    This confirms exactly how the slots behave when you play. I find the constant "near misses" very annoying. Too many will send me packing in a big hurry. I don't play slots to be constantly frustrated. So, when this nonsense starts, I will cash out on the next screen that has a massive near miss, i.e., all of the bonus symbols show up, but nothing in the first column to go with it. That's when I cash out, and I leave that ridiculous screen up for all to see. To the slot manufacturers: Either hit or don't hit, but tone down all the near misses. Many of us just go to enjoy the games & have some reasonable play time, we don't appreciate this type of BS. I have no problem paying (losing $) for this form of entertainment as long as it is fun. Gambling is a luxury, it's not a necessity, & if I'm not having fun, I have no problem taking my $ right back out the door.

      Dont gamble if you gonna get mad kiddo. I lose thousands and just laugh it off. Once you enter the casino, your mindset should be "Im gonna lose buts lets hope for a win". If you get up and I get the jackpot right after I bet you are the kind of person to be like "omg! I was still playing. Thats my machine!" Like come on, you got your voucher and left kiddo. I can tell you are a horrid person just by you getting so mad at a screen. I hope your kids are better.

      I couldn't disagree with you more.
      Casinos no matter what they say,do everything to get you addicted.
      And fully if they can.
      It used to be to win.
      Now with that illusion destroyed,it's so you can play longer and have more fun.
      But before,at least you could win big once in a while and play for hrs and hrs if smart now good luck money winning anything big and you can lose hundreds and hundreds even playing small bets in just a few hrs at most.
      It's not this gentleman that is supposedly a bad person,when you don't even know him,but the industry as a whole.
      The regulations of gambling and how casinos operate their games are a joke.
      If alcohol and drugs were governed the same way 70 percent of the population would be alcoholics or drug addicts.
      Gambling has payed off almost everyone that matters to do almost anything they want.
      Stay away from them if you can and if you can't,learn how to keep your losses low,take whatever you can from them and always watch your back from the moment you enter their doors.

    Definitely should not be allowed to program a machine to change the symbols after the RNG found there was no win and neither should clustering. Just show whatever symbols were pulled by the RNG and leave it at that and any off-screen symbols should be randomly selected the same as the on screen symbols. Very manipulative practice and shame on all involved who thought this was acceptable.

  • @timd1833
    @timd1833 5 месяцев назад +5

    I previously wondered about the "near hits". Your previous video(s) mentioned that when the RNG has already chosen a BLANK, the software/firmware can place the reels to show a blank near a multiplier or other HIT symbol. I need to show this video to my wife!

    I've been playing 1 credit on a 10 credit Top Dollar and I can't tell you how many times I'll get blank, blank and blank but the unplayed line 2 and 3 will be double diamond x3 and then triple bar x3. That'd be a huge win but of course it wouldn't come out that way if more credits were played.

      The amount of credit played doesn’t affect what the machine hits in any way . But it does affect the bonus payout . Thats why It’s not a good idea to play 1 credit on a 10 credit machine. You aren’t getting the max bonus benefit which is usually the difference between a winning and losing session.

    The other part about the Pigs, firecrackers, money pots etc is that they want you to have a "vested" feeling. Yeah, you feel like you might as well keep going, because if you get off that machine, then you'll just be doing it to a different machine. It is an RNG; therefore anything can happen; however I'm the opposite when it comes to the firecrackers, bloated pigs and full pots. If I got a choice of 4 machines of the same game I look for the machine with the thinist pig and emptiest pot because that's potentially telling me the game could be hitting whereas the others are possibly not. The fire crackers couldn't have been that lit without quite a few losing spins is where my mind first goes based on instinct.

    Just got back from a 5 day trip to Vegas out of 3 trips in the past 6 months. Hit 3 jackpot hand pays but I was still down after each jackpot. Even hit a $5.3K jackpot on day 3 but was stilll down. After that jackpot everything went downhill.
    I lost on all 3 trips and will quit playing slots as we all know that it’s a losing proposition. Just thought that I may have luck but the math programmed into the slots seems impossible to win unless you win early and quit.

    • @mikepark1219
      @mikepark1219 5 месяцев назад

      @@barbaratyler5422 I believe that most streamers have multiple sessions during the day and release the more interesting (winning) videos as no one wants to see losing sessions and winning sessions get more views/likes. It’s a business for them to get subscriptions/views/likes.
      I’ve lost $13K+ in my 3 trips to Vegas with $10k+ bankroll on each trip, which is okay with me but still don’t like losing all the time. However, the free rooms & some dining comps make up for my losses. I gamble responsibly, and take small wins on each machine that I play. Sometimes I do get into a chase on a machine but have a stop loss of $3K which luckily hasn’t happened. My $5.3K jackpot win was at $2.5k in but was still losing at that time so continued to play other machines.

