Which N64 games do you still pick up and play?
Banjo-Tooie is a mastapiece, amazing soundtrack, boss fights, characters, art style, it's a really fun game.
Hybrid Heavrn is very unique and great
Wave Race 64 deserves to be on this list
Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, Paper Mario, Mario Golf, Super Mario 64, Diddy Kong Racing, Mario Party 2 and 3, Bomberman 64, Chameleon Twist, Dr. Mario 64 and Pokémon Stadium 1 and 2
WatchMojo - The N64 is crushing the Nintendo Switch
Not bad, but would probably add Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Puzzle League and F-Zero X
Even though I have fond memories of Goldeneye, the game has not aged well, mostly due to its controls and horrid level design.
Same goes for Perfect Dark, which also had performance issues. Though fortunately the remake on Rare Replay fixed those issues, so that's still enjoyable.
Goldeneye has NOT aged well, it's a pain in the ass to control in these modern times
@@marcroberts5251 True that it hasn't aged well, but that doesn't mean it's not worth playing anymore.
@@ajboomer1347 true, did you see the fan made version of G.E ? 60fps modern controls it's dope
@@marcroberts5251 Yes.
Say what you want, but it's undeniable that Rare's best hits were on the N64; conker, banjo, goldeneye... Who can forget them?
Not only those, Perfect Dark, Donkey Kong 64 and Jet Force Gemini :)
Who said differently?
@@rabidsalvation9021 What I meant to say was "pull out any title you want", I wasn't objecting as if someone had denied the quality of Rare's titles
Perfect Dark especially. That game still has more multiplayer customization options than any modern shooter.
I would never forget them, CBFD, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie are one of my favorite video games of all time ^^
Diddy Kong racing is still one of my fav games of all time.
Here's to hoping for N64 online for switch!
Yee
Agreed
I would prefer a N64 mini classic :D, i would buy that thing day one!
dude that would be sick, imagine they give us conkers bad fur day with that lol or even goldeneye
@@osmanisanchez5248 * Perfect Dark
Seeing Diddy Kong Racing as the first game as a whole in the video, I already know this video will be worth it
Yes
Facts
One of my favorite games from childhood.
Super Mario 64, Paper Mario and DKR and deeply connected to my childhood! I still play them every now and then. Gemstones.
I'm glad he put Paper a Mario on here too, I still have my copy and don't plan on letting it go.. 😝😎
Um Where is Golden eye, Perfect Dark, and Mario party?
@matt fahringer is that for you or are u speaking for everyone?
Imo, Goldeneye and Perfect Dark didn't stand the test of time. Fps' have just come so far. They're hard to play now.
@@stephenmcdonald1648 I kinda agree with that, they definitely have their charm, but the single stick movement is weird for today's standards. However, the games still stand the test of time in their level design and I would argue that, at least for Goldeneye since I haven't played Perfect Dark, they were less of an FPS and more of stealth game with some run and gun levels. For example, Facility or Bunker are stealth-like imo while Runway and Cradle are more run and gun. As an FPS, it didn't age well, but as an overall game, it is a must play imo
This nigguh just forgot Mario party it’s like at least top 3 most playable lmao the rest are spot on
@@Diandre88 the list is perfect except for a banker which was Mario party which is suss, don’t think the guy actually played it tbh
I wouldn’t mind the Pokémon Stadium 2 being the honorable mention. But I was actually hoping that the first Pokémon Stadium would be added to the list as well
Yeah, seriously. I mean, besides the new Pokémon, what made the second game different from the first?
Jet Force Gemini. Easily one of my top 5 N64 games.
Agreed one of my all time favorite childhood games is definitely jet force gemini.
I pray one day Nintendo and Microsoft can put Diddy Kong Racing on the Switch one day.
Or give us a “Nitro Fueled” style remake.
Microsoft wouldn't have to be involved. Though Rare deved the game, it's a Nintendo IP, all they're have to do is get another studio to remaster it.
Nintendo owns the IP. Banjo and conker just won’t be in it but everyone else from that game can be. They made a Diddy Kong racing for the ds back in the day.
