Alice's perfect description of being an 18 year old guy. Feeling like one is indestructible and immortal, but so insecure. Now I'm 70 and secure, but the sands of the hour glass are running out!

Drunk as a skunk, forgets the words to the first verse, can barely stand up, and totally blows tossing around the mic stand. Still puts on a killer performance. I love Alice.

I was a young kid in the 1970s. I remember fondly all the older kids in the neighborhood. Long hair, flare legged pants, flannel, denim vests with lots of patches. I thought the older kids were weird and a little bit intimidating. But there were a lot of cool older kids and mostly people were friendly. They listened to music like this, with rooms covered in posters and black lights. Definitely was very cool to grow up in the 70s.

Alice Cooper (Band) was one of the best, hardest rock bands of the 1970s (and all time). They were actually one of only a handful of titan groups on the level of Sabbath, Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, and a very finite list of others. If that wasn't amazing enough, this stuff has aged incredibly well (compared to many of his contemporaries and music of the period) and really is timeless classic rock.

She should’ve introduced you to the Eagles, the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton or even Alvin Lee….they defined three generations. Alice cooper defined a small wet spot in musical history. When I mentioned him to my grandson, he had to google him. Yet he’s totally familiar with the musicians I mentioned at the beginning. He wasn’t impressed in the least with what he found…lol

Turned 18 in 72. Great time. Great music. Any kid who wanted one could find a summer job. College was affordable for middle class. The pill had been invented and Aids was a decade away from rearing its ugly head. We kids had real friends not Facebook ones.

Actually, the first documented AIDS fatality was in 1969, when 16 year-old Robert Rayford succumbed to the illness. It is likely that HIV was being transmitted in 1973, but it wasn’t recognized as a disease until the early 80s when mostly gay men began dying from it. Some were likely HIV positive for YEARS prior.

For the times I've been dismissive of Cooper as a rock star parody, glammed up with eyeliner, I have to tip my cap to him for this full-on rendition of "I'm Eighteen."
Epic. Imagine if we all performed this well at our jobs.
And he's likely lit up but look at the commitment in a seemingly effortless display of attitude and meaning. An ounce of this is worth a barrel of any other.
It's rock at, or near, maximum hardness. For all the pomp and circumstance of that scene, the tumbling boulders in this version of "I'm Eighteen" prove Cooper was more than parody - the band hammers home the reality of it all.

@@jimmiehultman5351 That sounds like the version from the live album "The Alice Cooper Show" released 1977. It's after Alice had been solo for a few years. Good version but this Beat Club version is by far, my favorite! Love the original band!

Me and my dad finally had something to talk about. It's crazy how war can bring a father & son closer together. He used to love Alice Cooper.
