Great job and knock. Vic makes a good team member, it would be nice to see more of his talent more often, one of the old gang. Makes the job fun to be doing. Well done guys. Perfect result yet again. 🖖👍
Great job there Steve. Reminds me of my first house when we were doing renovations. The random shape and size wire cut bricks, wooden lintels which had dried out and shrunk, no longer supporting anything and mortar so soft you could almost rake it out with your fingers. You're not doing your dodgy hips any favours Steve humping up and down trestles with heavy steel beams on your shoulders. You'll be like the bionic man when you get your new ones fitted 🤖😎
So very impressive Steve. Can't believe how meticulous you are when tidying up after a job, sets you apart form others that's for sure. Hope Alex had a great break BTW.
That is awesome in one day. I love watching your videos. The pride and effort in your work is amazing. That wall really was a mess, lucky you took it down when you did. Great video, although I missed seeing Alex moaning about the wall being junk -- haha.
Love the way you always clean up as you go along .good practice.but some times you do remind me of the chuckle brothers to me to you.lots of chatting.but ill say one thing steve you get there in the end and always do a great job😂😂
Im always amazed that when you start to strip out and uncover previous build work , Just how the building hasn't fallen down in someway given the very poor quality of cement and materials used in the past.. Enjoy your videos and hope you get your hip sorted soon, looks very painful.... best of luck...
Great work as usual. I was just wondering why, given the higher access for propping on the toilet side that the beam wasn't put in to bathroom ceiling?
If you strong boy’d on the side with the higher ceiling could you not have removed more bricks and had the lintel base in line with the lower ceiling for flat run through?
Just wondering Steve, are there things, processes, and tips you’ve picked up from the comments over the years? Another great vid - I really enjoy them.
impressive ! 👍🔥 what material you used to pack the gap between the top of the beam and the bricks above ? also did it move at all when removing the acro props ? thanks in advance
Great jobs lads. Did you require structural plans for the steel? Needing to do something similar on a breakthrough into garage and didn’t know if I need a structural report prior to the steel? Great work
Can you possibly do a video on the process, on step by step basis explaining what you need to do to get permission, who to contact, how to get specs etc, as i want to do this stuff to my house but i dont know how to go about it. Thanks
which one is the son in this one as Alex is missing? I like all the different remodel jobs you do keeps it interesting. If you were doing all new construction it wouldn’t be the same.
You do great work but that steel should have gone higher up. Was the client fully aware this could have gone higher. Its your name going against this job and it looks a bit naff.
@@SteveAndAlexBuild yes but sometimes you have to use your experience and advice people. Someone may come along later on and say to the client Why didn't the steel go higher? And the client will say that's where the builder put it.
Stop the endless waffling buddy,,,...can't understand a word you're saying,,, any chance you'd turn on the sub titles, or let the young guy do the talking.....I do enjoy the vids
Mormont, or whatever you call yourself. Have a decent bit of respect. Totally uncalled for comments like that, really are not worth your typing them. I’m sure I ‘speak’ for very many tradies, and followers alike. Rant over, just wind your neck in and at least try to enjoy Steve and Alex at their very best!😉
Another great job. Just wondering why you didn't use the extra ceiling height on the toilet side to put the RSJ up another couple of courses to blend it into the ceiling
Don't know how you do it. You are the hardest working guy on RUclips. And your knowledge is the best.
Thanks very much 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽

Love the way the bricks disappeared from the windowsill quicker than you could load 'em 😅😅.
Good lad vic 😆😆🧱👍🏽
so nice taking apart a wall thats built using lime and not cement. comes apart so easy. guessing this was an old house?
Definitely 😁🧱👍🏽.
Very old

