despite his name, Death seems to be the nicest and most merciful of the horsemen.
Not necessarily, after seeing all the horsemen i would say that Death is the 3rd most merciful
I mean War is also pretty merciful but more so honorable over merciful
Death is an executioner and takes pride in his work as truly professional, he is not a toturer, despite that historically they did do that, so he wants all his kills to be clean, sure War is skilled in battle and will mercy kill his foes, but he is warrior honour-bound, by a certain code of chivalry
He's the only badass 1
If you don't treat his brothers or his crow. You'll see mercy after your death in that case.
"You wish to be taken now?"
"Yes."
"Very well."
Damn, so simple, yet the way Death speaks, especially in conjunction with how he spoke before...bone-chilling. He's clearly a neutral force when it comes to humans, he'll talk like it is just an evening stroll for him regardless if he is questioning the human or killing the human.
Well, Death is and will always be the Ultimate Equalizer.
I think his last lines sound rather soft, sad, but welcoming. Felt like cold embrace of death was rather warming and peacefull.
You said it. The perfect word to describe death is "neutral" he speaks in a monotone voice and doesn't give suggestions :
-asks you what you want
-you tell him what you want
-gives you what you want
I absolutely love deaths character. So different than any other representation of death.
you should take a look at death from dc comics she's the nicest person ever
I suggest watching the Gargoyles cartoon episode when Anubis is summoned, amazing neutral wisdom of "Death is inevitable. I don't make the rules I simply follow them to reduce the suffering."
Death in the Castlevania anime is another unique take
Discworld Death is the nicest one around.
Grimm
"He's Belial, he's a demon lord!"
And boy, he is Death
Yep death the strongest horsemen
@@anonymous9843 actually war is said to be the true strongest of the horsemen for it took all three just to stop him by taking his arm when he rampages but yes death is strong both power and tactical prowess
@@annoyingPoe15 not particularly, those two didnt need to help death and death took off wars arm with relative ease, death has been confirmed to not technically be able to be killed
@@venocturn5808 the other two barley held him back and it is said in the Canon comic death loves war more than the others but also knows where is stronger than him war is smart but mainly in a fight that involves his raw power but death like strife has his brains to make his fights quicker and cleaner both are the strongest but war is said to always arrive first and leave last he gets the job done but I'm not trying to argue
@@annoyingPoe15 war is *Physically* strongest. But if we throw all horsemen on an overall battle Death would be the winner 🏆
"We both know that isn't true". Wow so satisfactory.
It seems even John Wick had a tough time during the apocalypse.
he gave him peace at his request, true honor
This inspired Hunt: horrors of the gilded age, which later became Hunt: Showdown when it changed hands.
The sad part of that debacle is that Hunt: Showdown completely disassociated itself with Darksiders lore, and while its a solid game by itself, it would've been magnificent to have a game where we played as human survivors in a demon and angel torn earth.
Seriously?
Citation needed
Is that true???????????
would be fun
man it had a good sigh to be a game about humans living in a demon and angel torn earth
I believe that the issue of Death, Belial and Hunter perfectly represents the role of humanity in the history of Darksiders. Humans do not have any guilt or relationship in the conflict between Heaven and Hell, and even so they are the ones who suffer the most and those who are on the verge of total extinction. Belial represents all those who destroy the Earth without any mercy or empathy, such as Abaddon or Absalom. And Death is who understands the importance of the balance and who feels mercy for humans as their brothers or Ulthane.
Death kills the Hunter but only to help him get rid of torment and guilt. Knows that he can't offer him much more than this
Michael Wincott was an outstanding casting for Death. I love the absolute lack of respect he has for Belial. Considering what happened in Darksiders Genesis, I can understand why.
i really hope he voices him again. they changed his voice in 3. i just hope it was cause he was too expensive to use for one line.
The one small casual laugh, and the whole trying not to burst out laughing during "We both know that's not true" was amazing.
@@frostmourne1986 I thought Michael Bell could've provided the voice for Death
Too true; one of the best in gaming and that is not a hyperbole.
"He tricked me?!" Well, yeah..! You're telling me you didn't know, really. That's what demons do, they lie to you to make you spill your guts.
And he was suppose to know Belial WAS lying the whole time? A man whose likely been raised to believe demons of any kind are able to steal your soul regardless of any kind of jargon set up by the council or whatever? It's not so obvious when shit happens like this.
@@paytonkraft7564IKR I've lived under a Christian household they don't exactly specify what type if demon can do that and assumes all can😂. Plus this would be the first time he actually has ever encountered one in the physical realm how could you really tell. Especially when he calls himself a Demon LORD.
@@futureelement924 Belial may not be a great Demon Lord, but he's still a Demon Lord. If that thing teleported up in front of me with enough power to disintegrate a continent for the lolz with a snap of his fingers, I wouldn't exactly question him when he says he's stolen my soul. The human was not to blame.
