I know this is a few years old now but is essentially the only fire mage leveling guide on RUclips. So props to you and thank you for this great video! One tip I’d add is getting 2/3 in Elemental Precision in the Frost tree before putting any points into Fire. It makes it so you only have a 1% chance to miss mobs at your lvl or one lvl above. Mobs two lvls above have only a 2% miss chance. Without this talent you’re looking at 5% chance to miss at lvl and one above, and 6% chance to miss two lvls above. It makes a world of difference in my opinion and isn’t a huge investment as it’s in the first row of the Frost tree.
I know this video is dated so you might not see this comment, but as someone just starting classic this is incredibly helpful. Even more so because I plan on maining my mage in pvp as a type of 3min mage/frostfire spec. Being able to push my the 50g respec cost farther back is a blessing. Wish I could like the vid twice.
Props for actually considering other players when you AoE farm. So many people just do NOT even consider whether or not they're choosing to farm or grind on the only group of mobs needed for a local quest. There are a lot of quests that only accept drops or kills for a limited range of mobs spawning in a certain area. A single mage there can pretty much bring 10 other players' questing progress to a screeching halt ... they COULD choose to pick another spot for their grinding or farming, but people don't even seem to give enough of a crap to worry about whether they're monopolizing important quest spawns for nothing but XP and random gray/white loot. One of the absolute worst places for this are elementals in Badlands -- the elementals are the focus of a local quest chain for both factions involving a lot of items with poor drop rates, but it's almost always clogged up with hunters and mages (bots or otherwise) just going to town on them for elemental earth drops. There are SOOOOOO many places to get elemental earth, but they make a selfish choice to go for the tiny area involved in that chain of quests. Pulling all 10 of those spawns every time for 10 hours is a freaking sin. Forget about it if they're multi-boxing and in an entire group of mages -- you might as well pack your bags and go home in terms of questing when they're around. It's just such greedy, selfish behavior. I don't understand why it isn't more frowned upon by the rest of the community.
Yeah, I don't think I've completed all the elemental quests in the Badlands because the elementals are so contested. It was a problem on private servers too. I've also experienced it in Winterspring with people farming the furbolgs for Winterfall Firewater. Sometimes they will invite you for the quest items or quest kills, however.
great to see someone finally lvling as fire I myself am 51 right now and am a hybrid spec frost/fire the as far as the aoe grinding goes the best way I have found although not easy to master is for you to gather up the mobs cone of cold rank 1 them all just for the slow and then frost nova right after then get a little distance cast a flamestrike right in to a blizzard with the imp blizz tallent when done right the slow from the cone of cold will last long enough to let the blizz continue the slow effect and they will get ticked multiple times from the Flamestrike dot at the same time as blizzard dmg.
Awesome man! It's always nice to see people experimenting with different specs and rotations. So how does your spec do for single target leveling / normal questing?
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 it's great for single target questing since I have shatter 5 out of 5 and ignite for elites you basically just shatter them for big dmg then rank1 Frost bolt kite twil Nova is back up and repeat
Thank you! Very interesting alternative to frost aoe. I've been experimenting with Flamestrike. Seems to work fairly well with Frost Nova for my low level mage.
I play a frost mage and think I’m going to stick with my frost spec but none the less I enjoyed the video and all the information on the fire talents, keep up the good work!
Great that you're enjoying it! Gets even more fun when you get Combustion :) I always look forward to the next level where I get a new rank of Fireball or Pyroblast when I'm playing fire mage.
Thanks a lot - happy you enjoyed it :) I really like the surprise factor of fire in PvP and the bonus range with Flame Throwing since people don't expect it.