The Turok trilogy. Especially Seeds of Evil. Best FPS of that generation IMO.
Seeds of Evil doesn't get nearly enough love.
@Drop Out i bought it on xbox one a few years back. Think id get it on Switch if anything now.
I know I’m in the minority....but I really liked the first turok game the best.
Rage Wars was IMO the best multiplayer shooter on the console.
@@tomhammond3495 Seeds of Evil had an amazing single player campaign as well as split screen multiplayer. Thats like saying Overwatch is the best modern shooter. Gross.
Here are the N64 games I enjoy playing:
Super Mario 64
Mario Kart 64
Star Fox 64
Diddy Kong Racing
Banjo-Kazooie
Yoshi’s Story
Super Smash Bros.
Pokémon Snap
Donkey Kong 64
Pokémon Stadiums 1 & 2
Banjo-Tooie
Mickey’s Speedway USA
Rugrats in Paris
Powerpuff Girls
I think you missed one of the greatest features about Banjo Tooie: All of the worlds connected. It was so interesting to see these secret tunnels between worlds. Not to mention the train that ran through all the worlds.
Always live life the way you use bombs.
Perfect Dark: A well-realized extension of everything that made Goldeneye 007 great, complete with an embarrassment of unique weapons (a gun that transforms into a laptop or a powerful sentry gun, an assault rifle you can set to detonate like a proximity mine), an entire set of multiplayer scenarios and a co-op/counter-op mode.
Star Wars Racers, WWF Wrestlemania, No Mercy, Attitude, NASCAR 2000, 98, Banjo-Kazooie and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense are still the games I still play and enjoy.
Wrestlemania 2000 was probably my favorite. WcW/NWO revenge was also really damn good.
Was hoping I saw conkers bad furday on the list. Glad I did! One of the best games ever made. As a kid it blew my mind.
III am the great mighty pooooo, and I'm gonna throw my shit at youuuu!!! Lol
Believe me, I've got most of those games like Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, AND Diddy Kong Racing on the N64 and I still love playing them. Gotta believe it, the N64 was the gift I got from my maternal grandmother and I have been HOOKED on Mario and other video games since then.
How the hell can anyone forget Goldeneye? Next to Mario Kart 64, Goldeneye is my go to N64 title
You must be pretty embarrassed about forgetting Goldeneye and Perfect Dark
Have you tried playing those games TODAY? They're horrible
I mean, those are two games that have aged poorly. Sure, Perfect Dark got mostly fixed in Rare Replay, but Goldeneye, while great for its time, is pretty bad when compared to modern FPS games today
You guys are wrong perfect dark and goldeneye those were the best shooters
@@TaiSwift05 They were back in the 90s they're horrible by today's standards. The list is games that are still worth playing TODAY not games that were great when they came out. They have not aged well.
@@TheToyRoom idk about that cuz i still play those games and they were not that bad
I still love the Nintendo 64, it was awesome console back in the day
Perfect dark. Perfect dark. Perfect dark.
*Boots up perfect dark right now to go and play it.*
Banjo-Tooie is the most complete platform adventure game of all time.
Sadly, nobody remembers Goemon's Great Adventure. It has aged pretty well.
I remember! "PLASOOOMA!"
I remember
I remember and have it now
surprised that Perfect Dark didn't make it to the list, considering it aged better than GoldenEye..
It did, especially when they remastered it for 360 and the one. One of my all time favorite games
@@moondude24 I wish people still play it today.
@@LaraCroftTwins I still play it have the original 64 box and everything and have it in 360 and the one,my brother introduced it to me and with the announcement of the new game he started paying the original again! And was asking me for tips and how to get through certain parts that he originally showed me! Lol
I'm kinda divided on that one. Multiplayer on Perfect Dark was and still is clearly better but I prefer the single player campaign from GoldenEye.
Super Mario 64 and Diddy Kong Racing were my first video games.
Great list! The N64 was and is such an incredible system. These games are why I have an N64 hooked up to my TV now.
