    Tyler, am I glad I watched this before heading out yesterday. The senko was catching a few, but not many and the chatterbait tanked. After a storm, I decided to try the popper (which I had not used in years). I ended up with 7 more in the boat in about an hour. Thanks!

    I am 45 years old. I have fished for 40 years. I am really pretty good at it. There are very few RUclips fishermen that I can stand to watch. You are one of them. Thank you for teaching me a few new things!

    I absolutely love poppers. It's my go to bait. Even in times where you'd think they wouldn't work, they do just with different techniques... I like to do a quick flick of the rod to make the popper flop around but not move forward. As if it was a dying fish. Instead of the typical motion which acts like bait fish hitting the surface. Works all the time!

    Couldn't agree more with this list. I need to experiment with the spy baits but 3 of the other 4 always get play in July. I find fish with the Popper and topwater frog and then go back through with a Texas rig. Always a good 1-2 punch.

    Knew a lot of this, but didn't know about spy baits. Interested to try one, but I've just started experimenting with swim jigs, chatterbaits, and poppers. Love to see content from someone based in the north though! Would be blown away if I ever had the chance to fish with you.

    nice vid, Tyler! Yep agree especially on the spybait GFix80. Some days when bass are schooling and they drop down, the spybait can get bit. Med-light rod is the key like you said. You will lose some fish, but having some flex in the rod definitely helps.

    Pit Boss is a versatile soft plastic. For instance, I got an 11lb freshwater drum on a Carolina rig, 6lb blue cat on the same setup, and numerous large spotteds and largemouths on the Texas rig with a Pit Boss threaded on.

      Size 4-1 Owner Mosquito Light hooks and any 2.5-4.5” worm/minnow bait. Three sizes of weights 1/8, 1/4, 3/8 oz. for depth and current adjustments. Pencil weights for grass pyramid/round/teardrop weights for rock. Tag end 12-24” long depending on size of rocks/height of grass and if you are casting or truly dropshotting. As light of fluoro as you are comfortable with fishing. 6’-10” Medium Light Spinning rod with a 3000 size reel braid to leader or straight fluoro. That’s dropshotting

    Something I have to get through my head is “stained” water here is still very clear compared to other parts of the country. I may lose the ability to see bottom past 7-10 feet, but if you swim down to the bottom, you can see much further laterally and up (fish’s perspective). Some lakes here you can see bottom in more than 20 FOW.

    Everyone puts out a top 5 baits for this month video and they are all different baits. Could it the top 5 bait for any particular month could be 5 baits you are confident in using. I understand the extremes, such as winter techniques but I feel that bass are not that predictable. If they were every pro would end up at the same spot fishing the same lure. Love the videos. Keep up the great work.

    Bass fishing is not hot, tyler. Sorry to say for June 30, 2023.I fished in 90 F degree weather today (here in northern Illinois) all early afternoon and into the evening. And bass are not biting. I even had polarized sunglasses , fishing in the shade in low mater with scattered weeds. literally wiggled my bait in their face and they were not interested at all.

    • @Psykout
      @Psykout Год назад

      Did you recently have a cold front move through? That can easily turn things off and push them to feed off slower bottom baits rather than up high or mid column. Also in my experience, after days of bluebird skies and heat, it's the morning bite that really comes through, so afternoon into evening is the hardest time to be on the water.
