Lyrics romanized & subtitled by H. of JROCK Philippines ( GAZ.PH).
千鶴 [chizuru] is originally a coupling song for HYENA (maxi-single) then it was included in STACKED RUBBISH (album). This PV, however, is released with FILM BUG II (a compilation of PVs from REGRET up to Before I Decay), that is after the movie version of the PV has been released. The movie version includes some scenes from the Korean movie "Apartment," where it was used as the ending song.
As for the composition of this song, I am not sure who should be credited, as all official sources I have seen indicate "the GazettE" as a whole, not just Uruha. If you can link me to an interview stating this is Uruha's song, that will be highly appreciated.
By the way, in the lyrics the original phrase is 寒色の現実 "kanshoku no genjitsu" (cold-colored reality) but RUKI sings it as 今 "ima" so it's been changed 寒色の今 "kanshoku no ima" (cold-colored present moment) in the subs.
Because somebody asked and before others ask, ALL of the GazettE's members are MALES. :)
¤ 190531更新：I've taken down the English translation because it's outdated (it was made during a time I was struggling with Japanese and had multiple ideas regarding Chizuru). I made a newer translation with revised wording (and understanding) but I lost it. I recommend Kii's translation (heresiarchy.tumblr.com/post/5...) which is similar to my newer translation but with better words -- and is a better translation than mine in general, I think. You can also check out Jamie K.'s translation in the comments below (pinned).

I think it's not a bad translation, if not a bit literal with a few mistakes I caught. Like you seemed to confuse "kikoete" with "kikasete" at the end. Still, good job! Translation is hard and there's a lot going on in this song.
I also like that it seems Ruki is singing about a woman he lost, but overall the language is genderless/somewhat feminine, so you could also interpret it as a bride marrying someone she doesn't want to, thinking about her true love. This is my take on it, but of course there are numerous ways to translate it depending on how poetic or literal you want to be.

Thanks for your input! I worked really hard on this and at that time, I was struggling with Japanese. (But I am still struggling now because I haven't taken the language seriously the past 8 years... I wish I did but I have no motivation...) T-T
I have updated versions and I wasn't able to update this since then. I think it's really hard to translate this because I really couldn't get what he means to say, especially with "utsubuse no asu". I don't get that at all. T___T

i'm way past my japanese fever from my puberty and my emo-attempted times, but i've got to admit that the gazette's songs are the best ones in j-rock/visual-kei/hard j-rock, i like how ruki doesn't force his voice too much and i just love some of their songs, they are very well composed and complicated. in my opinion, the best song so far has been Pledge, that's just awesome, then goes cassis, then this one, the invisible wall, guren, and...i'm pretty sure i'm missing some others that i really like...they are the only j-rock artist i still keep songs of from years ago

I can't believe Reita passed away, this is my favorite song of The Gazette since I was a highschooler and it breaks my heart to see this again, such a beautiful song, the best group ever, Reita will always live through his music 💐💐💐

+ThaTOnE CooLGuY Actually, learning Japanese is not THAT difficult. The only hard things are the vocabulary and the kanji. I'm learning Japanese at school since 2 years, and I'm going to study Japanese only at college in September. Kind of lucky, I guess?.. haha

+Kebyケビ It's widely considered the most difficult language for native English speakers to learn. An average estimated time to reach conversational proficiency is 2,200 hours.
+ThaTOnE CooLGuY You could buy a book to properly learn Japanese, but they are very expensive (at least in my city they are very expensive!) and a bit hard to understand everything by yourself. I wish you good luck!

I miss the good old days when I found amazing bands from Japan like The GazettE, back then they gave me so much faith to change, and inspired me to learn Japanese and make art, I was so happy back then :) I hope one day I will be able to find some days that give me back the same good feeling, but still, I will always be grateful

I fell for the gazette when I heard this song at 9, I’m now 22. Old as the band, it seems wrong that we can only send messages of comfort when their songs have held us dearly in stages of our life.
Reita’s presence in the band seemed motherly I really hope the members take time to grieve taking good care of their health.
I’ve cried countless times but I pull out of it recounting how sweet and passionate he was especially when he teared up on stage and the members laughed and patted him. I truly treasure every thing the gazette has made especially the memories they shared with us