Thank you so much for a dedicated video to my favorite mage spec! I started out in Arcane but respecced to Fire and never looked back! The AOE rotation looks awesome! Never thought about kiting mobs around and through flamestrike, that’s epic! I just hit 30 so still filling out my talents. I already picked up elemental precision earlier so a bit behind your recommendations but so far, I’m doing ok. Because of the lack of slow, I equipped four pieces with heavy leather armor buffs. Makes me a little tougher to kill at melee range. I still need the last point in flame throwing for maximum range. Excellent advice and I took notes! Lol TC
That's awesome man - happy to see other fellow fire mages out there! Practice the AoE-grinding and you'll get the hang of it - it's not as effective as frost AoE, but it's good for grinding if you find yourself running short on quests or need gold for your mount. I died a lot doing it, but I got better and better gradually. You definitely want to use Ice or Frost Armor when AoE-ing and not Mage Armor. Good idea with the armor buffs on your gear!
Man , Thank you so much for this . I ve getting so much hate on servers because ofmy fire spec somehow every single mage plays Aoe frost so ithought let s try something different and i really like playing fire as well , it just feels great to deal that much damage x) .
That's great man - I'm glad you tried fire and have been enjoying it! I like the high damage potential of fire a lot as well. When leveling in Classic or on previous private servers, fire has always been my go-to mage spec, and I guess it's just personal preference how you enjoy playing.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 Little late here, but it's because of mages spell hit % requirements. On equal levels, you need 3% spell hit to cap it, and +1 level mobs you need 4% spell hit to cap. IE, 2 points in ele precision.
Interesting video. I've decided to go the so-called "elemental" route - getting fire up to he crit talent, then going frost to get shatter and ice block. It should be decent for pvp and have some AOE potential - a flamestrike-blastwave combo on novaed pack of mobs should nearly kill them if u include the ignite dmg.
It would be a niche video, but maybe I could do one covering other spell schools as well. It’s a cool idea, and I have done quite a lot of research on cool +fire damage items in the past actually.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 I for one would be very interested in that. This video was already spot on for a fire magician as myself. Keep up the good work.
Doing hardcore and it's tempting to be full frost for the safety but I was a fire mage from vanilla to wotlk and love it so ill prob go fire and just be careful
Update: respec'd to fire at level 28 and haven't ever looked back. Best move I've ever made. Seriously, thank you for this vid. Everything else I've seen says not to go fire spec.
@@JakePkz Me too, I respecced fire around LVL22 as I was getting bored to spam frostbolts, and I'm having fun. I'm easier to gank though. There so many frost mages a random player passed by me yesterday and just randomly gave me a +10 Frost chest piece he had just looted. Also a guy I grouped with for some elites told me "nice to see a fire mage". lvl 26 now. I'm slow cause I'm also leveling a lock on a pve server when I get tired of the gank fest or being on my toes all the time. Currently in Hillsbrad.. Can't imagine what it's like in STV.
Good video. I am 30 lvl atm, until now I was grinding in frost aoe build but I am already sick of it. Grinding like Jokerd World first is realy fast but I expect something else from leveling, I am quest addicted I gues, so now I'll take ur advice and go fire:) like and sub. Keep it up bro.
Thanks man! Good luck with your fire journey. I really like the big crits of your fire spells and the frequent changes of scenery you get when you're not AoE farming, but just questing regularly.
man this is awesome i love fire mage!!! now i am preparing for tbc and i ll lvl a mage.....yet i take another route .....Hopefully i ll be able to manage it just playing with scorch Pyroblast and scorch the mob down
Awesome to hear! Fire mage is great - I like the play style so much. That sounds interesting - so you are skipping Improved Fireball for example? Gl with it mate :)
Always do take the orb, it's a free mana pot you can un-/equip mid combat! Also, yeah fire mage is cool (hue) and all but whenever I pulled ~20 mobs as a frost mage I got a sad look from a fire mage watching me. Then comes soloing stuff like DM or lvl 50+ elites which cannot be done as a fire mage (unless your gear is considerably better than a frost mage would need)... The reason everybody and their mum lvl as frost is because it's just better in every aspect up until lvl 60 and even then for the most part.
Frost leveling has a lot of benefits, but fire does too. It's definitely not right that you can't solo lvl 50+ elites as fire. In my opinion, fire is much better at that since you'll be killing the mobs faster, and you have Blast Wave which makes kiting no problem. There's even a way to farm Maraudon + Princess as a fire mage, I've heard. Start with a Pyroblast, and if it crits you got 3-5 Frostbolts in a single spell when you count the Ignite proc (and getting crits as fire is much easier than frost with talents such as Combustion and Critical Mass).
