- Опубликовано: 8 авг 2024
- This is a sharpness test of the Canon EF-M 22mm f/2 STM vs. the Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM to find out which pancake lens is better.
There will be 3 rounds: Sharpness in the middle of the image, Sharpness in the corner of the image and Diffraction.
0:00 Introduction
1:04 Round 1 (Sharpness in the middle)
2:02 Round 2 (Sharpness in the corner)
3:20 Round 3 (Diffraction)
4:06 Conclusion
The lenses were tested using a Canon M50 camera set at 24 Megapixels. As this video focuses only on sharpness performance, the following in-camera corrections where turned on during testing: Peripheral illumination correction, distortion correction and chromatic aberration correction. Diffraction corrections were turned off.
The 24mm lens was mounted on the Canon M50 using the Canon EF-EOS M Mount Adapter that doesn`t affect image quality because it doesn`t have any optical elements.

can you compare 24mm on crop vs 40mm on FF? and also 50mm 1.8stm vs 40mm f2,8 stm on ff? just to see if there is reason to go mirrorless or fullframe
The second option, Canon 50mm f1.8 STM vs Canon 40mm f2.8 STM on Full Frame is in plan. From a lens standpoint, one of the main reasons for switching to mirrorless is lens decalibraton issues being cancelled out by the mirrorless camera. If a lens is decalibrated on dslrs, the same-exact lens will have no issues on a mirrorless camera - that's because the two cameras focus differently. Hope it helps!
24 mm is definitely sharper.
