- I guess i should warn about spoilers in these cutscenes, but since you searched for the end cutscene, I'm assuming you don't care.
Here are the last two cutscenes from the game 'Darksiders' on the Xbox 360. The first scene is before your fight with the Destroyer, the second scene is after Abbadon is defeated and the game officially ends.

I just watched it again and I still get chills
When War said, "No...not alone", and I saw those 3 different colored comets, I got chills, also!
And the number of the riders shall ever be Four.

That's was one of the most satisfying game ending that I have even seen.

The way Uriel is written is just awesome. Her ex-commander and maybe even ex-lover lies before her, beaten like a dog with his wings ripped off, begging for her sympathy and help - and she just tells the betrayer to reap what he has sown and watches him being stabbed and finished off without an ounce of pity. There is not even a sliver of weakness in heaven's champion. What a woman.

Samael is one of the best characters in gaming. Kinda wish his boss fights were better, But, it's obvious, Ol' Sammy has a huge part, yet to play.
@@riteousrighthand6144 based on the lore that I'm aware of I'm pretty sure he's holding back (way back) most of the time, in DS2 he's basically toying with Death during most of the fight and only stops when he receives a scar on his face from one of Death's attacks. That's why fighting him in DS2 feels off, he's not really fighting throughout the ordeal.
@@riteousrighthand6144 another thing you need to consider is that Death is SIGNIFICANTLY more powerfull than War. So Death making Samael weaker then when we saw him as War is’t too far fetch.

The Counsil orchestrated the fall of War and stripped him of the majority of his true power, when they sent him on his quest against Abbadon!
Death wasnt manipulated and 'nerfed' by the Counsil!

But, bottom of the line; Death ís said to be the strongest of the Four Horsemen! Still, with the 7th Seal now broken, War's full power is now also unleashed, and i think that even Death isnt thát much stronger then War at thit point! Still stronger... but not as much as the 2 games showed!

Its the unique speciality of each horsement imho, that makes them thé most invicible and unstoppable force in existance!
Where Death is the final word in quick attacks, able to chop up anything or anyone, War is the stoic Juggernaut that delivers the biggest blows to ány enemy?
...Fury is the ferocity in the very center of it, where Strife is the sniper-killer that picks of any stragglers or other targets of opportunity?

You should not watch but play the games! Also genesis takes place before War summoning to earth by council, before he "betrayed" the balance.

Telthalis what I want (and hope) is for darksiders 4 to focus on strife and his story and then for 5 to go full circle wrap up the ending in 1 and have all four of them as playable. I just need to wait 20 years

I like how you can feel the pure, seething rage in his voice. That line has something really memorable about it.
And that "Sometimes duty must be cast aside, to do what must be done. It is not for duty that I kill you now." made the whole thing x10 better

Others already said it, but this was legit one of the best game endings ever you fight so hard alone as a horseman and feel so unstoppable. The idea of 3 more arriving seems like biblical fate to wreck every semblance of resistance possible. As a man born in 89 and played a lot of earlier video games, this one was most satisfying to complete

Such a great ending. I still have hope for Darksiders 3. And I love that The Watcher was voiced by Mark Hamill AKA The Joker from Batman the Animated Series and the first couple of Arkham games AKA Luke Skywalker.

Till this day, the BEST ending ive seen in years!! Everytime i see it, gives me chills in the best way possible! Its just so perfect! Not to mention the music in the background, and as if this scene wasnt enough, we're left with one of the best songs ever to play during the credits.. Man ive played games my whole life, so many different genres, and this game still stands out as one of the most memorable ever! I hope to see a part 3 on my ps4!! Cheers!

The thing I just love about the series is, that after the Horsemen learn the truth about the Council and lose their purpose for existing, they pick a new one. Defending Humanity, the people caught in the middle of a war they never wanted and can't even comprehend.

The Angel of Death (after what they'd been through) being indebted to WAR, and to serve him (WAR) in common interest. *Both War and the Angel of Death know what's up at this point, they are the ONLY TWO "good guys" who know everything...about the corrupt Council, about Abadon being the Destroyer, about the Hell Guard being selflessly led to slaughter, etc.
Still in those first 40 seconds. WAR drops in FROM HEAVEN. Not as an ally to Hell OR the White City, but as a horseman, an arbiter... and just watching those hell-guard troops make a path for WAR is such a badass scene! (War could make snow cower in fear and melt in his path by that stare)

The Fourth Kingdom - that is, the Nephilim - were slain by Death, hence his nickname "Kinslayer." War, Strife, and Fury aided him in the slaughter. As a reward, the Four were given massive amounts of power, becoming the Four Horsemen.