Same tbh ps1 also has some banger especially if you were into JRPGS but if you wanted multiplayer back then n64 was the way to go
WWF no mercy and gauntlet Legends is the main reason I keep it hooked up for whenever I have a party 🥳
@@HollowRick Agreed. PS1 backward compatibility on my PS3 is one of the reasons why I am never selling that system.
Over 2 decades later and gamers are still playing SM64. Timeless masterpiece of a platformer
So? 3 decades later and people are still playing and modding the original Doom.
Its timeless. Except for the camera.
@@thebalderthor4884 the point is both are timeless and still have large player bases, with endless mods.
Conker's Bad Fur Day is amazing
Such an underrated gem.
Great list and one of my favorite systems (I still wish for a Mini version). Wish Banjo-Kazooie was on the list since I think that game is still worth playing and should of been with Banjo-Tooie.
I used to play the original Smash Bros way too much lol
I expected Goldeneye/Perfect Dark and Mario Party 2 to be on this list. Those games are still great fun to play
Time has not been kind to Goldeneye.
@@jwill7998 Visually yeah. But in regards to gameplay (especially multiplayer mode) I would have to disagree with you. It's still great fun to play
@@majoraz6051
I don't know about that. The single joystick is not nearly as fluid as the modern dual joystick setup. The auto-centering makes aiming extremely jerky.
I loved Perfect Dark, but struggled returning to it.
@@jwill7998 I see what you are saying. Dual analogue controls are far better.
How goldeneye didn't make this list is ridiculous
Because Goldeneye is not worth playing today. The game simply hasn't aged well.
@@FrankyMangal I'm sorry you feel that way. There's people still playing it on online mods to this day and my family and friends still get down with it. If Diddy Kong reading is here than goldeneye was worth a spot imo
Diddy Kong aged well. Even by today 's standards. I won't argue that Goldeneye was an absolute highlight for me as well. And with updated controls and level design I would definitely play a remake. But the original not so much.
Because goldeneye aged like old milk.
@@10cesc4. wasn't about how it aged just if the game is worth playing and I feel it is. I love letting my young cousins play it to see how far first person shooters have come. Builds appreciation. But no it hasn't aged as well
Conkers bad Furday needs a remake 110% it’s literally the best game ever made and the multiplayer was ahead of its time.
Where Bomberman at? Any of the three would have been nice to see!
And let's not forget Mischief Makers!
Bomberman 64 was great. Loved the soundtrack too!
I loved seeing the commercial for Super Smash Bros.! But yeah, Conkers Bad Fur Day will always be my favorite
Conkers will always have a place in my heart.
That commercial for Smash Bros.64 is full of old-school charm!
It will always be my fav too! ^^
My Majora's Mask gold game cartridge sees a lot of action. My personal fave game ever.
Before watching: Perfect Dark, which I still play more than any other FPS.
It's not on the list, a lot of good games weren't on this list
Yeah. Usually GoldenEye is, but I'm guessing that FPSs are considered to have not aged well compared to modern games. They haven't when it comes to controls, graphics, and online play; but the design, weapons, and other things in PD still hold up to or even surpass modern games IMO.
Last year I tried Star Fox 64 on the 3DS and this year I tried Banjo Kazooie and I really liked them
Don't forget Glover! That's one of my all-time favorites!
Omgg you got this soo on point 90% of those games I had / have and are still my all time favs ❤️❤️😍 great video
It sure brings back memories. I played a lot of them on the Wii virtual Console. Here's the list:
Mario 64 (both original and DS remake)
Donkey Kong 64 (Wii U virtual Console)
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Zelda Majora's mask (3DS remake)
Mario Kart 64
Mario Party 2
Mario Party 3 (played it on my babysitter's N64, along with Smash Bros, Mario 64 and Mario kart)
Star Fox 64
Kirby 64
Paper Mario
Pokemon Snap
Pokemon Puzzle League
Yoshi's Story
Super Smash Bros
Golden Eye 007 (played it at a certain gaming exposition)
Mario Tennis
Let's not forget that there's another Nintendo 64 game that's still worth playing Rampage World Tour and it's the best Nintendo 64 game around.
