Clerkship to Immediate Care, JABSOM Students Assist Maui Fire Survivors

On August 8, 2023, wildfires destroyed much of Lāhainā town. Survivors were left with burns and wounds from escaping the inferno. Others lost precious medication for other immediate health concerns. JABSOM students Ashley Lee and Joshua Kepler (MD 2025) were on Maui for their clerkships and immediately provided medical care for those who needed it. This is the story of what they saw and did in the aftermath of one of the biggest tragedies in Hawaiʻi.
