I have this set and love it. Quick tip: To take the mixing tray out, position it at 90 degrees and lift straight up. Use the same 90 degree position to put the tray back in. If you push or pull from any other angle you risk breaking the pegs. 😊
@@TheGypsyChic1 you’re welcome! BTW I only have plastic palettes. I like the light weight of plastic palettes and I’m clumsy, I have a tendency of dropping and breaking ceramics. The paint ‘beading’ on plastic palettes doesn’t bother me in the slightest, but what does bother me is how difficult it is to wash plastic palettes. I’m not keen on running my palettes in the dishwasher, but also my plastic palettes would probably warp if washed in the dishwasher. I let my plastic palettes soak for hours and still sometimes the paint stubbornly sticks. Is it easy to wash ceramic palettes? I have my eyes on one Meeden palette, the 7” x 7” eight-well ceramic palette.
I also enjoy the convenience of plastic palettes, but not the staining. Once I tried ceramic, I never went back. But, I paint everyday. I have a designated dish brush with a handle, just for washing my ceramic palettes. So, I find it super quick and easy. I haven't tried the 7" x &" palette. It's probably a great palette, but I prefer bigger mixing areas, personally. I do have several Meeden palettes though and I purchased most myself. I really enjoy them all. I think it would just be personal preference of which one you would like the best. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.💗
Thanks so much for the honest review. I just want to buy it to get the palette, so I can put my own paints in there! I love MEEDEN too! I have a lot of their products and I was thinking about getting the 10 drawer chest as well as some of the porcelain palettes now because of your recommendations. When I saw yours, I was convinced. I just received a bunch of their canvases and paper but haven't tried the paper out yet. Looking forward to trying out the paper now. I have the French easel and tabletop easel as well from them and have thoroughly enjoyed them! Thanks for sharing all the products you enjoyed from MEEDEN too and have a great week! Do you know if standard half pans fit in the MEEDEN palette?
You are so welcome! Thanks for sharing, I would have too. Meeden makes some really great products. I'm so happy the video helped inspire you! I would love to know how you like the Meeden canvases. Canvases are on my wish list, but I've never painted on canvas before. I hope you love the paper as much as I do. Your art studio must be a dream come true with the french easel! I have that on the wish list, too! ;D Standard half pans fit, but just a hair too small. So you will need to use an adhesive to keep the pans from falling from the top lid. The bottom lid has the fold out mixing tray to keep them in place. There isn't much of a gap, just enough to slip out. I hope that makes sense. Or, you pry the paints out and gift them to a new artist to use, and fill the half pans yourself. I hope that helps! 💗
Thanks for the sale information. I don’t need any more budget watercolors, but that palette does look very nice. I ordered the wooden drawers after watching your video early this year. I love them, now I want two sets like you. 😂 Your painting at the end is beautiful. Thanks as always for what you do. ❤
Looks like a fun set for a really young person, or craft/hobby painter, maybe someone who likes those fancy coloring books. If I wanted to encourage someone’s artistic ability, I would take that $39 and buy them a 3 set of primary colors from an artist grade brand, or the Daniel Smith Essentials set. As you said, best way to learn. I do like some of the porcelain palettes and water holders I’ve seen from this company, though.
Yes, it's a really fun set for someone new to watercolors or just for fun to get out of an art block. I agree, that is my favorite set to recommend for professionals. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you! I'm not sure about coloring books, to be honest. I would think they would be great for the Dana Fox books, where the pages can take water well. The palette is super fun! Sorry I can't be of more help. 💗
@TheGypsyChic1 You enabled me... 🤣 I bought the palette and love it. I haven't tried the paints yet. I may purchase another one for my artist-grade paints. Thanks again!
You are so welcome!! Haha, I'm so glad you love it! It's a fun palette. Watch my video where I painted an owl with these paints. I show how I removed the paints to add artist grade. That might save you from buying a second palette. Haha of course, unless you "need" another one! I'm always happy to enable you, or save you...which ever you need more! 💗

Thanks for sharing! Yes, I shared that later on in the video after swatching. Thanks for the warning for others. I'm so glad to hear you love it! 💗
These paints look like nice. Love the painting at the end. Thanks!
They are fun! I will be sharing another video using and comparing them. Thank you, Shadow! 💗

@@TheGypsyChic1 thanks for your input. I have the one Meeden palette on my wish list. I’ll see how long I can wait until I finally snap and buy it. 😇
They do offer good sales often, plus I have a 10% off coupon when you are ready. You probably always do, but double check on Amazon, too. ;D

Thank you, Ann! Yes, I like the palette too. I love the drawers and would like a few more eventually. Thank you!! 💗
I liked the case, I know the painting is not so good but looking at those colors is pleasing.
Thank you! Yes, I like the palette too. The are just for fun paints, at a really good price. 💗

I'm wondering if these would be good in coloring books since they lean opaque. I want the palette itself...lol. TFS!
