We were at the casino last week with a $500 budget. We were down to our last hundred and we put it into one of our favorite low volatility slots. We got back up to $300 and we really wanted to try to make the rest back, but you, Dave and Brantley were on our shoulders telling us to go home, so we did. Thank you all for your excellent education. We have many more stories like this where we wanted to do something and we hear you all and then we do better. You have caused us to take breaks, stop gambling when we get angry, leave, etc. You all have made us much better gamblers, and we are so grateful for it.
Once had a cashier tell me to take a break after she cashed a couple of tickets totaling $800 for me. Took her advice and went home. At least I did the right thing that time!
I just realized I have a gambling issue last weekend when I took $2,000 to the casino that I won the week before and gave it all back expecting a better payout. I will never go back to the casino without someone to go with and be my logic.
Hi Marc. What a well organized video. I admit, I've never thought of making a stop time and take the winnings and put it away. This is funny, when I was married, my husband wld never bet a quarter. We wld go with a group of family and we had 2 groups. Those who play and Those who hv cocktails. Ha. I hit a royal flush the 3rd spin, $4000. Called my husband and gave him it all to hold for me. There was another time in Foxwoods, 5 reel fire sevens. Hit $4000. Did the same thing. Well, he's gone now and I do wind up putting back all the winnings. That's why I now have both yr money boxes. To serve 2 different reasons of control. This video is definitely a repeater to watch. You played out the order, with reasoning. And gd reasoning. Hv a gd week. Thank you. 😊
What I’ve learned from my playing experiences is a) that if a machine is going to pay you,it will very often play right away, b) avoid chasing a win. If you’ve dumped $50 out of $100, you’ll want to keep chasing this machine hoping it will give it back. Sometimes it does, often it doesn’t. It would be best to try for another machine that might reward you right off the bat, c) and this one’s an important one. WALK AWAY from any machine that you are able to land one of its special bonus rounds and you only recuperate just over your initial balance after the bonus rounds. An example of this would be if you started with $100 and after pumping in $45 into the game you win a bonus round and after the bonus round you end up with just over your initial balance. This machine is NOT going to pay you anymore. This is just from my experience.
Have a set budget. Yes, entertainment budget. If you win, take some home and add it to your budget for the next time. Break up your playing into sessions. It helps your comps. Frequently pull your money out and shoving it back in 😊 For a low rollover like me, I move to look for another game after losing $20. Watch these teaching channels and read the comments which can always share tips on slot games. Good luck everyone!!😊
You gamble like me! My bestie will play back a $500.00 dollars win, ask me for a $100.00 and then drive home pissed because she list her money😅 So I made her promise not to be angry with me the next time we go to the casino, because I'm going to take over control of our exit plan, she's making me want to gamble alone, I just don't get it...
Move to another machine after loosing $20. Well you could be moving to soon. You know a bonus usually takes about 20!30 spins before you hit it. So depending on your amount you bet try $40 before you move to another machine . Or 20/30 spins.👍
@Jimfromearthoo7 couldn't have said it better, people hate going to the casino with me cuz I keep it moving! Not there to make friends with the machine, (or anyone else)🤣😂💰💸🎰👏🏾 👍🏽
Another great video Marc. Well presented and imperative information for the gambler wanting to be more successful. I especially like the part about not having to gamble all your money. The last three trips I made to Vegas I budget $5000. Roughly $1300 per day. Not once did I spend more than a total of a $700. If I was having a bad session I'd call it a day. Let my mind settle and get back at it the next day. And you know what? The next day I'd win my money back. All because I was picking the right machines with a clear thought process and not playing due to an emotional response to loss.
Marc, after over 50 years of gambling, I have learned so much from you guys, I have enjoyed my casino visits so much more in the last 2 years than ever before. I now hold a 'black' or 'gold' card in the 2 casinos that I visit on a regular basis, whereas before I was just a bottom feeder or one step up. Thank you once again. (and the perks and comp's have been great too!)
Great information, budgets, envelopes, breakdown into sessions keeps me up for my trips to casinos lately. Picking low volatility slots and setting limits is big part of coming home with cash in my lock box. Thanks Marc.