Believing that Eden should be long to them (an idea likely fed by Lilith), they tried to reclaim Eden. But Death, Fury, Strife and War had grown a conscious to what their race had been doing and pledged loyality to the Council, hoping for redemption. Instead, Death and his siblings were tasked with leading Heaven's forces and kill the Nephilim, and later destroy their soul. But this wasn't Death wanted, he killed their bodies and collected their souls but in the end, he couldn't bring himself to destroy the amulet. Instead he bargained it with Crowfather, and got Dust as a reminder of their deal.

I really can recomment it, it is a good story, the characters (both old and new) are great and it really capture the feeling of the character. It also has a fine sense of dark humor.

Man I still come back and watch this from time to time, one of the best game endings in my life, "not alone" gets me everytime
This game and Darksiders 2 are two of my favourite games this gen. I really hope that any future installments are able to live up to these games. This is one of the best endings that I've seen in a game. Chills every damn time I watch it.
The most satisfying thing in there is the fact that death who jumped into the well of souls and thus sacrified himself and all the nephilims too resurrect humanity has been resurrected too and with all his power and armed with his harvester who can cut through anything, the most powerful horseman did not only manage to resurrect humanity for his brother war but also to get resurrected to fight alongside all the four horseman the ending of darksider 1 is the ending of all darksiders game considering the fact that they all take place a the same Time
@bestlad123 Abaddon died in the beginning of the game. You see during the tree of life cutscene that after he died, he was told that his plans had been used against him to prevent hell from being defeated by heaven. He was going to be punished by the council for doing what he did, and so he chose to be "a ruler of hell" out of fear.
6:12 this line is such a magnificent set up, I really commend the VA and the writers for such phenomenal choice of words for the characters.

If I made a list of top 10 epic moments from my entire gaming history Darksiders would take like 5-6 places. Its absolutely criminal how this series doesnt get more attention. Its incredible how well it was made, the story, the characters, the world, soundtrack, voice acting, artstyle, all so god damn good.
I just finished this game and I loved every second of it. I'm glad to know there's 3 more games to play and I can't wait
I wonder if this means FIVE Darksiders games are planned? The fourth game would naturally follow Strife since he's the last of the four not to get a game. And then a fifth game will wrap up the story by playing as all four.

It is unreal how epic every single part of this game is......u just wanna see more and MORE! GIVE US MORE!!!
I remember playing this and back then I knew I just finished watching a legendary cutscene, it holds true to this day, everything they did was so perfect. the build up, the music, the progression in the game and feeling STRONG, the script and the dialogue and the pinnacle ending of using just 3 words that were the climax of the entire thing. they captured it all so perfectly.
I think this game is so good because it talks about our human nature and our human weakness. I want a movie!

A classic case of a story where there was clearly never any idea or intention of its continuation so the next 3 games are all prequels.
Which is tragic as Darksiders is incredibly good.

