    One of my favorite parts about bass fishing, especially tournament fishing, is the mental side of the game. If you can fish smarter and not harder, it will lead to more success for you out on the water!
    BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

    Hey man, I just wanted to say thanks for introducing me to the chatterbait. A few days ago I caught my PB pike in great sacandaga lake! I was feathering a jackhammer along the bottom and wham! A 42 inch pike. I never could have caught it without all the chatterbait tips.

    I enjoyed your message today because I see this all the time on my home water in southeastern Michigan. I have access to a 150 acre private lake (no public access, but access granted to about 150 residences, most of whom are not anglers). The silty bottom lake varies from 1 to 18 feet in depth. I watch other anglers jigging and fishing the deepest portions of the lake and I fish the shallowest portions of the lake. One particular portion ranges from 1 to 3 feet and has a lot of weeds. Most boats can't get in there, but I think that the depth and lily pads and weeds just turn people away. I never fail to catch fish there; and when the weather conditions are poor, I go to this area and always catch fish. Great video.

    I fish a stupidly insanely pressured lake. How pressured? Well, there are about 1.5 million people in my local region and the only lake we have is about 640 acres. So, yeah. The boat ramp is so crammed up, guys are parking on the grass and getting into fights because they get blocked in. Yet with my little plastic boat, I catch fish. I always catch fish. Nice fish too! I can get to where they can't. I fish what they won't. I went out today and caught 16 in a little over 2 hours as I watched boat after boat turn around because they couldn't... or wouldn't get to where I was.

    I've gone to the back of creeks, past everything AND everyone, doing what you did.. that spot in Oct/Nov will be a fish on every cast!
    Nanjamoy Creek on the Potomac, squarebill perch colored bait in the laydown logs... 50+ a day!
    Great info!

    Largemouth have been chasing shad for some time now where I fish in VA. For a while, they were crushing the chug bug. But lately, any topwater lure has been pretty much useless. By transitioning to a rooster tail or spoon, I’m still catching some quality fish during the early morning shad runs.

    Somedays you just have to go behind guys and drag a shakeyhead around. Seems like that almost always will get some bites when nothing else will work. As a kayak guy, finding that deeper water in the back of a creek is like a dream come true situation.

    Great video Ty, sometimes you've got to be different. I was Brent Chapman's media co-angler for the 2000 BASS Classic in Chicago. The look on his face said it all when I pulled out a spinning rod and rigged the 1/8 ounce mushroom jig with a 4 inch skirted grub. Remember this was 23 years ago and those "sissy sticks" weren't exactly mainstream yet. After a couple of smaller but chunky largemouth he took notice. Power fishing bigger baits wouldn't cut it. Thanks for sharing

    Hey ty I have a question about fishing pressure. My lake gets lots of pressure for it’s size it’s quite small and there’s lots of trout, carp, and crappie fishermen as well as bass fishermen what do you think is the best way to figure where the bass are?

    I went to a pond where people only used soft plastics, and I tossed a yozuri rattlin vibe and caught my very first bass ever at 3 pounds.

    Yeah it gets shallow then it will get deep and I fish the James river if you ever come down here you should try fishing chapokes creek with a Texas rig with a red culprit worm 👍

      Need more info of water clarity,depth,structure,grass. Flowing water, temperature of water.
      But I have found lately here in SC that the fishing has been a lot better in early mornings and almost dark til around 10 pm. The water here is very warm.

    • @MikeCostelloOutdoors

      Find the deepest dark piece of shade or deep water grass. I like the jig with a strike king rage craw or a top water near shade lines

      @@MikeCostelloOutdoors I can catch like 1 or 2 on top water and that’s about it in the morning. But you can usually see about 3ft in the water, pretty much no grass to my knowledge, there is rocks and lay downs. Also not much current aswell. I fish around 2 - 7 foot.

    • @MikeCostelloOutdoors
      @MikeCostelloOutdoors 10 месяцев назад

      Football jig or a square bill would be my suggestion. If you go with a jig I would try different trailers to see what they bite. My two favorites are the rage craw and Dbomb

    What do you do if you are the main “pressure” fisherman on a small pond of two acres 😉

    • @Oldbasshole
      @Oldbasshole 10 месяцев назад +1

      Switch up the baits you throw . Put down the ones you typically throw and grab something new . If you throw a walking bait throw a wakebait instead , hard Jerkbait switch to a fluke etc etc

    The east bay in California is heavy pressured. We got reservoirs that are the biggest bodies of fresh water and everyone fishes em. Plus our droughts, bass fishing is tough here. 👎🏾👎🏾