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 Good point indeed because I tried princess solo recently and failed miserably as a frosty xD I'd argue that fire is the option for mobs that cannot be cc'd, in that regard it trumps frost by a longshot. Kiting with blast wave is still not viable in my opinion, reason being the high mana cost, esp. max rank. If I absolutely had to lvl a fire mage I'd still kite with CoC rank 1. In PvE anyway. Btw, eventhough I'm arguing against fire in early lvls I still love the fire spec (even better than frost acutally) and since this is vanilla I say everyone should do as they please. It's good to see people making videos about how to play optimally in less common specs and actively going against the "vanilla class design was horrible, each class has only one viable spec lol" mentality.
@@hughjazz4936 I totally agree that fire is better against mobs immune to slow and other CC. Maybe you're right about Blast Wave, but it's still good if you don't have more slowing options left and are looking to kite an elite mob the last couple of seconds before finishing it off. Yeah, I think it's fun exploring different ways to play especially when people are so "tunnel-visioned" on one thing (which was AoE-levelling as frost at the time of making the video) :)
As someone who has never played this game before and just wanted to see what’s the hype about, I choose to play a fire mage just because it seems to be cool :) and, I must agree, I often find myself watching a frost mage doing their magic with mobs and crying a bit aside :)
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 yes i am running fire at 60 and top in UBRS, need to los often and combustion blast wave is very good. also if you have less than 3400 mana you can glitch arcane brilliance to cost nothing. fire mage is apparently good for solo maraudon aswell
@@winjose-h2d Sounds cool. I'm heavily considering going fire to try and solo some instance mobs in Scholomance for instance to farm Dark Runes or something. There might be some possibilities there - everyone is focused on AoE-farming still, and there might be new ways to farm gold to discover.
Like the video and the approach. But having a slowing/ae specc is not at all useless for questing and singletarget combat. It is very safe and mana efficient too. I also dont really understand where your improved time comes from when you always start with a pyro hard cast. Even an ae frost specced mage should come close to the same killing time. If you dont use pyros i guess fire should be quicker. It is sad that raiding atm doesnt give you much choice for specs. For ae grinding elites at 60 i.e. Zf an elemental spec is probably the safest and best including improved flamestrike
It can definitely be valuable having Permafrost for example for the increased slow from a frostbolt, but when you take Improved Blizzard and Improved Frost Nova as well you're suddenly spending a lot of points in talents that don't increase your damage which is what I dislike. The pyroblast cast is long, but even counting that in I'm still confident you can kill single mobs faster as fire. It's very mana efficient and you can keep regenerating mana while casting the spell before engaging in combat. In my 40'ies and early 50'ies I was able to one shot certain caster mobs with a single pyroblast crit and the resulting DoTs. I'm definitely looking forward to when I can respec back to fire :) I haven't done any ZF farming myself, but I have seen the use of Improved Flamestrike which seems cool, and I think it can be a very powerful talent.
I haven’t been in many fights where I run out of mana, mainly because the burst damage is so high, but if I do and evocation isn’t up yet, I’ve found wands actually have pretty consistent DPS
Hello m8 :-) I don't get to play much, but I try to login every day and play for a short time if I can. I would love to play more and do the raids, but I've become more of a scholar of the game than a practitioner I think you could say. Most of my time with WoW is spent "studying" it, hehe.
Can't wait to get all my Onixia and MC Gear so I can re-spec to Arcane Fire and sheep - double pyro blast, fire blast peoples faces off with crazy 3-4k dmg in 1 second
3 years too late, but still 👍 Isnt the first talent: Impact really nice while leveling? I guess you have to sacrifice something else to get it but the chance to stun seems like equivalent to the slow from the frost skills
The problem with it is that it is a low chance to proc rather than a reliable slow. At higher levels it can be effective with scorch/fire blast spam but it feels like a waste at lower levels.
