  • Grandson of the man who sold the first hamburger, Kenneth Lassen, appears in second game of To Tell The Truth. Features "Louis Lunch" the New Haven CT luncheonette where you can still get their famous burger on toasted bread, operating since 1895 and cooked in the same vertical flame cookers. A young Jeff Lassen (current head chef) can be seen in the closing credits (verified).

What a fantastic piece of TV history. We visited Louis Lunch back in November 2023. Great burgers and the experience of our lifetime.
    Greetings from Dortmund, Germany.

Great show. Louis' Lunch is legend! Ps wonder if they show could work today, given that almost everyone has social media? The element of surprise might be compromised?

My dad switched to a gas grill to do the outdoor family grilling and what he'd grilled was never the same as with charcoal. It just was never as good. So, he eventually went back to using charcoal.

Cheeze Wiz is used instead. Of a slice because it would melt.
