    Great job there Steve. Reminds me of my first house when we were doing renovations. The random shape and size wire cut bricks, wooden lintels which had dried out and shrunk, no longer supporting anything and mortar so soft you could almost rake it out with your fingers. You're not doing your dodgy hips any favours Steve humping up and down trestles with heavy steel beams on your shoulders. You'll be like the bionic man when you get your new ones fitted 🤖😎

    That is awesome in one day. I love watching your videos. The pride and effort in your work is amazing. That wall really was a mess, lucky you took it down when you did. Great video, although I missed seeing Alex moaning about the wall being junk -- haha.

    so nice taking apart a wall thats built using lime and not cement. comes apart so easy. guessing this was an old house?

    Im always amazed that when you start to strip out and uncover previous build work , Just how the building hasn't fallen down in someway given the very poor quality of cement and materials used in the past.. Enjoy your videos and hope you get your hip sorted soon, looks very painful.... best of luck...

    I was just wondering why, given the higher access for propping on the toilet side that the beam wasn't put in to bathroom ceiling?

      I thought that might be the case.
      It would been less work for the plasterer and much neater.
      But if that's what the client wants . .

    If you strong boy’d on the side with the higher ceiling could you not have removed more bricks and had the lintel base in line with the lower ceiling for flat run through?

    Great jobs lads. Did you require structural plans for the steel? Needing to do something similar on a breakthrough into garage and didn’t know if I need a structural report prior to the steel?

    Another great informative video, I noticed you packed out the lintel with slate, are BC ok with that and what slates do you use e.g. Welsh slate?

    How do you support an RSJ in a house with stud walls. Brick clad timber frame house. Great video guys. Keep up the videos 👍

      If I remember rightly you need multiple studs as the seating .
      Always get a structural engineer in to cover yourself. 🧱👍🏽

    Can you possibly do a video on the process, on step by step basis explaining what you need to do to get permission, who to contact, how to get specs etc, as i want to do this stuff to my house but i dont know how to go about it. Thanks
