What do you thing about this lens? Does it suit your needs?
I use this lens on my 90D, a camera that supposedly "punishes" cheaper lenses because of it's 32 mp sensor, but, to me, it works great: it just seems to produce good photos, and I can't fault the sharpness. I'ts useful for video too. In fact, it's the default lens on my camera because of its size and weight.
Yes, the 32mp resolution is quite a "punishment" for every lens, but this 24mm can handle it. I have a M6 Mark II (it has the same resolution). Video work is also pleasant with this lens. When you add the small size & weight and the 38mm full frame equivalent, we have the perfect recipe for a lens that, most of the time, will stay mounted on the camera.
left a comment bc i have this lens
On the Canon SL2 this lens is good for video. Being EF-S, I can't use the speed booster but I do have a mount adapter for M6II camera.
Ah, the SL2, nice DSLR, it has Canon`s Dual Pixel AF - this, together with the STM focusing motor of the lens, great combination for video, I agree.
How would it be recommended to hold the device? The lens and the body separately or can I keep them together?:)
One of the biggest advantages that this lens brings is the small size and weight - it keeps the whole set-up (camera+lens) small and light. I would recommend keeping the 24mil mounted on the camera if you are doing some street photography - this is the reason why I bought it.
Hi , just got mine used at a bargain price , what f stop would u recommend for street photography with a good amount of sunlight ? I'm torn between 3.5 and 4.5
A lot of street photographers use Aperture Priority while being outside on a sunny day (me included). It really depends on the situation (what is your artistic intention/how much sun there actually is), but I usually leave mine at f/4.5, on a sunny day, and keep my eye on the shutter speed to never go under 1/250 (if my intention is to freeze the action of people that are just walking around). Hope it helps! All the best!
im comparing this review with the 22mm ef m review...this lens on 3.5 is a little bit sharpen than 2mm ef m at f4 .... do you think that this lens y sharpener than ef m 22mm?? thanks for the reviews
Hi! I made a video on this subject. It is called "Canon 22mm f2 vs Canon 24mm f2.8 - Sharpness Test no.2" - and here is the link: ruclips.net/video/jVg6A_av3eM/видео.html . The two lenses (ef-m 22mm and ef-s 24mm) have almost the exact same sharpness - hard to tell a difference at f/3.5, but the 24mm lens wins at diffraction. Watch the Sharpness Test Video for more details. Cheers!
@@apertureatlas 🙌🙌🙌 thanks! I Will see the videoooo 👍👍👍
I love mine, combined with my 7d, it’s my go to camera….
Hello, does it works with the T8i?
Hi, yes, it does.
