I've been watching curly hair RUclips's for over a year and just barely saw this today. You're the first to say it's ok to leave diffuser on section for 5 whole minutes can't wait to try
Drying for five minutes and using high heat are so different from the instructions of other videos. I’ve been afraid to try your method because of that. Thanks for giving me the courage to try it.
wow I am 70 with white curly hair. Cannot tell you how many times I have left the salon with "cranky hair".This is the first time I have ever seen a diffuser used this way. I quickly washed my hair after watching you today and held the diffuser in place while drying. Vavavoom if I do say so myself. LOL
As a stylist...THANK YOU!!! I had my client a little frizzy today and I just need to shift my mindset. Sometimes we’re thinking about time and I will be sooo much better with my patience and time management with my curly fam from now on ♥️
I love to hear this from a professional hairstylist! I love all my stylist but they can't style my curls no matter where I go! I get it because it took me many years to figure out! I hope it worked out!
I’m new to embracing my curls and this was sooo helpful! I can’t wait to give this new diffusing method a try. Simple and clear instructions-thank you!! 🙏🏻
Maybe you should tell the salon manager (obviously not in a Karen kind of way, lol). You pay for the service, you should be leaving the salon looking your best.
WOW! I’m currently getting my cosmetology license and today I diffused a lady’s hair and when I tell you I did EVERYTHING WRONG!! I noticed her hair was getting frizzy so I instantly stopped! I just couldn’t continue on without the proper knowledge. I absolutely LOVE your method like ma’am you should be teaching this technique!! I definitely will be using this next time I do natural curly hair !! I’m so happy I came across this video. I was determined to find the best way for the best results. THANK YOU!!
Omg, I am cringing... The second part is literally how I style my hair! Thank you for showing me not only the correct way but to stop doing everything I am currently doing! 😂😂
This diffuser lesson for curly hair was awesome. Thank you for doing it. I, too, have suffered at the hands of unskilled "professionals" who say they can do curly hair. Never enough product and frizzing my hair as they dry. 😅 I'll be trying this tomorrow! 💜💜
I really appreciate this video. I learned something new and wasn’t irritated at all by your teaching methods. Much appreciated. Some channels on YT- I’ll just leave it at that. Thank you much!
I’m so pleased this video came up in my feed. I still struggle to style my hair at the age of 38 but thank you so much for this tutorial. Followed your instructions and my fine hair has turned out voluminous with no sign of frizz or flatness. Thank you 😊
Wow I can’t wait to try this, I’ve spent sooo much money on different products to try and get the right curl! Now I get it…dam I’ve got to the age of 50 and struggled for so many years. Thanks you so much 😘 Jo
This is life-changing! I was using a diffuser before and my curls looked so bad and I thought it's just not working. I didn't know that there is another technique.
This is one of the most helpful tutorials on curls I've seen. I'm in the experimental/exploration phase with my wavy/curly hair and I think these tips just might help address the issues I've been having. 🙏❤
I was in my mid-20s when an amazing hairdresser introduced me to a diffuser! I had struggled for years! Embrace the curls! Sometimes when I'm in a hurry I do the "don't" and I'm always disappointed! Love how you multi-task thru the process, great idea! After my cut, I ask them to just mist my hair damp, scrunch and go since it's better than what they give me!! Loved your video, it was awesome and I'm going to stop rushing the process.
Thankyou for this. My new hairdresser got my hair soo curly last time, I've never seen it that good, my mum thought it was a perm! I'm looking to recreate at home and thid video was perfect x
You changed my life with this tutorial! Tried your method this morning for the first time, and my curls were amazing! Where have you been all my life? 🥰
I discovered recently that my hair texture is actually pretty curly naturally (thanks dad!), but it needs specific conditions to actually make nice curls -conditions that are just not met where I live. My hair usually is straightish yet frizzy. I’m going to try and bring out my curls with this kind of care, and I must thank you for showing me how to use a diffuser. Never thought I might want one 😂
So I know this video is from awhile ago but I'm just starting my curly hair journey. I've really started getting my products down and a good routine but I could not get my curls consistently defined and I love my middle part and just COULD not make it work. My hair looked exactly like the don't side. So this morning I tried the do side. It wasn't a wash day (in fact its day three... my usual wash day but I'm trying to stretch my wash days out more) so it was a little different than what you did but... HOLY CRAP. My hair looks amazing!! I can not get over how great my curls look and how little frizz there is. Thank you for this video because it has genuinely helped me on my curly hair journey.
