What was your point in making this video? I don't think you will ever understand how DIFFICULT being a teacher is - especially in elementary - if you've never done it. So don't judge her for leaving the position she's clearly super unhappy in. We all try jobs and if they're not meant for us and make us unhappy why shouldn't we leave?
Bad principals and supers, nasty teachers, unruly and indisciplined children, parents who take no responsibility, and you wonder why?
I don't agree with you at all Ken. I cant even watch this video all the way through. She was unhappy and she made a change. That is to be praised. It's an old fashioned way of thinking if you want someone to just feel stuck. There are far too many other options out there. It's not fair to her or the kids in that classroom that she stays in her teaching role if she's that unhappy.
As a nurse I relate. Many of us are tired and done.

Good for her. I made a big career change a couple yrs ago and I’m a million times better for it. I wouldn’t put it on social media but it’s a different generation that like to do that. I literally felt the way she did or like she made it appear. So many stay miserable at their jobs for a plethora of reasons, but some grab the bull by the horns and change. I can appreciate that.
Wow it's getting hard to listen to some of the stuff you guys say. You don't need a degree to get a Project Management job? Wtf where? I work every day with project managers and and operational managers and they all have degrees. Every single job posting requires at least a Bachelor's and prefer a Master's.
Sorry that teacher video was dumb too. You didn't like it? Great. Quit and walk away like the millions of the rest of us when we move on. I left teaching almost 10 yrs ago and I didn't make it into a self centered video. There was no context into why she quit and Ken made it into a bigger story. Maybe she shouldn't have been teaching in the first place. If you're a teacher you've seen ppl come into the field that were unable to manage a classroom and it didn't work for them despite their intentions.

I have felt the same way listening to him sometimes. I think a better way to phrase what he is saying is you don’t need a degree to be a successful project manager. You could get specific training in half the time and a quarter of the cost and still do the job very well. Yes, most or all require the degree now but many want that to change and the companies might be forced to change it. It’s possible both employers and employees would be much better off with a new way of doing things.
The young teacher actually has a multitude of videos leading up to this one. She even tried switching to another school. Among MANY other things, She has been physically assaulted by children who suffered no consequences and ended up back in her classroom to do it again. This not uncommon these days. Very few of us can put up with this. We were trained to educate not to manage classes of kids who are not accountable to the adults in their lives. We love but we cannot handle them.
Good for her. Greedy companies, bad bosses, terrible management is why everyone is quitting. Nobody wants to put up with this BS anymore. I imagine there is probably several bad apples over at Ramsey Solutions too. Everywhere you go there’s always an A-hole

My husband was a project manager and he loved doing it. He loved streamlining his company's processes to work better and more efficiently. I am so proud of the work he loved doing and the man he was for me and our girls. We miss him very much bit he enjoyed his job and he enjoyed his life.

I can see both sides of the argument. Life is too short to stay somewhere you hate. At the same time, I’m curious if she took a hiatus, stepped down to subbing, or took some antidepressants (if she already wasn’t) though.
Don't think you have the popular opinion here.
I think it takes strength to look in the mirror and ask yourself what change needs to take place in your life to change unhappy circumstances. I agree, rough patches happen, burn out happens, and then it gets better....but sometimes it doesn't. Then one day you'll look back at an unfulfilled life, stuck at a job for loyalty reasons or the money, and realize you wish you would have done things differently. Sometimes change needs to happen. Life is too short! I wouldn't want a teacher to teach my kids if their heart wasn't in it anyways.
P.s.
It's one thing if someone has a pattern of this behavior and they keep quitting everything that ever gets "hard." I think there is something to be said for that.
Now, Ken. Are you A) excited she quit, B) lauding businesses such as Ramsey Solutions for doing their own training, C) dumping on the educational system, or D) all of the above?
I taught for 2 years-high school English. I learned that most kids don’t give a damn, teachers think they’re better than you, and administration won’t back you up- good riddance!
My youngest son is a Substitute teacher and the stories he tells 😧, I’m surprised anyone gets into teaching
Physiologically stayed the same. Physically and psychologically...yes, she's happier.
I taught elementary in San Francisco for most of my career. Being a good teacher that focuses on critical thinking skills is a very rewarding job. However, even in the best of times, it is a REALLY hard job being on the frontlines - having to answer to the administration; the parents and the students themselves. Also, you’d better love it because in the SF Bay Area where I taught, your salary will be considered low income. It would be impossible to buy a house here on a teacher’s salary. This is one of the reasons we are facing a huge teacher shortage in California.
Two of the hardest and most miserable parts of teaching is dealing with the paperwork and parents. I’ve heard this many times.

Keep in mind most TikTok creators are more interested in pandering to their audience rather than telling the truth. So we don't know if this particular TikTokker is really happy to have left or if she's just acting to get more followers.
bro, you are deluded if you think anybody wouldn't have that reaction to quitting their job. Jobs are not fun, they're not meant to be "dreams," and there is no such thing as a "dream job." We work because we have to, period.
You apparently have never been a teacher? I have been teaching for over 10 years and the education system is broken period. Teaching is a grind and it sucks, kids are out of control plus there is no room for advancement.
You apparently also haven’t let yourself dream. There’s a job out there meant for you, but you’re not dreaming, so you haven’t found it. Even dream jobs have parts you’ll dislike...but it’s still something that makes you happy and gives you a sense of purpose. You should definitely dive into more of Ken’s videos and you should also read his books/take the assessment. So worth it.

We can do something about it. Teachers need better pay and more resources, including more teachers and aids so they don't have ratios of 30 kids to 1.
But no one wants the increase in taxes .....can't have our cake and eat too 🤷♀️
We have no problem increasing taxes when the money is used properly, but when we do the administrators take the money we gave you, so now we no longer are ok with that.