Loved the vid as I'm just leveling a couple of Classic Mage alts and had no idea what to choose! Thanks for the HOT TIP! See what I did there? :P. Oh and I subbed. Well, after hearing your legendary voice I was scared not to! haha.
What do you think about AOE frost farming Maraudon from lvl 46? Some people have showed that this still works and can be done for a few good levels also.
I like the idea of solo AoE-farming in dungeons much more than non-instanced farming. I would probably try it out if I had some more experience with AoE-farming in general and if I hadn't gone so all in on Fire as I have at this point. I would have to spend gold on the respec, and I just see myself dying over and over again messing up the pulls. After outleveling the monsters in Maraudon I would then have to find a new AoE-spot or respec again. I don't think AoE-grinding for a lot of levels is my cup of tea since it gets very monotenous. If you enjoy it though, have the Scepter and the required set-up to AoE-grind Maraudon I would definitely say: Go for it! If it is something you're good at, having fun with and which boosts your leveling speed it's awesome.
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 I tryed Maraudon starting from lvl 46 when I got the staff. It's the best xp/hr at that level range in my opinion. Its about 70k xp/hr and it's easy after a few runs to learn the steps. The gold/hour is also good but I do not have any numbers here. I started with 20 gold at 46 and im at 80 right now at lvl 50.
But Arnold, frost based spells aren't just for dps, they slow melee bois significantly, which make you hardly reachable for them, thats why frost does less dmg
Yeah, you're right about that. If Fireball had a slow effect like Frostbolt it would be pretty imbalanced :D Frost is more the CC / defensive type "branch" of the mage where fire is more damage / burst focused I guess.
What professions are you running/ gonna use when your max level. I want def want to take mining to keep all the mats in my bank and level eng once I’m max. And as my second talent I was gonna go tailoring because u can craft good gear while leveling and I heard u can craft pretty good pre raid gear. I saw you went skinning and I hear a lot of people do this so they can afford there mount. Do I think it’s worth it to miss out on tailoring and take 2 gathering professions ?
If you're leveling your first character I would probably recommend going skinning until you get your 40 mount. I think it helps a lot, but if you're good at saving money it might not be necessary. Leveling mining at the same time is definitely a good choice if you're planning on going engineering at 60 which is a great idea in my opinion. You can always unlearn skinning once you get your 40 mount and go tailoring at that point. Some of the best tailoring items are level +40 anyways, so you shouldn't be missing out too much. If you save up a lot of the different types of cloth (linen, wool, silk etc.) you should be able to level the profession up quite fast I imagine. I haven't done any of this myself (I focused on leveling quickly to 60), but this is probably how I'd go about the professions if I rolled a new mage or caster DPS.
It can definitely make a big difference, I'm sure, but the awesome thing about fire is people don't expect it. You can burst someone down so, so fast if you have Combustion up, and the range of your fire spells can be great if you're sniping down someone hiding behind a tree or a hill or something.
you know what I was a fire mage in vanilla......am a frost mage in classic...but you know what..seeing this again...I'm gonna be a fire mage...I forget how easy it was soloing elite quests
So back in the day I leveled arcane and I could not level fire this time around 😣 I really enjoyed the contrast video to frost mages because everyone thinks their the bee's knees
Great question man! I did level in Searing Gorge, but it is not as efficient. Generally, a lot of the mobs will have higher fire resistances and some are even immune. If you can avoid it, I would definitely do so and prioritize zones such as Aszhara, Blasted Lands, Tanaris or other similar level-range zones. The same goes for Burning Steppes which I avoided initially and did at level 57-58 when I had had to respec for raid (I did some bosses in MC at that level). You will be able to level both places no problem, but not nearly as efficiently as you otherwise would. I also skip Dustwallow Marsh since I believe it has some elite quests involving red dragonkin with high fire resistances. It just sucks having to use Frostbolt as a fire mage.
Great video !! I really enjoy playing my fire mage, what a blast, as in fire blast !! Is there any way to compare plus fire damage gear, to plus intellect gear to determine which provides better dps?