nordic better make Darksiders 3 and not fuck it up it would be a shame to let a great franchise die because of one bankrupcy
They said in 2013 that "you shouldn't expect another darksiders game for at least 2 years". Well it's been almost that time and we haven't had any hints, or development, or any teasers at all for a new darksiders game. And I'll be perfectly frank with you...Darksiders 2 already killed the franchise. I REALLY enjoyed Darksiders 1, playing as War and the story just came together perfectly. They had great mechanics that hearkened back to the days of Zelda.
Darksiders 2 kind of crushed that as well. Not to mention the fact that instead of doing a true "sequel" they did an analog sequel. That is, Darksiders 2 was set at the same time War was trying to clear his own name. If we extrapolate this, are they going to do the same thing with Strife and Fury? That'd be kinda boring. They did an awesome job in the first game, but they dropped the ball in DS2 and I fear that this may be a dead end of an IP.
Sykomyke The story for Darksiders 2 had to be made because if they made the true sequel first, people wouldn't know how mankind came back.
FallingIntoBlack Also, it wouldn't allow people to get to know the other characters first hand. In DS1 we get to know War, in DS2 as Sykomyke would have wanted it, we get to know Death, Strife and Fury, all at once without really knowing their characters.
DS2 was fantastic as it combined what we already knew for the first game as well as giving more depth to the character of Death.
My hopes for Darksiders future installments are actually the following:
Darksiders 3: The game start with Strife in chains in a dungeon of the Forgelands, throught memories we learn more about his past as a horseman (through interactive flashbacks), and his latest journey. After the Charred Council informed the three remaining Horsemen about War's 'betrayal', Death ordered his siblings to stand down as he would discover the truth behind the accusation, leading to a confrontation between Death and Strife (a mini-boss battle but with Death winning in the end). Angry, he ignored his brother's commands and go on a quest of his own, trying to uncover what Corruption is and if Death has something to do with it. On his quest, I would started it on a deserted world, like Kothysos (realm from the novel) as this is one of the first realms were corruption has spread. His journey would lead from Kothysos to a city in Hell, the Spider Realm of Ysslik, maybe something in between and eventually to the Forgelands, under the guidance of a Maker who eventually betrayed him, and would be the final boss, with the help of a corrupt (Warden) before revealing in his dying breaths that he sold Mercy and Redemption to two different makers (Ulthane and Alya). But before he can go on a quest to retrieve them, War breaks the final seals. The gameplay would be akin to a third person shooter, as his weapons are guns and the story would reveal more his personality, we know he is an asshole but that is all we know so far.
Proposed Release Date: 2017/2018
Darksiders 4: Fury is tasked by the Charred Council to investigate strange occurances in new realm (the realm where Ostegoth came from), she quickly learned that there a fifth Nephilim alive (Sixth if you count Absolom but she would have no knowlegde about it), a Firstborn who didn't fight in Eden but fled after the massacre. But with the help of an Old One, one of the same race as Kargon (this Old one could be an interesting boss), the Cult of Van Der Schmash and GnoMad, he will have his revenge on the Horsemen and the council, And as a bonus, he wield one of the Grand Abominations: White Anguish...
The Gameplay would be similar to that of Catwoman from Batman Arkham City but still in line with the other Darksiders games (countering with L1 instead of triangle/A), and why would I sent her on such mission, according to Death, only War and Fury are completely loyal to the council and more likely to do their bidding.
Proposed Release Date: 2020/2021
As for Darksiders 5: The 4 against forces of Heaven, Hell and eventually the Charred Council with in the end a renewal of the Seventh Seals as a fourth Kingdom, a fictional kingdom rises (sheltered from the rest)

@@HeythemMD Actually darksiders 2 and 3 happen and the same time and both take place before 1. Deaths sacrifice is the reason that War is released from his 100 year imprisonment.
This ending still gives me massive chills and this game came out nearly TEN FREAKING YEARS AGO! I'm just glad they followed up Darksiders with 2, 3 and Genesis. I love War and Strife's relationship in the new game. Shows more lore and history between the Riders.
This was and still is my favorite ending to any game, it’s just sooo badass, all Hell is about to break loose, and not to mention the amazing credits song after this scene!
Through the whole game War has done everything himself, he brought down the Destroyer and his followers more or less by himself. Then in the end of the game everyone is reminded once again that he's only one of four and the other three are coming to join their brother.

after playing 2 and 3 i love how they set up the seqaul to this and its story in a way that each horseman's story in the "prequal/parallels" has info that would spoil stuff in the game before it but instead with how they have come out adds to and fills in blanks of the story. i cant wait till Darksiders 5 to see what happens after this scene.
Trivia time:
In the book, DARKSIDERS: THE ABOMINATION VAULT, War on a mission in the White City, comes across a young Uriel who challenges him. War, who could've easily slain her, in a rare demonstration of mercy, knocks her out.
And here, we see the debt repaid.
I have a theory that the actual weapon war was sent to destroy was in fact Uriel. They had her guarding the weapon only as a decoy. I believe she is very powerful and doesn’t know that yet. Her not knowing doesn’t allow her to take full advantage of her abilities but maybe she will find out in Darksiders 5.

Been a long time since a game's ending gave me chills down my spine. So EPIC!
I think this ending is the best ever done, i never wanted more a sequel than when I've finished Darksiders. I also think Darksiders 2 was received so badly because everyone waited for a continuation of this ending, not fighting the fucking corruption.

Joels_Creed141 no not yet. Originally vigil said that War would have his story and Deafh, Strife, and Fury would be doing everything to free him. Darksiders 2, 3, and 4 were supposed to be their stories. And Darksiders three is said to release this year or next year