OMG I literally just clapped by myself, lol. I love to hear this!! Thank you! Here is a more updated video that I did. ruclips.net/video/JhxYohyIfcQ/видео.html
I appreciate this video :). I'm a man and I've always liked having longer hair (currently it goes about an inch past my shoulders). I personally am not trying to have curly hair like this, but my hair does have natural waves in it. These almost always get destroyed when I first wash my hair for the week, then start showing up a few days after washing. I've always wanted to figure out how to make these waves more pronounced and defined, and preferably find a way to keep them even after washing. I wash once a week, sometimes twice if I've been doing something particularly dirty (like handling drywall, lol). But this works well for my hair, because if I wash every day it's just a frizzy mess. I've spoken to lots of people who have hair similar to mine, and they recommend products made for scrunching and curling, along with a diffuser. I've tried these, and there most definitely is a noticeable difference, however the problem I've run into is my hair just eventually falls flat. I at first thought maybe I wasn't doing it right, but watching your video has shown me that I'm on the right track. It's not my technique, I think I have this problem because the hair just gets too heavy with the products I'm adding? It looks GREAT at first, for several hours, then eventually turns into the "do not" side, lol. I think you hit the nail on the head at the beginning. All of my hair is currently one length (for the most part). I don't have any layers, and I would say I can get it to look pretty good (at least, strangers have not been shy of complimenting it, or wanting to touch it and feel it). But I think it's really all about having the right cut. If your hair is all the same length, there's no variety in how you'll get waves/curls to appear. I can get lovely little waves at the ends of my hair, and can see them start to form in the middle and near the roots, but they just work themselves out. I loved the way it looked this morning, but by the middle of the day it was flat and messy, not lovely and wavy.
After watching the do section of the video I didn't really need to watch the don't section because I knew it was everything that I already do! Thank you so much for setting me straight (all pun intended). I can't wait to try it out wait on my hair!
My hairdresser lets me dry my hair myself when he cuts it. Now if I could only stop him from rubbing my head with a terry towel....I tried your rake and shake, now I will try this technique...thanks a million!
This is my first time seeing one of your videos and I must say you're adorable. First, I love that you're not 25 but I also love your attitude and how you show the different results at the same time. You kinda remind me of the actress Kathleen Gati, whom I adore. She's a very sweet and talented actress. My hair is very similar to your so I'm looking forward to trying your method. Thank you!
Thank you. I have been straightening my hair but ready to go back to curly. The "wrong" side of your hair is how my curls have looked and I have not been happy. Now I know what to do with my diffuser! Thank you!
Thank you this was really 😮 I have very curly hair and when I was little used to hate my hair because not many girls had curly hair and it wasn’t the popular look. Finally I got to the point where I embrace my curly hair and it’s not easy to find products that work for me. I’ll definitely follow you on ❤
Thank you for making this video!! This is so helpful. I was using the diffuser exactly how you did on the "wrong" side because didn't know how to use one. I can't wait to try the right way next time I wash my hair.
Hi Deb! Bad side is me!! I have been using a diffuser wrong for 30 years lol. I had no idea you had to cup your hair into the diffuser and not move it! Can’t wait to try your technique and reduce my frizz!!
I want to say thank you. I was never really taught to use a diffuser but your video was great. I am thinking there is a bit of a learning curve and a better curl cream and I will have it down. But it looks much better than it did . Again thanks keep them coming.
This was so useful and informative! I don't use the diffuser properly apparently, and it explains why I'm not getting the results I'm after. Thank youuuuu.
Heyy! I have really long curly hair (down to my hips) and I struggle a lot when diffusing it. I make some of the donts that you mentioned, so I'm going to try your technique next time. Hope it works on long hair too!! Thanks for the video🤗
@@lagatita1623 yess! That is my go to routine, I braid my hair into 4 braids after washing it. But I like to wear my natural curls too and this tutorial helped me a lot.
This video helped me so much! Definitely was doing all the wrong thins. I have naturally wavy hair (not curly) and have started to embrace my natural texture, so I am going to go practice the right way now!
OMG!!!!! this worked! I have a carribean afro mean is very curly hair but not kinky but frizzy (is complicated), I never waer it curly because is a frizz ball therefore i get it straighten out. I used diffuser in the past and it just made it worst but now I know is because I was using the diffuser wrong! I tried your method and it worked! My curls looked so good! Im so happy to leave my hair natural! thanks!
Today was my first time using a diffuser in my life. I feel like bringing back my curls and I totally did the what not to do... Ended up styling totally different. Will try another day. 😅
I’m in my fourties and I never had a clue about how to style my curls/waves, they always looked frizzy. I will try your methods. You look lovely, thanks a lot
Thank you so much for the video. How many days does this style last? The amount of time it takes to blow dry with a diffuser is my biggest issue with it. Thank you again!
I was looking through the video's on You Tube to find out how to style my permed hair correctly and I found your channel. WOW! As soon as I started to dry it like you demonstrated, I could see the amazing difference! You are totally amazing and I shall now do this trick every time I dry my hair. Back at the beginning of Lockdown (March 2020) I had a very short pixie cut, and of course I couldn't get my hair cut for weeks! It nearly drove me insane, so after I had struggled to grow it past my ears, I decided to persevere and just keep growing it, it is now a similar length to yours (apart from the fringe that I had kept short, but am now growing that out also) I had a perm in the hope of being able to make it look nicer, but it has looked horrible up until today that is! I think you are a wonderful person for sharing your secret on here, and I shall be keeping my eye on your channel now, though, as I am a new subscriber :-) Thank you so very, very much Xxx
This was amazing. My hair came somewhere between your yes and no side. I think with a little practice, and maybe a hair trim, it will look as good as yours. Thanks for the great tips!
