    Thanks for another great video.
When you said you hadn't an original idea, it reminded me of this quote from the author Andre Gide:

15 years ago I bought a set of expensive aluminum patio furniture. Over the years the sun took its toll on the finish and they were getting pretty unsightly. I tried painting them black and hated it. Couldn’t figure out what to do. Watched one of your videos and saw the deep blue for your chairs and tried that. I used a flat dark blue and absolutely love it. So I found inspiration in what you did!

After seeing seeing you do this, I just had to try it, I lost a couple from watering them to soon (my fault) but overall it was a huge success! I now can enjoy them more than a month earlier. Thank You!

Nice tour! I LOVE the last container with begonias. The whole area looked great! I thought the white trellis looked more like art, don't necessarily think it needs a vine to look great! And the very large container by front porch was a great one, too. Loved the plant color combo! Would love to see these end of September!

Omg Erin you are my garden spirit animal.. 😝 you always have the exact same issues in the garden as I do. I’m kicking myself for not starting nicotiana this year but I was trying to save myself from getting seedling overload as I also end up not being able to take care of everything as much as I want to. But it totally happened anyways! Right now I am trying to plant out 3” tall zinnia seedlings that have been so neglected .. cause that’s all I have left 🤷‍♀️ and I’m on the city’s garden tour next weekend! 😫 If I had done a better job at getting them in the ground they might have actually done something! I also do leftover pots.. but amazingly they can be some of the best ones!

I've found for sure growing from seeds requires planting a lot earlier than norm for big plants when it's time to plant. This is the first year I've had issues with powdery mildew on my impatiens,(I've always planted them, a fave of mine) I've just been lucky I guess, for we are very wet and humid here in the South. Lovely containers. Have a happy fourth of July!

Enjoyed seeing the planters you have planted up. I appreciate the notes you added in, like what didn't work. Your sharing that is great encouragement to know it's okay when things don't work and to just try something else and it is okay. On that note, a funny story told by an English gardenr I heard speack a few years ago...she said she would take photos of her containers, especially those that did not work out, and added them to a notebook under *NEVER DO THIS AGAIN* was hilarious!...but what a great idea.
Your urn with the Cannas....that is going to be spectacular! It reminded me of something my friend *Christina Salwitz*, who lives up north of me in Washington state would have done. She designs professionally and does beautiful large containers. If you are unfamiliar with her I recommend you check her out. She has a business called "The Personal Garden Coach" as well, has co-authored a book with Karen Chapmen and both are talented artists with plants and offer so much inspiration. Christina is a master at using form, texture and color in her designs, and as a matter of fact, your urn reminded me of her work. I am really looking forward to seeing those Cannas at their prime, that is a beautiful piece. Tell her I sent you...I get nothing for that but as you know sharing is caring. Seriously though she is a lovely person.
The Begonia boliviensis have become a favorite of mine here too and I cannot say enough about how wonderful they are in tall planters or in deck planters. I have mine planted in deck planters where the deck railing sets the planters above head level so you look up into the plants. I have a yellow form I found at a local nursery. *The Bossinova White are gorgous*...haven't seen that one here this year. I have a beautiful medium yellow that allows for that salmon to show on the back of the blooms too. I am such a fan. I want all the Begonias.... *I am in Portland and admittedly a very spoiled gardener with all the varieties available here* Enjoyed the tour very much. Havea happy July 4th

I adore your channel. Your garden is going to be exuberantly elegant I've decided, when the containers and the Belgian fence really take off. I love the mixture of formality (fence) and the kind of wild beauty of the flowers. It feels English to me, but please don't be insulted if that's not what you're going for. Your planters are fabulous and unusual;. You are so creative. I'm going to copy you, but it will be OK because I'm in North Carolina! I probably don't have room for a fence, and God knows I don't want a vegetable garden, but I would love to do an espalier on my detached garage. Your garden is an inspiration. (I'm the one who asked you for an update on the boxwood topiary you tried to repot. Did it make it?)

All of your containers are beautiful! The last one in the trough with the begonias is my favorite! I hope I can replicate it some day! Thanks for showing the botanical names. I did screenshots of all of them for future reference. Also, I loved your 'Kent Beauty' oregano so much from last year, that I ordered one and it is supposed to be delivered today! Yay!!! I can't wait to see it in person! I did order some ornamental oregano 'Kirigami' seeds and haven't planted them yet. Do you think they would look like 'Kent Beauty'?

Hi Dorothy!!! What a sweetie. Thank you for linking this planter box building blog post!! I was struggling with the same problem about finding the right planter for the right price to flank our front door/stairs, and was contemplating building. Maybe I will try lining with styrofoam like you did in your large planter in your vegetable garden? Anyway, this is great info. Thank you!!

So far that styrofoam is working out really well. It's early days, but so far so good.

I am so impressed! I store bought verbena and they have had such severe aphids attacks that only one is left and its not blooming at all.