"Belial's a Demon Lord"
"And I am Death"
Kinda wish that that was how that exchange went
I expected the same lol but would've been Cliched. It wasn't a bad reply imo.
Family Guy reference
I actually chuckled when this man said "HE'S A DEMON LORD" and Death wasn't impressed.
To those calling Death a nice guy. I agree but yall should read the abomination vault cause this dude made the most horrific super weapons in fiction. One of them, you can equip it at its weakest, makes so the attacker basically kills his/her loved ones everytime they strike the bearer of the abomination weapon Mortis. It can kill the attacker too if the bearer wants to but mostly does the former affect.
Death only made that weapon for truely evil people like lucifer for example he'd never use it unless absolutely necessary it was made so truely evil demonlords suffered horrible fates for what they had done so in conclusion to good people death is an angel but to literally anyone evil he's there worst Knightmare but I also have to admit death knows how to make a weapon
@@death-nm7hr Mortis and the other abomination weapons weren't made for Demon lords specifically. It was made as a contengency if the nephelim ever face enemies that are powerful enough to be a threat whether they were angel, demon, etc. while they ripped through creation.
Even the way Death made it was so evil and horrible that even Demons would be impressed. Yes now he's a great guy but that weapon proves he had a dark past to say the least. Still love em and he's my favorite out of the 4. Strife is 2nd favorite.
That's part of why he turned against the Nephilim, and why he feels so guilty. He was the one who discovered that the blood of the Ravaiim could be used to make planet one tapping weapons. He was the one who got his Nephilim brothers to slaughter that world for the Grand Abominations. It was the first world the Nephilim conquered. Death's competence as a Nephilim is what caused so much destruction. He was no worse of intent, but his methods were and are superior. You are right, he has an immensely dark past. Probably killed enough things personally to be in the seven figures. But he saw the error of his ways and did what he could to correct it. He was willing to leave the Nephilim dead and sacrifice his own life to save his brother and an entire world. It shows his repentance.
Besides, nobody ever said he couldn't also be brutal. That's why he is a good character. He isn't some weakling eternally trying to right his wrongs. He just doesn't justify them either.
You’d think Belial would’ve learned his lesson the last time he went up against the Horsemen…
DS2 is a prequel
@@ChopItL1keItshot genesis is much much earlier in the time. Like, thousands of years.
@@ChopItL1keItshot I’m referring to Genesis, when War and Strife kicked his ass long before this game took place
@@ChopItL1keItshot darksiders isn't a prequel it seems to be genesis ds1 opening then its ds3 then moves to ds2 and seems to span till ds 1 main game and possibly after that since we don't know the well of souls time frame abbadon just became Destroyer in ds2 and ds3 the demon lord not sure on name is building destroyers tower
Lucifer once again: Belial you STUPID idiot…
Man I loved DS2. everything felt so fluid and rpg elements were really satisfying and oh lord the artstyle. nothing has given me more inspiration to draw than DS2 artstyle
it was a magical experience
Joe Mads is a genius artist
I really wasn’t expecting Death to oblige Hunter that easily
"If you see my soul lying around would you mind fetching it for me"
lying around... damn, i'm laughing so hard :D
Death is the most badass and compassionate Horsemen out of the 4, he is just in a league of his own that's why he is the leader.
would love to see him back leading his siblings in the final confrontation.
"Belial. The legions of Hell must be in a sorry state to make you a Lord."
I've played this game twice, and have never seen this part.
You probably don’t have the DLC then.
It's the dlc not the main part of the game there are three dlc of the game each with def side story
Same, I never bothered finishing the dlc and am not regretting it haha
Death and Stryfe are older and more mature they have more compassion for humanity at first War and Fury change in their game’s war learns that doing what’s right is more important than duty his antithesis being Abbadon and Fury learns humility and to serve a greater purpose her antithesis being Envy.
Makes perfect sense the way Death would take him.
That man will tell his story to the lord of bones
Human: "kill him? Belial is a demon lord"
Death: bro my name literally is Death, thats kind of my thing you know
13: 36 the image of death just shooting a guy is hilarious to me.
Ikr? I just flash back to Hellsing Abridged when Alucard plasters that one guy on the wall after basically mag-dumping him *TWICE*
Such great memories. I love Death.
Belial: "Nephilim. You will die here"
Death: (chuckles) *"We both know that isn't true"*
And that what makes him cool...