Thank you :) Awesome man! I am not entirely sure, but at level sixty 59,5 points of intellect provides 1% increased spell crit chance for mages (as well as the increased mana). Increased fire damage or spell damage in general is definitely much better, but where the threshold is exactly, I'm not sure. I would go for spell damage most of the time unless you're starting to "outlevel" a certain item by a lot in which case I would start to value intellect, stamina and spirit more.
@@michaelvittori8525 yes it _does_ ... But do you know how much it requires to increase crit by 1%? 60. Sixty intellect. Seen a piece of gear with 60 on it before? Not 30 like a rogue. And it does little else but give mana. The regen is negligible. +SP for damage. INT for mana.
On a pve server, this MIGHT be a thing. The lack of survivability is just crucial on a pvp server. And NO mob control. If you like fire, go fire, hell, even arcane. But frost will always be the leveling spec. Period. For vanilla that is.
No mob control is definitely not right. I haven't had to PvP much on the PvP server I'm playing on, but maybe it's just people rushing to 60 here in the beginning - that might change later down the line. I still like Fire for PvP as well while leveling since people don't expect it.
The problem I see would be the range difference between Pyroblast and Frostbolt (which is pretty significant when you have the “Flame Throwing” talent). Could be cool to test it out, though!
I don't agree with the fireblast statement, especially when it procs your ignite talent. 6.5 sec CD down from 8 is a significant increase. When grinding quests or mobs, efficiency is all about kill time. Faster instant cast finishers seem best to spec into?
So, as I explain in my video, my usual mob-killing rotation is Pyroblast --> Fireball --> Fireball --> Fire Blast --> Wand - depending on how much I crit etc. With a 6 second cast time on Pyroblast, Fire Blast will always be off cooldown for the next mob encounter, and since I don't use Fire Blast twice in a single fight, I don't really need the talent although it could be good situationally. You are right that the mana cost of Fire Blast is lower than Fireball, but the damage is also lower, and it is not as mana efficient (damage per mana ratio). Also, when you get Combustion you would rather crit with your highest damage spells (Pyroblast, Fireball) since the Ignite DoT is going to be bigger that way, so I find myself using Fire Blast less often. An advantage with Fire Blast is the Incinerate talent which increases the crit chance by 4%.
The drinking is really not that bad - although I don't have much ground for comparison with regular-build Frost mages. I usually kill between 3-5 mobs as I say in the video (sometimes more, rarely less) for each full mana-pool, and they die fast.
Damn it i wish i saw this kickass build before my respec went to 5g. This is way better than mine. Impact is decent on pvp server, but random. Plus, all this stuff works together better
Nice vid. AOE farming as is useless on most servers since all the good spots are severly overpopulated. If you're sitting around waiting for mobs to respawn after drinking due to other mages then it's a waste of time. It's really only viable with no competition which only happens when you're ahead of the pack.
That's an often used rotation as well. It depends a lot on which abilities you've ranked up the most recent, the types of and level of mobs you're fighting against, and if you get any crits.
But u also know that frostbolt is casted in 2,5 seconds and not 3 seconds like fireball which makes it also better in dps :D the maximum damage per cast is lower but the dps is still higher. also the dot takes like 8 seconds or sth but in that 8 seconds u already apllied a new dot
I do mention that in the video, and it is a factor. You are wrong that the DPS from Frostbolt is higher though - it is only higher at rank 3 and prior. From rank 4 onwards, the DPS from Fireball is better, and that's excluding the DoT. You are right that the DoT-effect doesn't finish a lot of the time, but usually, I only use two Fireballs during a fight, so the last Fireball DoT will have time to tick.
I played vanilla hardcore and rolled a fire mage after MC. Once you’re fully geared out for raiding fire dps was far superior to frost. Those various accumulated seconds mean nothing when your crits are insane and consistent because of gear. Frost vs Fire leveling is definitely a preference. I found fire to be a lot better and taking down 4 to 5 mobs in the same amount of time a frost is AOEing 6+ the math isn’t THAT much different. And as fire you’re able to take down higher lvl mobs quicker compared to frost.