My personal favorite N64 games are Mario 64, Mario Party 2 & 3, Diddy Kong Racing, DK64, Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day (freaking adore that game), Super Smash Bros., Pokemon Stadium, Mario Tennis, and Mario Kart 64. These games will always hold a special place in my heart ^^
If Nintendo gets their shit together and they make a N64 online for the Switch, you'll be able to re-live those moments again.
I use to play Banjo Kazooie back when I was a kid! I really do miss those adventures and I wish they came back for Nintendo Switch.
I like playing the N64 with my sister and our cousins.
Dude, I swear I see you everywhere. 😂
Every year i pick up Banjo Kazooie and complete it in a week, my favorite game ever, i've been playing it for 15 years
Some of these brought back childhood memories.
Same for me. I'm really hoping Nintendo adds the Nintendo 64 online app to the Switch or even make the Nintendo 64 mini. Business will be booming for them then.
F-Zero X is easily one of the most playable N64 games today. The controls are superb.
I wish I enjoyed video games the same way as I enjoyed them as a kid. Growing up sucks.
Honestly, out of all the N64 games out there, Ogre Battle 64 has aged the best by a landslide. Great story, great strategy system, and it still looks amazing to this day. Check it out for yourselves, you won't regret it
I preferred Banjo Kazooie to the sequel. It had more charm
Kazooie
The first was definitely better
@@FallingStar1080
Yep!
Miyamoto confirmed that SM64 was the most difficult game he has ever made that he needed help from Argonauts but they were also struggling. But it was worth it this game was perfect
Great list
Remaster.... DIDDY KONG RACING
They had on DS but they fucked up
@@extranationrecordsofficial1826 plus they left out banjo and conker. AND the coin challenge was a joke lol
Mystical Ninja was one of my favorite (more obscure) titles on the N64. I wish they brought the other titles with Go'mon over to the US.
Kazooie over tooie for me although both are great. I'd also say the Mario party games (2 is my fave). Their simple gameplay has aged really well.
I have a good handful of these games and I still own them till this day which there still great and awesome and I just became a new subscriber
Once again, Pilotwings 64 just doesn't get enough loving. Sure it was just a glorified tech demo, but being able to just fly, jetpack or hang glide anywhere was incredible at the time.
Rare was an absolute MONSTER during the N64 days they had nothing but gems almost every time. Conker's bad fur day, 007 GoldenEye, Jet Force Gemini, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie that was my childhood right there
Banjo-Kazooie is one of my favorites, Kazooie is among my top videogame characters of all time and that board game before the final combat is genius in so many levels.
Personally, I'd have to go with Mario Tennis. But hey, that's just me.
Good list! Always wanted to run through banjo kazoie and conkers bad fur day!
Two games I loved that werent on here though....iggys wreaking balls and tetrissphere smacked me hard.
I was ten years late when I played Mario Kart 64. But boy, I had fun with that game :) Pretty nostalgic too.
Awesome list! I still own the majority of those games, if not all. Goldeneye was a good one i think was missed. Resident Evil 2 was also really really good.
Mario Kart 64 is my favorite n64 game and the one that got me into racing games in general.
I honestly put on Banjo Kazooie every now and then because it's super fun :) also Ogre Battle 64 :)
Zelda , Mario ,smash bro’s, star fox, Mariokart, golden eye, paper Mario, dk racing, prefect dark, conker. The gang is all here! Still my favorite console. 1080 , wave race, gauntlet legends , snowboard kids, blitz ,boomer man, so many great titles.
Perfect Dark should have been number 1! I still play it to this day!
Super Mario 64, Super Smash Bros, Killer Instict Gold, Diddy Kong Racing, Mischief Makers, Bomberman 64, Banjo Kazooie, Yoshi Story, Paper Mario, Mario Kart 64, Pokemon Stadium, Star Fox 64. All Classics worth Replaying!
I agree with the no.1 spot! So much fun even to this day! The graphics definitely hold up well. 👍👍
You left out the single greatest game ever made, the I still play ever single day 21 years later, PERFECT DARK.