Thank you for this video. 😭 I am in my 30's and my hair has been a nightmare since I had twins 3 years ago. I JUST realized it's because it's gone curly. I was trying to figure out how to style it and did everything on your don't list. 🙈 Thank you for helping me learn how to style my new hair. It was coming out so frizzy and uneven. 😭
Thank you! Thanks for the wonderful tips. I am letting my hair grow longer for a different look and hoping not to use too much of flat iron and just wear my natural curls.
Yes thanks for the tips. I was touching with my hands and moving my dryer way too much. I say the dont side on the thumbnail and said yup thats me. Trying this tomorrow!
Thank you sooo much for this video!!❤ I have wavy hair and have been air drying it cuz when i attempted to use a diffuser before it just seemed to take too long, my neck started to hurt etc. but now after watching ur video I'm going to try it again! Wish me luck😂
Thank you SO much for this! My hair has been straight all my life until recently with some hormone changes. It’s now really wavy and it looks like your “don’t” side ALL the time and I hate it. I’m going to use your method immediately.😊
It makes such a difference! I have been using it a little differently lately to change it up, here is the video on how I've been styling lately. It gives me a more fuller look ruclips.net/video/RdIx2nSGLjk/видео.html
I am with you and your comments about hairdressers. My hairdresser just makes my hair look bad, though I try to be positive! Although I have fine hair which has decreased with age and if I applied heat to my hair it would probably end up like a frizzball!
Loved loved loved your video. I’m growing out a pixie and I’m at a 5” length on my hair and it’s still very short. I have never seen anyone dry their hair out like you did. And I like your video. It gives me hope. I usually don’t have much volume since it is so short still. But I’m going to try your method. It makes sense.
Finally, someone MY AGE, to show me how to do this diffuser the right way. You look great, I am hoping to achieve better results 🙏
I've been watching curly hair RUclips's for over a year and just barely saw this today. You're the first to say it's ok to leave diffuser on section for 5 whole minutes can't wait to try

Every stylist I’ve ever had has dried my hair the second way! Frizz everywhere! Thank you for your advice.
Thank you so much, this is the best video ever, for how to use a confuser!😇
lol I don't know if you mistyped diffuser but I like your word for it better!! Confuser! LOL nobody knows how to use it!
It was always a confuser and now i think it could be a diffuser 😉
This was amazing. My hair came somewhere between your yes and no side. I think with a little practice, and maybe a hair trim, it will look as good as yours. Thanks for the great tips!
I love hearing that thank you!
Wow I just found your vid and I was always doin the donts and never did my hair curly cuz it never came out right. Thank you for that explanation❤
Thank you so much. I do my hair totally the wrong way and get exactly the same result as you did. I will start practising the 'right way'.
LOL! How did it come out!?
Thank you sooo much for this video!!❤ I have wavy hair and have been air drying it cuz when i attempted to use a diffuser before it just seemed to take too long, my neck started to hurt etc. but now after watching ur video I'm going to try it again! Wish me luck😂
Wow! So helpful. I was drying my hair totally wrong and it looked so frizzy! Thank you
Happy to see this before I buy a diffuser tomorrow. 🥳💕
Both sides look great
Thank you SO much for this! My hair has been straight all my life until recently with some hormone changes. It’s now really wavy and it looks like your “don’t” side ALL the time and I hate it. I’m going to use your method immediately.😊
Hope it worked!
Do you use a heat protectant? And if yes, at which step? Thank you so much for teaching us!
I should but I honestly don't! 🙄 the only one I know of is TRESemmé which my daughter uses and likes.
I was doing everything on the don't side! Omg I can't wait to use my diffuser the right way.
It makes such a difference! I have been using it a little differently lately to change it up, here is the video on how I've been styling lately. It gives me a more fuller look ruclips.net/video/RdIx2nSGLjk/видео.html
I've had curly hair my whole life never used a diffuser before I have learned how to use one with your help thank you so much 🙏
Can I ask what diffuser you are using please. TIA
I am with you and your comments about hairdressers. My hairdresser just makes my hair look bad, though I try to be positive! Although I have fine hair which has decreased with age and if I applied heat to my hair it would probably end up like a frizzball!
So helpful as a curly go that has been wearing it natural since Covid this was a great tutorial!
what hair dryer and diffuser are you using? Thank you so much for a great video!
It's a Laifen dryer, I love it! Comparable to the Dyson but I've never used that so not sure. amzn.to/3PiJRVg
OMG I am totally part 2 of this! No wonder I get frustrated with my curls/waves.
LOL aww let me know if it works!
LOVE IT! Thanks!
I just watched your video and am so glad I did! What product did you use and do all diffusers work the same?