      @@barbaratyler5422 There is no way all these streamers winning jackpots are actually ahead in their winnings. You can't win a jackpot unless you put money in...and you're always going to end up putting more in than you get back. So I’m a very avid gambler & Ive noticed that every time I only play 1 line on a 9 line slot the game immediately lays out a “would-be” jackpot or ENORMOUS hit on the 2nd & 3rd lines….and if I play 3 lines it immediately lays out a “would-be” jackpot or ENORMOUS hit on the 4th & 5th lines…and again if I play 5 lines it immediately lays out a “would-be” jackpot or ENORMOUS hit on the 6th & 7th line (and so on). I’ve never had any kind of emotional response to this because I just assume it’s a tactic built into the machine to try & entice the player into betting more money…am I right? Is this an actual specific strategy programmed into the games or am I just the lone idiot who passes up 37 jackpots every time I play a 9 line slot🤷🏻‍♂️😂
    PS- for what it’s worth I (much more often than not) eventually hit big on the line(s) I’m playing (I’ll usually play 1 line or 3 lines at max bet so that when it hits it POPS

      Every spin is completely random. Just like a roulette. They cannot reflect anything because they have no idea what the next outcome is gonna be. Just because you spent $1000 and got $0 back, doesn't mean the big prize is closer. The odds on every spin are always the same. The outcome of the previous 100 spins has 0 influence on the current one.

    It's hard to hear that the casinos "hearts" are in the right place when they practice all the shady stuff that they do.
    Now, I cannot speak for ALL casinos, and I'm sure some aren't as scummy...but let's face facts. They are in the business of making the most profits they can in the shortest amount of time possible. That's why machines are rigged for near misses. That's why there are no clocks in the casino. That's why the carpet is so god awful ugly. So many things go into the tricking of the mind that you could actually call it manipulating the mind.

    I do not play the reissued games of the "Classic" machines. Took me 1 time of playing these machines for quite a few hours to figure out, that they were very different from the "Classic" machines. Symbols that rarely come up ie: double double symbols were coming up frequently with no 3rd matching symbol. On "Classic" double double diamonds the 2 multiplier symbols rarely come up together.

    • @4jp
      @4jp 5 месяцев назад +1

      The probability of a double diamond symbol is like 1/32, so the chance of landing two of them is 1/32 * 1/32 * 31/32 * 3 (because there are three ways to get it: 22A, 2A2, A22). That is 1/352.

    Marc. great video love your channel. I am curious how manufactures determine the value of a slot machine spin or how much is paid back on a certain winning spin or bonus spin. How do they determine that pay back value and is the gaming commission involved to make sure it is not paying much pay back on any given winning spin or bonus when the machine is new and ready for use.

    • @SlottyMcSlotface
      @SlottyMcSlotface 4 месяца назад

      All games have to be tested by an approved test house such as GLI, and in many markets require secondary approval from the regulator (gaming board).
      I'm relation to your first question, it's actually not that complicated, at least in the most basic sense....
      Slot machine maths is pretty much based on statistics. Assuming the stake is 50c, to make the game achieve 90% you simply need to know that the average pay per spin is 45c. This is done via a combination of odds for every pay, the paytable (or awards), odds for features, and the averages for those features.

    • @GambleSmart
      @GambleSmart  5 месяцев назад +1

      The slot knows exactly what the result of the spin is going to be the moment you press the spin button or pull the handle. Since it knows this, it can do the "luck has arrived" or the "shaky shaky" since it already knows the result.

    This is why I never read the instructions or rules on the games. I never know what the highest paying symbols are or the bonus symbols are, and I never pay attention to the fluff like the firecrackers growing or pig growing in size. I just pay attention to my time and money, and I give myself a time limit or spending limit. That way, if I do hit something big, I'm presently surprised. If I dont within my limit, I walk away. It's my way to not let the slot machine mess with me if I don't know what's near missing.

I will walk away from a machine with full pots if iI don't get the bonus within $40. I honestly believe most gamblers will chase. Now I will sit down at a machine with full pots because to me, that means the bonus hasn't gone off in awhile. But I still stick to $40.

    Another clever trick is giving near misses or teaser wins when reaching a ten dollar mark. Example: when playing and your reaching lets say the $40 dollar mark on your bankroll the machine starts with the near misses or teaser wins to make you go past the possible cash out mark and entice you to keep going. I can literally call out the upcoming near misses as I watch how much money is in the machine. Its very consistent meaning the random number generator gets affected by the money amount in the machine. The near misses get even stronger when reaching the end of your bankroll. How much money thats in the machine definitely affects the RNG.

    • @SlottyMcSlotface
      @SlottyMcSlotface 4 месяца назад

      @@SlottyMcSlotface Sure we're told by various so-called slot experts that certain things would be illegal if a casino did it, but I don't think that's the reality. If a casino can load your players card with free play, keep track of your wins/losses, give you extra point multipliers, and the casino personnel know exactly what machine you are on at any time...sure they can rig these machines.

    • @SlottyMcSlotface
      @SlottyMcSlotface 4 месяца назад

      @@Werewolf0216 everything you mention there is nothing to do with the maths on the machine. The back office system will alert the attendant to a handpay or service button press, but that's entirely different to "rigging" a machine. For example, you can't change the RTP of a machine without turning it on and off again, it's impossible and designed that way to adhere to the regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Your win / loss rate is purely a record of cash in, cash out - again nothing to do with the maths of the game, just a statement of fact.
      Loading with free play is another thing that has no impact on the maths of the game, it treats it just like physical cash.
      Don't get me wrong, I understand the scepticism, and if I didn't do the job I so, I would likely believe the same things you do ;)