Thank you for giving Diddy Kong racing it’s well deserved credit. People say Mario kart is easily the better game, but there is a debate to be had. Obviously both are fantastic, but I favor Diddy Kong
Turok 2
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer
And of course WWF No Mercy
@TenAte108 they're suppose to come to PS4 sometime in the next month. Don't know if they'll be remasters or just straight ports. Probably just ports but that's fine with me.
most of my favorite games I've played are Super Mario 3D platformers, so you know I love SM64 so much!
Paper Mario is not only one my favorite 64 games but definitely my favorite Mario game. The game is perfect.
Paper Mario will forever have my heart ❤
Beautiful name and face you have. Also i agree---people say The Thousand Year Door is the best in the series, but if we didn't get the first, it and all the others wouldn't have come out.
I stayed up to day light, finishing this game. Must have rented it a dozen times from my local video store. I won’t for get it.
@@ryangardner7709 good times
Banjo Kazooie & Banjo Tooie, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, Harvest Moon 64, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Mario Kart 64, Paper Mario, Pokemon Snap & Pokemon Stadium, South Park: Chef's Luv Shack & South Park Rally, Super Mario 64, & Yoshi's Story
We would be in tears laughing so hard playing the original Smash Bros. in high school....
We always skipped school and went to a homeboys house daily just to play videogames and chill. MEMORIES!!!
Paper Mario 64 and Paper Mario: TTYD need remasters. Would have been amazing for Mario's anniversary
i just got my retrotink mini! and it works awesome! i love the N64! i still play many games and buy new ones that i missed in my childhood! this is indeed a good console! just played mario party, peachs cake with my fiancee! its so much fun!
Absolutely all of these are worth it. I still play Mario 64 and banjo kazooie!
Mario 64, Paper Mario, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie/Tooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Diddy Kong Racing, Goldenye, Perfect Dark, Jet Force Gemini, Rayman 2, Wave Race, Zelda Ocarina/Majora’s Mask, Lylat Wars, Body Harvest, Glover, DK 64, Silicon Valley, Tonic Trouble…
All these games are amazing!!
Thank You for mentioning Yoshi's Story. It may not be the most challenging Nintendo Title, but without it, future Nintendo games probably wouldn't have a Crafty Pop-Up Book Art Style, including Paper Mario.
I found myself playing most of the games that has top playcontrol. After all gameplay is only thing that always remains as good as it originally was.Games like Wave Race 64, F-Zero X, Wipeout 64, Goldeneye, Mario and Zelda, ect. This is the same reason why i still play original Super Mario Kart on SNES.
Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie were definitely ahead of they're time!!
Mario kart 64 will forever be my fav game ever! Childhood memories!
Good list, what else to still play in 64? Golden eye, jet force geminy, pokemon snap, Mystical ninja goemon, Mortsal kombat trilogy and 4 just for shananiggans, apiderman 64 and maybe shadows of the empire
The only games I haven’t played in this list are Conker’s Bad Fur Day, Pokémon Stadium 2, and Paper Mario. All the others I have played many, many times, and some I still play today. ❤️
Make a "10 Sega Saturn Games Still Worth Playing" list
No Saturn games were ever worth playing.
I thought for sure Mario Party would be on here. My sister and I played it so much we wore down the skin in our palms from rotating the stick for the mini games. It was so fun.
Wore out the controllers too & sometimes broke the joysticks. Nintendo ended up with lawsuits for the injury-inducing nature of those mini games that required such rotation on the joystick (incredibly sad that people filed suits over it).
Blast Corps is criminally underrated.
Every now and then i'll replay Diddy Kong Racing and more frequently Road Rash 64 which has to be the most hilarious game ever made
Mario kart, Mario 64, 007, wcw nwo revenge, wrestlemania 2000,wwf no mercy just to name a few I still play
The good old days; thank you
Sin & Punishment and F-Zero X should be up there. Not only are they among the console's very best, they both manage to run at 60 frames per second, making them highly playable to this day.
I prefer Kazooie over tooie but I still love both
Duck Dodgers N64
World is Not Enough N64
Goldeneye N64
Super smash bro’s, NBA hangtime, Mario kart, golden eye, WWF no mercy.