Welcome to Earth
i always subscribe to a RUclipsr who upload Darksiders video. i wish u had 1M sub bcz i really like Darksiders and i feel like other people also like this game but its not all people like Darksiders some of them didn't even know the game😥😥😔😔
I loved this game back in the day but now i cant handle the long ass parkour and puzzle sections i just cant get through the makers world to get to the parts i truly do enjoy
Fun Fact: The Hunter is voiced by Steve Blum
I don’t know about you guys but I’m pretty sure this is no place for a horse
I need to pick this game up again, never got to play this part
11:00
Doomslayer says hi!
Hunter: kill him? he is the demon lord
Death: im literally steam rolled demons just to get here. who do you think i am?
Death: I’m the one who they send to kill the demon lords
It’s better death than continue living with a huge regret
Man I love this game, but god that opening door animation gets old real quick
I need to play this game
Later the human learned that he wqsm't "Death" per se...just its his name.
Damn bro Brimstone met Death
Death reminds me of Lord Rapor from DarkStalkers
Played this game 3 or 4 times and never did this mission. Hell of a way to end it
sadly i never got this to work, the second battle wall wouldnt disappear after all the enemies were killed, no matter what i did :(
man the ambulance and street lights are still operational?
No 1 can stand against DEATH not even belial 💀💀💀💀
Haven't played DS 2 in a while.......is this a new version????? or a continuation????
It was a continuation. This was a part of the third and final dlc that came out in 2012.
What part of the game is that, I completely the game three times and never played that part
Its part of the main quest of the Demon Lord Belial DLC
Is that Michael Wincott dubbing him? He sounds different.
It is. And hes amazing.
what is that armour set man? looks sick
From memory I wanna say it was just a random drop from the dlc.
This human is way too tall. Humans were very tiny against War.
Or War was just very tall. Or Death is just short.
From what I have gathered, War stands about 7.5-8.5ft tall, Death being 7-7.5, not too sure about Strife, and Fury being 6-6.5ft (maybe a bit shorter seeing as her heels are about 3-4inches).
@@kimmydragonmama3735 could use the scene during envy or jealousy fight as a height for the horseman
@@sandornagy3484 I’ve played through it a few times, but it seems a little off, with Fury seeming to be the tallest, which I thought was the Devs subtle way of showing Lust play to Fury’s pride and idea of her being the greatest of them.
@@kimmydragonmama3735 also have to remember that fury wears high heels so might be a true height with Armour on
WTH? Why haven't I played this? Is this exclusive to deathinitive edition?
Nah, its just the normal 3rd dlc that you could get with the normal game. The Deathinative edition just came bundled in with all dlcs.
see why couldnt they do this for strife the other three got there own game he got a shitty top down with war
They even change strife to act like deadpool, when in the past games described him as wise elder that seeks more power to be the leader of their group.
Strifes game most people believe is going to be a proper game not a prequel spin off if they follow normal routine for games then it will be Strifes game then a final game which will have all 4 together in some capacity destroying the charred council
@@sandornagy3484 sadly they fucked that right up
@@renevil2105 Strife's character is WAY better, trust me.
In the comics, he's an insufferable prick.
Strife being a witty wisecracking badass is much better.
People saying Strife is wise was them not knowing the way Strife actually acts
@@-.DIO.- that what was written and said about strife in the early games before 3 an gen.
Darksiders 2 Death is my Favorite Character. I have been playing this game for 4-5 times but i have never play the DLC.
Where can i download the DLC??
All the DLC came with the Deathinative edition
What if the hunter follow feath
This part aways have bug in my ps4
I’m stuck here… I can’t leave this place
@@LHDC87 for me i can talk to this human , since he dont appear ,so the game can go foward
Ugh.

Death is ganster and to think jesus beat death in 3 days
i liked this dlc but it felt out of place
wasn't this dlc like, completely broken.
I think that's why I never finished the dlc, bugs kept it from working properly
Out of all the games I found this one the most fun just unfortunate it had many bugs.
I still come back to it. They took some notes from popular hack'n slashes like Devil may cry
I wonder if Strife's solo game will be a dmc like game
@@trustworthyh3ro267 I'd imagine it will play in a similar vein, a bit like ds2 only a little more agile - kinda like how strife as in genesis really, given how war plays almost exactly the same in that game
@@mawayanokami yea i can't wait to see what they are gonna do. The gluttony fight in 3 made me take a break from it so i plan on finishing 3 pretty soon. (Pretty much spammed lighting spear throw after so many tries)
It was in its original release. But with the release of the Deathinitive version , they patched most if not all the bugs from the DLCs
This may be the worst hack and slash game I have ever played but I enjoy it for some reason
The rpg elements ruined this game slightly for me personally because building a decent set up is quite difficult
@@sandornagy3484
I agree
There a lot of things that ruined this game and I need to write an article if I want to cover them all
In essence this game suck but I like it
@@Nello_angelo welcome to write the article i enjoy criticism especially about games i personally enjoyed at a stage 😀
