Normally I pull out that first sensor, at work we clean dpf’s cars vans lorry’s in our BIG dpf washing machine , fortunately 1 out of 10 washes are some form of VAG. Mercedes, transits, Renault/Vauxhall junk are literally a daily occurrence. Re attach the v clamp remove the first sensor pour in dpf cleaner let it do it’s thing and a forced regen might do it. Proper washing it gets it to a nearly new state. Good video Alan keep up the good work 👍🏴
A rather short but concise video. Can you please produce another follow-up video showing the replacement of the DPF component. Thanks Allan.keep these videos going.
Get the dpf cleaned. i have the same engine in my 2012 passat and a few weeks ago my exhaust gas temperature sensor failed and wouldn't let the dpf regen even with vcds. So I took it to a company in Peterborough and had it cleaned and car is now running perfect again. Hope this helps.
Good diagnosis Alan. Looked a nice car. Surprised Miss Monika didn't come out and tell you off for being a boy racer around her car sales area! Cheers. Vivian.
Alan you can clean DPF out when removed from car had the same problem on VW 2.0 Tiguan to many short stop start trips. I was quoted nearly £2k for DPF parts as only made by VW no after market patent part available for my model hopefully you have better luck
Surely you would try a forced regen first, then second cleaning. Then investigate why it became blocked in the first place. Replacement is an expensive option 👍
a forced regen on a blocked dpf =s a new dpf anyway a forced regen only works on a partial blockage but if blockage is too bad the temps can raise too high damaging the dpf, first option is fix the problem blocking it then send it of for a reverse flush
This video has confirmed the intermittent flashing glow plug light on my TT. Been using a DPF cleaner on every half a tank. So far no more glow plug light on.
Oh no, my missus just bought a 2013 A1 1.6TDI S line sportback. It's low mileage, 56k and she does mostly short journeys. I know about these DPF issues anyway and she does give it a good run once or twice a week for a good hour or more constant running. Hopefully it's enough to melt the soot and stop it clogging.
How do you not put a dpf cleaner through the dpf. There is a youtube channel called O'Reilly's mobile mechanics who cleans out DPF with 100% success rate and he does it through the up stream port or through a sensor further up. Never removes them.
Give it a good hammering up the motorway see if that will unblock the dpf.I own a 2006 ford focus c-max (dm2) 1.6 tdci.I only do short journeys so the dpf gets blocked up every few weeks and goes into limp mode,Sometimes without throwing any codes up therefore i can do a static regen if not then i take it up the motorway and it always solves the prob,That dpf could prob be saved.
egr fault is the cause of the dpf overloading as the dpf will not regen with a stuck egr which is what the fault code means, also use the diag values to work out the soot/ash level threshold to see if a forced regen can be undertaken after replacing the egr.
Hi Alan love the channel great videos, wife has a similar prob with nissan QQ everytime during regen while driving it billows out smoke not black more grey and then it clears till the next just wonder if any thoughts could it be the egr being stuck or would dpf fit the description, cheers 👍
welcome to a world of pain, VAG egr +dpf changes, check the labour times, absolute rip-offs also, never use a cheap egr's, they will 100% bite your arse makes my shitty renault/nissan shite look easy to work on get the caustic soda cleaning people on the job, it actually works
My car dont wanna drive till 2000 rpm after pulls fine. Maf sensor, turbo selenoid, fuel filter done. Sometimes its smoked black when driving, can its be egr or dpf fault? Two mechanics looked cant found a problem. Turbo boosting allright, injectors looks fine. 1.6 crdi 😢
So how much will that all cost? Makes the saving on diesel rather pointless in my opinion. I 'll stick with my Mk3 Duratec 2L . Very interesting ,if depressing, to Adi diesel owners.
Hi Alan iv got similar problem we just can't fix. Ford Kuga 2011, We get to 71mph car goes into limp mode , now wev had dpf cleaned actuater mass air flow sensor changed a few times and STILL got the Problem. west do you think zit Is , thers no codes come up
I'm having the same issue with my a3 it won't tick over and cuts out instantly, how did you get the large collar off the turbo to exhaust mine won't budge?
I have a dpf light on dashboard but been getting white smoke from exhaust aswel could dpf be the cause ? Also it’s juttering I did get dual mass done so I don’t think it can be that would that be linked to dpf aswel 😅 ik absolutely nothing about cars
To many short stop start journeys or there's something else is wrong and that's why it's not doing it Regens I had loads of dpf problems with my insignia..
Why would you not just look at the live dater and see what the exhaust pressure are save some time why are you charging it try cleaning it first it may be ok the petrol may have caused it to overheat the DPF
DPF is Mechanical Filter!!!! Its not like catalyst! You actually can and should just clean it. PS. I personaly wash them my self i dont trust those washers that are out there... You live in UK so i bet oil burner cleaner is in hand to help the result.. ;)
Get some dpf foam cleaner in a can . Remove o2 sensor . Spray in dpf cleaner refit O2 sensor. Let it sit for 5mins . Start engine run on fast idle 2500rpm for 15-30 mins . Monitor live data for " differential pressure sensor " reading will be high at first maybe 80-100 mbar . Should come down to around 10 millibar if successful. Use the diagnostics to tell the computer is it had a new DPF on it to reset the soot values.