😆🧱👍🏽
Nice one....wish my builder was as conscientious and competent as you guys....says the bloke who employed a Cowboy😒
Sorry to hear it ☹️👍🏽🧱
Great work as usual.
I was just wondering why, given the higher access for propping on the toilet side that the beam wasn't put in to bathroom ceiling?
Thanks . Just working to instructions 🧱👍🏽
I thought that might be the case.
It would been less work for the plasterer and much neater.
But if that's what the client wants . .
👍🏽🧱
If you strong boy’d on the side with the higher ceiling could you not have removed more bricks and had the lintel base in line with the lower ceiling for flat run through?
We did as we were told 🧱👍🏽
sorry i missed it yesterday but i am holiday great Job as usual
Cheers Eddie 🤜🏽🤜🏽😎🧱👍🏽
Nice job.
Could you have used a concrete lintel instead of the steel?
For that span probably but I think that wall supported the roof 🧱👍🏽
Still cracking out the jobs Steve. Well done pal keep it up.
Cheers pal no op for another six week’s minimum unfortunately so still going to work 🥺🤣🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild that’s a tough break mate. Hopefully it will give you time to bank a few quid for the down time.
@theDIYnovice903 That’s the plan mate . Chill over the winter 🥶 🧱👍🏽
Another great job Steve. One question though if I may. I was wondering why you didn’t put the steel higher so it was above the bathroom ceiling?
We just put it where we were asked to 😁🧱👍🏽

Yes a lot . 🤜🏽🤛🏽🧱👍🏽

Slate no it didn’t move 🧱👍🏽
Can’t believe that Titan haven’t sponsored you boys yet!!! All those red tools and you still use old faithful 😂
A nice red cordless one is in its way hopefully 🤞🏼 🟥😍🧱👍🏽
Learnt so much from you guys. Experts! Why don't you have a link to your business in the description? Where are you based?
Thanks very much.
We have our e mail in the description and we are in south west lancashire 🧱👍🏽
Great jobs lads. Did you require structural plans for the steel? Needing to do something similar on a breakthrough into garage and didn’t know if I need a structural report prior to the steel?
Great work
Always use a structural engineer 🧱👍🏽
Another great informative video, I noticed you packed out the lintel with slate, are BC ok with that and what slates do you use e.g. Welsh slate?
Thanks. Yes slate is very strong under compression and any will do 🧱👍🏽
How do you support an RSJ in a house with stud walls. Brick clad timber frame house. Great video guys. Keep up the videos 👍
If I remember rightly you need multiple studs as the seating .
Always get a structural engineer in to cover yourself. 🧱👍🏽
Do these in your sleep now boys experts .Another top notch job 👏👏👍💯🧱🧱🧱
Cheers Justin 🤣🤣🧱👍🏽

Nice room now that wall is gone 👍🏻
Good size bathroom now 🧱👍🏽
Great job guys what was the dimensions of the rsj for the single brick wall you used thanks
Thanks, I think it’s 9 x 4 🧱👍🏽
Nice neat job that Steve+1. 👍👍Crappy old wall that and the wooden lintel packing was bad. How old is the house ?
Not sure Doug but it was ropey 😆🧱👍🏽
why didn't you use a 9"x6" concrete lintel?
No such thing mate 🤔🧱👍🏽

Sorry pal. We don’t get involved with that side . We let the customer sort it 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild ahh right no worries👍
Do you need a padstone with a concrete lintel is it just for steel
Just steels 🧱👍🏽

Glad you enjoyed it 😆🧱👍🏽
Never throw a trowel like that....even in the Neverlands 😂😂😂😂🎉❤🤠🐎🐎🐎

Tom and Jerry getting a steel in 😂😂
😏🧱👍🏽
How much would you charge for some thing like that.
Sorry pal there is no ball park figure fir these jobs 🧱👍🏽
Hi Steve y are you putting the steei so low ?
That’s where we told to put it 🧱👍🏽
Can you drill into the rsj to get a fixing?
You can mate or use a Hilti gun to fire nails in too 🧱👍🏽
Ay, bit of ecky thump there.
Heart of Wigan 👍🏽🧱
too me too you lol
😏🧱👍🏽
Surely the steel should be painted.
No need on an internal wall 🧱👍🏽
Alex is aging quickly.