@@blainelott1230 not really sure because of those insane cone of cold crits. i do a kathedrale run in 13 minutes with 4 frostmages and 1 disc priest. for leveling i prefer frost too because i am playing on a pvp server and in this video you see how he is getting fucked because he has 0 survivability because of fire specc
Norman Bates I played on a pvp server back in the day too. Fire can easily survive too. Just have to always be prepared. My best friend rolled arcane from the start and he did well for himself. It boils down to your skills honestly. 4 frost can easily solo a instance at almost any level too lol
Sure :) My usual rotation is Pyroblast --> Fireball --> Fireball --> Fire Blast --> Wand. It changes quite a lot depending on crits, resists and the HP of the mobs you're up against. Sometimes a Pyroblast and a Fireball + Wand is enough if you crit, and I use Frost Nova quite a lot as well if the mobs have more than maybe 20% HP when they reach you (if they're below that they should be dead quickly if there's a Pyroblast DoT and you use your wand). Instead of using Frost Nova in those situations you can throw a couple of quick Scorches, too.
So you go for the Improved Scorch talent? I can definitely see how it could be very useful against elites, but do you fancy it even when killing normal mobs?
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 Absolutely. I use it to minimize health loss and to burn down higher level mobs that might roam in the area and cause that 'last' bit of trouble during AE. I also only have 1 point in to Precision and 1 in Arcane Subtlety. I'm level 35 right now. (edit btw) I notice I get resists more often then I would like so I had to use a couple points to minimize resists. It helps.
@@MPArmy123GDtime Sounds like a good idea, actually, to use Scorch to get some HP off higher level / tougher mobs quickly + the debuff from the talent will increase subsequent damage. It can be a problem dealing with those mobs at the end of an AoE pull where your mana is low, and it sucks having to run from a 10-20% HP creature. Yeah, I also noticed a lot of resists while leveling prior to getting Elemental Precision, so what you're doing might be worth it - I was just wanting those deeper fire talents too much and couldn't wait.

Leveling up I recommend 2 points in arcane with 2 points into elemental precision then go deep into the fire tree.
Would be interesting to try out, but why not 3 points into elemental precision then?
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 Little late here, but it's because of mages spell hit % requirements. On equal levels, you need 3% spell hit to cap it, and +1 level mobs you need 4% spell hit to cap. IE, 2 points in ele precision.
This is the best video i've seen all day
Thanks a lot for the compliment! Very glad you enjoyed it :)
This video was awesome. I play fire mage too and this guide gave very good insight!
Thank you very much. Happy to hear of fellow fire mages out there although I’m frost now for raiding :D Glad you found it insightful.
14:47 That was a "hot", look at those numbers boi. Thanks for the video!
You can dish out some nasty damage :) Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoyed the video.
Scorch makes it better
Great vid. I'm about to make a mage alt and plan to follow this guide, thanks!
Edit-spelling
Happy you enjoyed it! Good luck with your character :)
That's a cool build as well with some more focus on survivability with the Ice Block. Do you pick Improved Flamestrike to synergize with Shatter?
@@moegdalswowvideos6800 No probably skip imp flamestrike as shatter gives good crit.
So my fireball dmg gets higher with every wank? Damn, gonna be some sick dps.
Bro I’m laughing so hard and had to check comments to see if anyone else heard this too! Omg Lmfao
GET TO THE CHOPPER!
I'd be interested in seeing more noteable +fire damage gear from dungeons, from quests, professions and whatnot.

Very informative. Clear and concise. Thanks for a great video man!
Awesome to hear. Happy you enjoyed it mate :)
Doing hardcore and it's tempting to be full frost for the safety but I was a fire mage from vanilla to wotlk and love it so ill prob go fire and just be careful
I've been thinking about respeccing to fire mage and I think this just made up my mind. Thanks for the video =)
Awesome man - glad you enjoyed it. Best of luck with it :)
Update: respec'd to fire at level 28 and haven't ever looked back. Best move I've ever made. Seriously, thank you for this vid. Everything else I've seen says not to go fire spec.
