    I’ve blown my naturally curly hair straight my whole life only to have it turn to frizz when the Fl humidity hit. Now at 71 I’m just learning how to embrace my curls and it has really been a process! This video has been a big help!!!

    Thank you for this video. I’m 53 years old and have always hated my curly hair because it always looked messy and frizzy. This video has changed my life! I love my naturally curly hair now. No hair dresser has ever taught me any of these tricks…no more flat iron for me.

      Same!! No hairstylest ever taught me the tricks either and I've always said "I don't know how to style my hair curly". You think ONE of them would of helped us! I am SO excited to try her tips - I can't wait to see how my hair turns out. I'm 45 and have always struggled too. Your comment has given me so much HOPE! 😊

      Yea, I love the looks here ... 9:19, 9:31, 10:47 ... the hair is soft and voluminous ... may be a bit of the 80s, but hey, I am a gal from that era, and I still loooove those styles.
      I actually think that the contemporary super-defined curl pattern looks too harsh. But hey, to each our own, right?! 😉

    • @dela2612
      @dela2612 2 года назад +24

      @@ExtraordinaryLiving I used to style my hair like the "do's" section but I never had the volume I wanted, my curl clumps turned out too big and crunchy and it was way too much work to use different products and section the hair like that, only to have to do it all over again 4-5 days later. Nowadays I just apply some gel like she did in the don'ts section, scrunch it with a microfiber towel and dry it with the diffuser as she did in the don'ts. I now get soft hair with the balance of volume and definition that I like and it's half the work!

    • @weatherviewer
      @weatherviewer 2 года назад +11

      @@ExtraordinaryLiving I agree! Especially since my hair is very thin, when it's too defined it looks too thin. Gotta plump up the volume a bit and sacrifice some definition!

    OMG, I feel you on the "professional" hairdresser just destroying your curls to give them more "volume". The worst is how expensive the whole thing turns out to be. Not every hair salon knows how to deal with curls, a lot of them find it "weird" that I refuse to blow-dry it because I don't want straight hair. That's when you realize they don't know how to style curly hair. It's annoying, they won't be honest about not knowing but they will for sure charge you a ridiculous amount of money for the disaster they did. I'd happily send your video to a lot of them 😂
    You're a lifesaver!

      I would say most hairstylist don't have a clue...Most with a capital M. I have never received an actual quality, helpful haircut in my entire life😳 And I live in the Seattle area. I'm finally planning to go to a curly stylist this winter. Wanted to long ago but couldn't bring myself to spend the money🥴 I cut my own hair but it's so much work and I'm too busy. I'm excited to see how much having a curly hair enhancing cut will give my hair an advantage of styling more effectively🤩

      Would you believe I know some stylist who can give a great curly hair cut but still don’t understand the styling process? I have to remind my stylist every time I don’t want a blow dry before I leave the salon. Nor do I want to use any of the products they use on other clients. Sometimes it almost seems I have offended her/him.

    Can't wait to try this. When I went to get my hair cut they did the don'ts with the blow dryer. I actually didn't let anyone dry my hair at the salon anymore. I actually don't even own a blow dryer. None of the curly hair products the salon put on worked, now I know why. I have found a technique that has been working to create curl clumps, I can't wait to try your style product suggestions, I guess I have not been doing it correctly. 😊

    I really enjoyed this. I have tons of fine hair that I always thought was straight but just had weird bends & flips at the ends, baby hairs that would stick up around my face & ears & would get really fluffy when I blow dried. About 10-15 years ago I found out by fluke that if I scrunched my hair when it was wet, I'd get these 'S' waves & even some loose ringlets. I tried mousses, gels, creams, sprays, oils... everything under the sun, but could never get a single one of them to hold the curls and waves when it was dry without a crunchy flaky greasy heavy mess, so I gave up. At 43 I'm researching & learning things so I can try again with success, hopefully. I'm going to try the L.U.S. Brand's Love Ur Curls 3 step and try some of the techniques you've mentioned here because the results I'm seeing online with that system are incredible & these do's & don'ts will definitely help! One other tip I heard somewhere was to turn the power off on the blow dryer/duffuser before you pull it off the section of hair you're diffusing, place it on a different spot, turn it on and hold, turn it off and move etc. I read that it really reduces frizz caused by the air blowing the curls around as you're moving the diffuser.
    I have a question about gel cast... Once you crunch it up doesn't it leave white flaky bits all over your hair? That's what's happened to me every single time I've tried Gel and sometimes even mousse for that matter. Anyway, thanks for sharing this. Your hair is Fab!

    I am so happy I came across your video! I have wavy/ light curly hair but never wear it naturally because I never knew how to style it and actually like it. I tried your suggestions and technique this morning and OMG!!! A little light frizz but overall I am blown away!! I didn’t have a hair oil to use so I used my hair serum but think it weighed down my hair just a little. Lesson learned but still I am so so happy!!

    I followed this today and am 56 years old with a lifetime battle with having naturally curly hair look messy and stringy and frizzy. I love how you don’t try and sell any specific product but educate about the procedure! And you don’t talk and talk about things that aren’t relevant or even remotely interesting but rather you drop helpful hints and suggestions through out the whole thing! Thank you!

    This was the best video ever I learned more in this video than I have in the hundreds I have watched. I hated my naturally curly hair and straightened it for 20 years and caused so much damage to my hair. Then I said one day I am just going to embrace my curtly hair and love how I was made so started following a group on fb and tried cgm. There is some that I go by but the cowash and all that I just can't do. I have to wash my hair lol. I did start washing a lot less and went from daily to 1-2× a week. But ty for making these videos and educating ppl such as me. And by the way your curls are freakin amazing. 😍

    I have been doing curly girl method for a year, the bad part is I was putting in all my products in the shower with my hair upside down and defusing the same way. You taught me so much today. You are the first person who has been able to explain how to finger coil and use the denmon brush correctly. Thank you . I cant wait to use what you have taught me

    I’m 65 years old, and you are teaching me so much! For years, I kept a brush blow dry style and struggled with straightening until I had thyroid trouble and my hair started thinning. Then, I went to a stylist who encouraged me to embrace what I thought was just enough wave to keep my hair always messy. I didn’t realize that I had actual curl until I got a layered scrunch and go cut, which gave great volume to my thinning hair. My curls always look wonderful when I leave the salon, but I could never get it to look like my stylist. I didn’t realize that I was causing my messy frizz by doing so much wrong, Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

    So funny! I came here because my hairstylist diffused my hair like 🚫 today. I felt like back in the 80s. 😂 She asked me if I blow dry my hair like this too and I (accidently) laughed and said "no" 🤭 I said that I look really wild and she responded "but look at the volume!" 🦁 But I don't blame here. My hair is very fine and thin and it's actually difficult to achieve the right balance between definition and volume. 🤷🏼‍♀️
