Funny how the JW family video doesn’t reveal the consequences that the daughter wearing ripped jeans will suffer if she doesn’t “do the right thing”. It’s a veiled threat ! ! 😳. Also;
a key component here is DAD. Newly acquired dad is an Elder and has to appear to be very spiritual to the congregation and has to “preside over his family in a fine manner”, so the entire family must also appear to be “exemplary” in the congregation. So if she doesn’t “do the right thing”, she’ll certainly be FOGed until she conforms. (Fear, Obligation & Guilted). And if she still refuses to conform, she’ll undoubtedly be labeled as bad association, soft shunned and DaD may lose his ‘privileges’. Much of it is about appearances.

I think the GB and Elders ARE the problem. They look at women and scope them out the same way a pedophile-trying-not-to-be-a-pedophile but IS, scopes out the kids in KHs. Back in the 50’s when I was just a little kid, I think they’re called “Brazil Nuts” were known then as “Ni-er Toes”. For a kid or anybody, it just wasn’t racist. When I grew up, one Thanksgiving I went to a Store and asked where the “Ni-er Toes” were. That is when I was educated, with great shock and embarrassment as to the actual name of the nuts. I swear, I didn’t know! But it wasn’t racist as it would be now. Just like I go to a store and if unfamiliar, might ask where the “Crackers” are.

I love when celebrities call out JW's. Anyone remember the Kevin Costner movie, A Perfect World, where he slammed JW's? or in Friday when the JW's come witnessing? also JW's made it on the show Alf. Alf calls them out in one of the episodes. Man JW's were pissed. Many JW kids were not allowed to watch Alf after that doozy lol.
I legit know of a brother who got DF’d for wearing fitted dress shirts. My guy was in shape; he was said to be a distraction to the sisters. Apparently he got DF’d b/c of his “attitude” for not changing his dress & grooming, causing division & being a stumbling block.
True story. Grew up w this cat, & he was a M.S at the time. This happened like 2-3 yrs ago, which was another nail in the coffin. Our C.O told us this during my last Elder’s meeting, & stated “how sad it was to see a young brother succumb to Satan’s way of thinking causing disunity.”

I remember when a brother in the congregation I went to was wearing fitted pants and it was blown up into this big issue when it really was his choice as to what he wore.
Ha! Let’s face it: no one in a KH would be happy unless they had something to “stumble” over. They are bored. Compare it to a Tenants Council or Homeowners Association who is made up of little ‘ol ladies and men or bored younger ones who feel they are losing control. So they put on an “important” title and March around spying on their neighbors and measuring the length of your grass. Without that gossip and drama, who would they be? What would they do? JWs must call their weirdness by it’s correct name: BOREDOM. 😂😮😢😂❤

I’ve made the same point regarding fitting pants such as leggings, yoga pants, etc…. If a heavier person can wear them, what’s the difference in me wearing them having a shape?!
I’ve been in the fitness industry & always worked out. I used to get in trouble for wearing “short shorts”, they weren’t that short or inappropriate in the sense they showed anything other than my legs. However, other sisters would wear shorts to gatherings, etc but I was always picked at because I worked out & looked good in them (as told by my mother). Same with “short” skirts. They weren’t short but if I wore anything at knee length, I was picked at but other sisters seemed to get away with them. It was always a battle.
I literally have to mute when Toni Morrison says more than one sentence. And when that came right after Letts face, I almost threw the remote at the TV.
I have faded many years ago. I decided never to click on JW org or apostate material until recently. By watching ex jw videos I also have to endure seeing jw org for the first time. Some of it I wish I could unsee.

Yeah but I remember when the fashion for high school boys was “pegged pants”. It wasn’t homosexual, it was “pegged pants”, pants so tight they could barely fit their foot through. It’s all just fashion. Look at the weird stuff in magazines. No one buys or wears what they don’t like. Just choose according to your own preferences.
Watch the Walmart people on RUclips. They showed this one HUGE woman wearing tight pants and in the butt of the pants was a FACE so with each step she took, the expression on the face changed drastically! It’s laughable or it’s insulting. I used to have a boyfriend with such a beer belly that he could NOT keep his pants up. I liked HIM but hated the damned clothes! I’d plead, beg, offer to shop for new clothing. Nothing worked. I liked him but was too embarrassed and finally left. Just walked away one day when his pants fell. It has nothing to do with God. It has to do with what you’ll put up with and wont, your preferences and boundaries, how you look with someone (yes, we are vain) and what the other person prefers even over you. It’s a people-thing, fashion.

It was about Jesus and was very popular until they suddenly pulled it from production. I heard two reasons why… Other religions started using it and the other it put to much emphasis on Jesus and not jehova. Either way it totally disappeared. I can’t find it anywhere. The song title is like a play on words of the book title .

A book by Greg Olsen - If You Tell. It’s a true story about domestic abuse. Please read this book with caution it has very sensitive topics. The abuse growing up as a JW is so layered it takes great introspection to realize how deeply they wound. Their videos are both hilarious and disturbing. Ty my friend for speaking your truth.

"Jehovah's unchanging standards" would have been understood very differently by these old guys' grandparents. Back in the olden days, if a woman were to show her ankles, she would be subject to at least public scorn and ridicule. A woman who wore pants could be arrested for public indecency, and I know of at least one case from the 1800s in Montana where that was exactly what happened. It seems as if these old guys from the Watchtower don't understand that fashion and a sense of decency DO IN FACT change over time. But it's whatever they think is right is what is right, because they have "God's spirit." They're so clearly just self appointed spokesmen for god himself. And that's the definition of blasphemy.