I’m happy to hear that and glad the video had such a positive impact. It should only get better from now on once you get more cool talents:
AoE frost gets waaay better at 40, then tapers off at 52 or so. It’s worth the wait... ZF power leveling is so much fun to learn

5 seconds in and I can without a doubt say that this is a fellow Dane. Greetings from Aarhus.
Greetings my friend:)
I am lvling my mage as fire as well and loving it.
That's awesome to hear. Soon it will be the main spec for raiding as well :D
Oh man, I hate the monotony of frost AoE-levelling. I can do it for some levels, but then I'm starting to grow restless - fire ftw in my opinion.
I love your accent man! Fluent in 2 languages thats freaking awesome
Thanks a lot mate :-) I'm happy you like the accent.
tHIS IS WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR WHEN DECIDING WHAT SPEC TOO GO IN HARDCORE ty
Fire mages are just about my all time favorite class.

Hi Moegdals Great Video well done. I found this video very helpful and Its helped me alot. thank you. Good job..Liked and subscribed :P
Thank you very much! I'm happy you enjoyed the video and found it helpful - GL with any potential fire mage adventures :D
I use rank 1 fireball when oom to proc clearcasting and also have 5/5 stun talent. You can get 442 fire spell power without MC/Ony
Damn, that's a lot. Do you use the spec at 60 in regular dungeons or have you tried bringing it into raids? :D
Great guide, thanks!
Thank you! Hope you found it useful.
That was great

Great guide man

Get in the Choppa
Played shaman until he hit 40.... then i got sik or always needing a tank.. so now im a tauren warrior..
You're a rockstar dude!
Hehe, I don't quite view myself that way :)
I haven’t been in many fights where I run out of mana, mainly because the burst damage is so high, but if I do and evocation isn’t up yet, I’ve found wands actually have pretty consistent DPS
Yeah, I agree. They might be a bit underrated actually. Some of the first wands you can get are even a bit broken for their level I would say.
Moegdal's WoW Videos totally! There’s a BFD quest that gives you a wand that does 29 DPS

Hey mate. Do you still play Classic WoW? Miss seeing new Møgdal videos popping up in my feed. :)
It's gonna be awesome. As soon as I get gear I'll be waving goodbye to frost and never look back.
The spec I'm going to use 3 years later 😂
Good video.
Thanks! :)
also put on as much 'of fiery wrath' gear as you can in adition to +spelldamage gear. it's fun to nearly one shot mobs at your level
I went fire as soon as I realized there was no ice lance in classic. love it
But theres a rain of ice lances man
Ice Lance is definitely a cool spell :D
Have fun in molten core lol
3 years too late, but still 👍
Isnt the first talent: Impact really nice while leveling? I guess you have to sacrifice something else to get it but the chance to stun seems like equivalent to the slow from the frost skills
The problem with it is that it is a low chance to proc rather than a reliable slow. At higher levels it can be effective with scorch/fire blast spam but it feels like a waste at lower levels.
Loved the vid as I'm just leveling a couple of Classic Mage alts and had no idea what to choose! Thanks for the HOT TIP! See what I did there? :P. Oh and I subbed. Well, after hearing your legendary voice I was scared not to! haha.
Hehe, thanks mate! Very happy you enjoyed the video and hopefully you found it informational. Good luck with any fire journeys you might embark on :D
Frost is still superior, but looks fun to try. With the right frost spec you can 1v1 just as good
Fire is very fun in PvP let alone for the surprise factor.
great stuff....
Thanks! :)
RIP the orb, you can equip that in endgame content for the mana and swap later to your lvl item(s).
Yeah, that was a bummer :(
The real benefit of leveling frost is the defensive tools.. really helps on a pvp server.
That's awesome - I wish you good luck with your fire journey :-)
So back in the day I leveled arcane and I could not level fire this time around 😣 I really enjoyed the contrast video to frost mages because everyone thinks their the bee's knees
So are you leveling arcane now as well, and if so, how is it? :) Thanks man, yeah I think frost is getting a bit too much attention.
I am currently leveling a fire mage. Can you quest as a fire mage in the burning steps/searing gorge? Or do they all have very high fire resists?
