The fact the friend called herself a slur as an introduction to her being a psychic should’ve been the first clue for OP’s wife lol. NTA, I wouldn’t trust her not to cause similar problems in the immediate future.

It's possible the friend used that word to describe herself it wouldn't be a slur to those actually of descent. Or she liked it because it made her psychic ness feel more legit

NTA. Lots of people fall for psychics. OP’s ex learned a hard lesson. I am confused as to why she wouldn’t find evidence for the divorce first before blowing up her life because then she would have found there was none. She must have really believed.

NTA! And I wonder if Rona is still close with the psychic “friend” because you know said friend more than likely doesn’t feel bad about it. Also, love OPs humor! I’ll never be able to not think of vibrator when people talk about vibes. Lol!

Recording thing depends on your state. Some they need to know and need to consent, some they just need to know and some dont need to know at all

NTA. Keep going with the divorce proceedings. She fell for this nonsense too easily and had a knee-jerk reaction that destroyed what was a stable relationship and good marriage. If she's that gullible and spontaneous where her solution to problems causes such chaos and wreaks so much havoc, OP is better off without her. Raising children who will learn behavior from her behavior is a sobering, frightening thought. That she doubted her husband's fidelity so quickly and moved out even faster shows she's willing to think the worst of her spouse based on someone else's words and not her own reality: she listened to vicious fabrications and took that at face value like a child believes in Santa Claus. What a level of immaturity! OP deserves better in all regards. Divorce. Move on. Fall in love with someone who trusts, values, respects and cherishes you. Let her go. If she's got any common sense left, she'll divorce herself from that so-called friend, too, who destroyed her marriage.

To your recording question, it varies state to state. Some only require single party consent, meaning only one person involved in the conversation needs to connect to being recorded. Some states require everyone involved give consent.

NTA! You're right OP, the trust is gone and will never return. I am curious as to what she thinks of her friend's psychic abilities now that they've not only been proven wrong, but they've cost her a marriage?

The best aporoach to potential infidelity in a relationship is to believe your partner is faithful until you have evidence to the countrary. Unless your partner is a complete idiot, there normally isn't a way to preemptively know they will cheat.
As for OP's wife, it's not so much she fell victim to a pseudoscience like pychic powers, but rather she didn't give her partner the benefit of the doubt. The fact her "evidence" was a flimsy pseudoscience just adds salt to the wound.
Claims of infidelity are serious accusations that can demolish a relationship and should be supported by equally serious and authentic evidence. Otherwise you risk destroying a perfectly good relationship over what amounted to practically nothing.

I mean, when it comes to this Anna friend, look, believe you're psychic or whatever by all means, if that helps you in YOUR life. But don't for a second go accusing people of cheating based on this and ruining other people's lives. If you suspect such a thing you either A: Get evidence (reasonably) and prove it, or B: Shut the heck up, because you can ALWAYS be wrong. Whether you believe strongly in the supernatural or not is beside the point, to pretend you have all the answers to someone else's life is absurd and dangerous.
I know that some people have their reasons for believing in such things, be it religious or otherwise. Heck, I've dabbled in tarot and things like that before for myself, but I know the pain it can cause too and am cautious not to take it too seriously. It's ruined my relationship with a friend who believed too much in her tarot cards, claiming she could be my "mentor" in life in general, which I refused and she got upset.
At the end of it all, whatever powers you believe you have, you don't KNOW crap about others. Don't go around hurting others with your palm readings. Don't talk about what you can't back up with evidence.

Yeah, even during the Salem Witch Trials you couldn't get convicted on spectral evidence (that is, evidence that purportedly came from dreams or visions) alone.

The fact he pointed out that he "barely had time for his relationship with his wife"... but did have time to regularly golf; tells me there were other problems in the relationship.
Neglect from a partner certainly leaves the door open for insecurities to grow, and people that are in emotional distress are far more likely to be vulnerable to put their trust in a psychic. That's literally how most psychics operate, preying off of emotional vulnerability.
