dry on the front it’s curly in the middle wavy and then in the back kinda straight but not so straight 😅 and I tried the thinks on RUclips bought some products and yeah now I found out I did all the dont’s well I still learn and I definitely try it out when I wash my hair 🫶🏽 thanks
i love your hair on your pfp it’s gorgeous!! i have 2a- 2b waves (so nothing really but i’ve straightened my hair so much it doesn’t have any wave anymore :( )
You're such a beauty. I'm 53 years young. And I can totally relate to all of the don'ts. I confess that I've done them all sprinkled throughout my lifetime. I seriously couldn't stop giggling!!
I needed this so bad! Meeting my boyfriends parents tomorrow and I really want to make sure my hair looks incredible, now I know exactly how to do it right every time. love you Jayme!
omg your curls are my goal !!! Next wash day I'm following your tips . I know I won't get the same results as I'm sure my hair is more type 2 with the odd type 3 curl hidden in there . but if I can get a better definition of my curls then I'm happy .
Not me doing everything you said not to. I have 3c/3b hair and I thought my roots were just meant to be looking dead and straight. But seeing the way it affected your perfectly curly and healthy hair is sooo helpful. Changing my styling ways rn!
I have a very very similar curl pattern, and I just started my “curly journey” and cannot wait for my hair to grow out and look similar to how bomb yours does

“I’m not an expert” says the girl with BEAUTIFUL absolutely perfect curls. 🧐🧐
Lies!!
Then how to control frizz at the roots?
I did all the steps and let it air dry but the end of curls looked amazing but the roots buffed like crazy
I use a mousse that is designed for the roots which helped me a lot on controlling the frizz in my roots, you should try that too
Also applying a little bit of conditioner on your roots while showering might help too, just not too much
@@mmm2121 what's the brand of mousse u use?
WRAPEDINSILK Literally the same thing happened with me also! I'm wondering if I didn't saturate my hair enough with water
sameeeeee here!
I just now decided to look how to properly do my hair cause it's always in a bun, my mom would either put it in a ponytail or braid cause even though her hair is also curly she always wore it short which was good as a kid but now I want to learn different styles
The don’t picture is exactly my hair
This is the video Needed so badly bro. My hair is flatter than a table thank you so much🥺🥺
My parents didn't know how to treat curly hair so I grew up hating mine. 😭💕
This is one of the most beneficial curly hair videos I have watched! 😍 Thanks, girly!
Mariah Mahon that makes me so happy!!!!
@@rel4998 Thank you for the tip love! 💜
Beautiful!
Thank you! Im going to try this way. Usually i can only get my hair to look this good if I'm lucky and the weather is just right and my hormones are balanced and the sun and moon are in perfect alignment
rasp berryboo
This isn’t really related to your comment but
How are our names very similar???
Dear god I relate so hard 🤣
Tips for me:
Don't apply so much mousse
Pull the brush away from the scalp instead of dragging down
Scrunch the mousse in
Hover the diffuser around and then lightly shake it, don't touch your hair, don't separate them, don't put it on the scalp
Don't touch them until they're completely dry
She only used mousse for the do?
You're tips really help me with my hair 😘
I recently bought some John Frieda Curl Mousse. Can't wait to try it on my next wash day!I really appreciate your channel.I've learned that PATIENCE is really one of the key rules for beautiful curls.
I think we all curly lasses here at least know not to brush dry hair. That's the BIGGEST DON'T 🙅
Never do that
Great video, thank you.
What shampoo do you use!?
Okay but the result of her “don’ts” isn’t as great as her “dos” but like low key... it’s not terrible 😂 Still better than my normal hair lol
You are such a radiant beauty, i got shocked when I clicked and you popped up like that. 🤍🤍🤍🤍
I think I’m the only person on the planet whose roots dry before the rest of my hair 😂😂😂
Jennifer Catherine nope. Same to me too.
Mine does too! 😭
Of course the roots dry first... your head is warm so it dries your roots
Lili Bili Lol what.
My Namo yes. After you shower, the hair near your head dries first, because it gives warmth. Or did I maybe misunderstand the comment?