Will we get a leveling 60-70 version as well? I'll love to see it!
I'll definitely not leave out the possibility :) I would like to do such a video.
Easy. Intellect provides almost zero dps.
Intell is just ammunition
+ spell dam provides dps
@@rezzidue1 Intellect increases the chance to score a critical hit.
@@rezzidue1 Thanks Mike, I appreciate the info, Mike
On a pve server, this MIGHT be a thing. The lack of survivability is just crucial on a pvp server. And NO mob control. If you like fire, go fire, hell, even arcane. But frost will always be the leveling spec. Period. For vanilla that is.
No mob control is definitely not right. I haven't had to PvP much on the PvP server I'm playing on, but maybe it's just people rushing to 60 here in the beginning - that might change later down the line. I still like Fire for PvP as well while leveling since people don't expect it.
Combine fire with SHATTER at level 51-52 4 scorch then nova and a big shatteer
I haven't played with the Shatter talent myself while leveling as fire, but I think it could be fun to try out!
Nice!
what is the name of your undead mage in this video? i think i was in Uldaman group with you.
I feel like this will be useful for season of mastery
If u use a rank 1 frost bolt after your pyroblast u might be able to get off 3 fireballs before the mob gets to u
The problem I see would be the range difference between Pyroblast and Frostbolt (which is pretty significant when you have the “Flame Throwing” talent). Could be cool to test it out, though!
What do you do in scenarios like MC and BWLwhere most mobs are immune to fire damage
As far as I know, fire is unfortunately not viable in MC and BWL which is the downside. It's great for AQ and Naxx though!
Get to the fire Choppa!
I don't agree with the fireblast statement, especially when it procs your ignite talent. 6.5 sec CD down from 8 is a significant increase. When grinding quests or mobs, efficiency is all about kill time. Faster instant cast finishers seem best to spec into?
Waste of mana spamming fireblast that often. You’d be drinking after every 2nd mob and that’s the point this video overlooks compared to frost
@@rezzidue1 well considering fireblast is cheaper to use than fireball, that makes no sense.
@@qualitycontrol_rl3864 You don't need a 6.5sec CD on fireblast for levelling. One fireblast per mob is more than enough.
Wank 6 Fireballs... I love this movie
Damn it i wish i saw this kickass build before my respec went to 5g. This is way better than mine. Impact is decent on pvp server, but random. Plus, all this stuff works together better
Impact can be really nice, and I've actually chosen to put some points into it here in my late 50'ies. At lvl 58 I currently have 3 points in Impact.
Nice vid. AOE farming as is useless on most servers since all the good spots are severly overpopulated. If you're sitting around waiting for mobs to respawn after drinking due to other mages then it's a waste of time. It's really only viable with no competition which only happens when you're ahead of the pack.
Thank you! Yeah, it quickly gets one big waste of time.
demon warlock can kill any elite mob 2 lvl bigger then him actual a combination whit affliction
even 2 at the semi time
@@mamaliganicolae3588 Warlocks are definitely strong at solo'ing elites as well. Warlocks, mages and hunters are the best I'd guess.
pyro fireball scorch fireblast = death most times on npcs if not freeze and scorch or wand
That's an often used rotation as well. It depends a lot on which abilities you've ranked up the most recent, the types of and level of mobs you're fighting against, and if you get any crits.
get to the choppa!
Hey man, same level same server lol !
Nice man - are you playing Horde side?
@@blainelott1230 Definitely agree with your points overall! Thanks for the input.
Norman Bates I played on a pvp server back in the day too. Fire can easily survive too. Just have to always be prepared. My best friend rolled arcane from the start and he did well for himself. It boils down to your skills honestly.
4 frost can easily solo a instance at almost any level too lol
Hi there. May I know your rotations or openers please? Thank you :)
If my fireball upgrades with every wank, I'll be one shotting bosses in no time
@Moegdal's WoW Videos: You need to try scorch out. It is absolutely worth it.
Could you tell us any plot details on the new upcoming terminator movie since you were one of the cast members :D
I'll keep it a secret :)