Won’t be any more problems with my DPF or EGR 🤌🏻

Get O Rileys involved maybe do a video together, he's a DPF Genius!
Try o Riley’s Mobille mechanics from Peterborough ,he will clean the dpf for a fraction of the price ,he also has a RUclips Chanel

So glad my dv6 dpf is both easily removal and is separate to the cat aswell unlike alot of brands, 2 bolts and 1 pipe 10 minutes and it's was off.
Surely you would try a forced regen first, then second cleaning. Then investigate why it became blocked in the first place. Replacement is an expensive option 👍
Probably blocked because the owner only does short journeys
a forced regen on a blocked dpf =s a new dpf anyway a forced regen only works on a partial blockage but if blockage is too bad the temps can raise too high damaging the dpf, first option is fix the problem blocking it then send it of for a reverse flush
Doing a forced regen on a blocked dpf would blow the turbo. Can on fo regens on partially blocked dpf
This video has confirmed the intermittent flashing glow plug light on my TT. Been using a DPF cleaner on every half a tank. So far no more glow plug light on.
Hi Alan. Very Good video very well explained as always I'd say you wanted to Do a few Handbrake turns 😀

Good stuff Alan, without the DPF it would be a pocket rocket😁👌👍🙂
Mr muscle oven cleaner, works all the time!
Heard that from someone else
Hundered 100%work i used in my car and work beautiful on my car and i save money😁😁😁😁😁😁
Top info as always my pal.

it's too far gone, it wont allow any gasses through to clean/burn it out. he had to disconnect the exhaust to get it to run caustic soda time
egr fault is the cause of the dpf overloading as the dpf will not regen with a stuck egr which is what the fault code means, also use the diag values to work out the soot/ash level threshold to see if a forced regen can be undertaken after replacing the egr.
Blank off the EGR then...😉
Always best having a good sturdy chair nearby when you hear a mechanic say those words ........It's not good!
Wonder if the petrol could have damaged the fuel injectors / pump? Poor spray pattern could make more soot and clog DPF maybe.
thats what i was wondering..possible, although dpf got blocked a month after the petrol was removed
DPF cleaner first before dismantling it??
O Riley's DPF world champion is needed
Alan what about the DPF doctor could they do anything to save the DPF
Interesting topic alan ...would you try do a forced regen on it ..
Driving a clients car like that is wild 😂
Hi Alan love the channel great videos, wife has a similar prob with nissan QQ everytime during regen while driving it billows out smoke not black more grey and then it clears till the next just wonder if any thoughts could it be the egr being stuck or would dpf fit the description, cheers 👍
if your not getting any eml lamps or running problems i would say its just doing a regen which also has a peculiar smell, nothing to worry about
@@alan4x cheers Alan 👍
Same problem on a Nissan QQ+2 keeps cutting out not revving past 2500 been told need new DPF over a grand any tips
Great video mate 👍
Thanks 👍
I had one of those engines in my Passat and my dpf was still showing only 8grams at 190,000 miles, wish I’d of kept it now.
So did you notice if the out put hose from intercooler to engine was collapsing when reving engine

@@mohammedshafiq4053 checked all seems ok I think it’s ECU issue. Gonna be scrapping it I think

Alan any way I can get hold of you got a Mondeo that I need timing belt water pump changed ?
Take it off and wash it out!
There are cleaning products out there to help...

Any chance of getting it out and clean it?
Lost count how meny egr iv done theses engines it basterd off job 👍
yeah, how to ruin a weeks bonus with one job....
@@paulriggers1558 lol
Good evening from Germany Alan. Why not try a forced regen?
forced regen only works if the dpf will still allow gasses through, this one is way past that point
@@paulriggers1558 thanks for the answer, thought there must have been a reason 👍

Hey Allan, who puts petrol in diesel cars is it a female owner? Lol short journeys cause blocked dpf's they need long runs glad you found the problem 👍

Me doing the same and just have a new 2 injector ( just done 3000Mile and aghen ) no power and 2700 max

Can't you just keep the DPF out and drive without? I know a couple people who do that. This is an actual bane to many diesel car owners.
That thing hasn't been driven like that for ages
What Oreilys autos this is all he does . Dpf,s
Spot on Edward - i concur Alan - jimmy will have that cleaned without turning a bolt. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Pour dpf cleaner in let it sit build it boot it regen it
Who cares ? The owner when the bill gets printed.
hi
Just flush it with Launch cleaner....
How much did you charge for the job
Why don't you just clean it launch DPF cleaner
that would have made a short boring video lol