DO: have naturally curly hair
DON'T: think you can achieve this with your damn straight hair by just following these steps
Lmao
Secession77 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Lol, right
the aggression
haha, yeah I guess, but I had very frizzy hair that I didn't think was curly but after researching apparently if you have a frizz you can achieve a curl and now after following lots of tips I have super curly hair!!!
My with my straight hair: this video is 100% of use for me!
Thank you for sharing this routine.
Giving this a try!
Also, can you let me know your lipstick shade?
I got anxiety just watching the "dont's"....but eeek, I see that I am making a few of those mistakes. So thanks for this video, it was super helpful. You and your curls are gorgeous!
You are so cute. Love love love this video! xx
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍

Oh, the curls!! Might be the most beautiful locks I've ever seen.😍
10 minutes of me learning I've been doing absolutely everything wrong 👁👄👁 Thank you!!
I’ve been watching all of your videos and for the first time in 58 years I’m going to finally give in to my curls and try to start embracing them instead of straightening them every day! Thanks for all the great videos.
i can't decide if i want her hair or her eyes 😍
Ok but I need to know the lip color you're wearing! It's gorgeous!
I needed this video because my hair has turned out like it did on the right 😩 thank you for this curl queen 💗
the amount of work for this video deserves a recognition 👏
I have straight-wavy 01-02 hair. I actually love to make my hair frizzy because after I create curls they look like dirty hair, so I brush it a little to create that frizzy texture that nobody wants :))) and that creates a volume for me
I don’t even have curly hair, but I loved watching this lol
this makes me want to finally embrace my natural curls. i have been straightening for too long and its really damaging my hair
Hi I started to learn about my hair I just found out I have 2a/2b wavy/curly hair I always wonder why when my hair is completely dry on the front it’s curly in the middle wavy and then in the back kinda straight but not so straight 😅 and I tried the thinks on RUclips bought some products and yeah now I found out I did all the dont’s well I still learn and I definitely try it out when I wash my hair 🫶🏽 thanks
i used to do most of the "don'ts" you literally saved my life thank u sm 😭
Even though i’m a 4c natural, i’m definitely going to take the brush direction tips because I want VOLUME for days!
i love your hair on your pfp it’s gorgeous!! i have 2a- 2b waves (so nothing really but i’ve straightened my hair so much it doesn’t have any wave anymore :( )
I hope you make a good impression!
how did it go?
omg your curls are my goal !!! Next wash day I'm following your tips . I know I won't get the same results as I'm sure my hair is more type 2 with the odd type 3 curl hidden in there . but if I can get a better definition of my curls then I'm happy .
You're tips really help me with my curly hair 😎👍
The do’s and don’ts are such a big transition!!! Im...... no wonder my hair looks like shit. I love you for this jo
Not me doing everything you said not to. I have 3c/3b hair and I thought my roots were just meant to be looking dead and straight. But seeing the way it affected your perfectly curly and healthy hair is sooo helpful. Changing my styling ways rn!
Me: *Watches* ....
Me: *Gets out of bed at 5:13 A.M just to fix my hair*
Oooh that's why my hair looked and felt so weird after diffusing lol!
I can not tell you how much this video helped me. You’re so great at explaining AND giving visuals!!!
I'm amazed that you actually went thru the process of putting the product on the wrong way and putting it on the right way. MVP for real! 👏
came straight from Instagram from how excited I was!! THANK YOU
dancemomsedits yayy!!!!
I’m loving this comment section it feels like a curly support group ❤️
*ive been doing all the donts and it looks exactly like yours when you do the donts so I did all the dos and it looks exactly like yours now 😌😌*
Omg you must be drop dead gorgeous! Hope my hair turns out as nicely after I start following her tips, too!
@@mollytaylor8122 I’ve been following her for like a year now
I didn’t realize how many of the donts i do😳love this vid, ty!!
10/10 video. You can tell you thought very carefully with each technique and it so helpful to see the dos and don’ts simultaneously!!
I have a very very similar curl pattern, and I just started my “curly journey” and cannot wait for my hair to grow out and look similar to how bomb yours does
Oh my goodness, what lipstick are you wearing? Also, your hair is perfection!!!!