The message you guys are sending is valid and viable, but in a lot of cases, it just doesn't sink in. I believe most people are inherently ignorant when it comes to money as well as gambling. My breaks consist of walking, watching, and listening. I see people expecting to hit "their retirement dream," then get frustrated and take it out on the machine when it doesn't happen, or leave a deposit on the restroom floor before leaving. Unfortunately, for the majority, gambling isn't a form of entertainment; it's failure to achieve a desired outcome. Sad, but true. 😢 Thanks for the message you present in such an upfront and open manner. 😊
Yup, it's my only entertainment. So know it could all be gone, but the way I play rarely loose all my money. I save up my casino money. Less eating out, less Starbucks runs, do I really need those new shoes, when have 30 pair already? It's surprising how much is in my casino money envelope by the time I get to go. I'm basically a cash person. Once a week get my cash for the week. Don't use debit card to buy a Starbucks or BK lunch. Everything is cash. When it's gone it's gone till the next week. Pay my casino money envelope first, before treats etc. Takes time to develope these skills, but then I'm old😂
For me, when it is time to quit, there's two things I watch for. 1. I have been playing a long time, not really winning a lot or losing a lot, but I am ahead. If I leave while I am ahead I leave a winner. That feels good. Any amount ahead is still a winner. A couple times I was about even and left. I calling that winning too. I got to play and had a chance at winning but didn't lose. 2. I notice my mind is getting off the games and I start thinking about what I will do after I leave the casino. Its time to go.
I’m going to try taking a break after Loosing. That’s where I get into the chase to get my money 💵 back. Sometimes I feel a “high” like jumping out of an airplane ✈️ And on occasion my Apple Watch will alert 🚨 me that my ❤rate is high. 😅. I think gambling 🎰 is The highest form of addiction that I’ve encountered. Thanks 🙏🏽 for the videos and info Marc and Dave. 😇
This was a great presentation. The points about euphoria, leaving your cards at home and putting winnings in a lockbox really resonated with me. If youre a Seinfeld fan, you'll recall the episode where George says "my little man is an idiot!" You may have the best intentions of not going over your limit, but that little voice takes over and tells you the machine is just about ready to hit, so you either hit the ATM or keep feeding it more $. The lockbox saved me on more than one occasion! Thank you because I never knew those existed before watching you, Dave and Brantley.
In the last few months, I have done better at slots than I have in the last 25 yrs. And sometimes the better is bringing home the same money I left home with. And if I don't, I actively CHOOSE not to. This is a whole new concept for me. These guys are awesome😊
This is one of the best videos I’ve seen. You’ve told us this info before but this one video is so concise and therefore so shareable. Thanks for this one.
@@GambleSmart I shared it. Her: this guy makes a lot of sense. Me: did it feel like he was talking right to you? Her: yes lol. Me: he was talking right to me too
Thank you for this Channel Gamble Smart. I appreciate your realistic approach about slot machines. It is a constant reminder to play with your head and to not get emotionally involved with a machine. Your $10 challenge to walk away when you make more than your bet (no matter the small amount) was a game changer for me and yielded me a $1000 win on a 75 cent bet. Listen I know that hit was as always pure luck but your strategy helped me to control my budget better.
@ 19:00 I really wish everyone took this advice because as a slot attendant, it’s like nails on a chalkboard hearing people tap, slap, and beat machines in hopes it influences the games. It also pains me with people believing not using their players card helps them win more, when if they’re going to lose anyways, at least let the casino give you incentives for the trouble. I try to keep it simple for those who are eager to enjoy gambling with “RNG is king, use your card, and have a strategy you can stick with”.
At Cherokee in NC last week, the guy ahead of me in line lost it when he found out he didn’t have any credit left in his CC. Broke my heart. That could be any of us…
Marc, this is a very important and well delivered video. Im a new gambler and credit people like you, Dave, and others that show the true side of gambling. Using the things you talk about, i have become very educated and recognize what's occurring before, during, and after my casino trips. My last two sessions were losing, so I've decided to take a break until the meet-up next month. Breaks are important to ensure you find the fun again. Of course, the money that I bring is entertainment budget and ensure that all bills are paid. While I have done well since January, i have felt and understood when the chase starts, the pulls of the casino, and credit you with never pulling extra money out. Thank you for being one of the voices in my head reminding me to Gamble Smart and Safe!! Looking forward to the meet-up!!
Im going to send this to alot of my friends. Thank you and God bless you for this important information. This is true kindness and compassion for some of us. ❤❤
For my break, I go and sing karaoke in the bar. I'm not a particularly good singer, but I enjoy it, I have made some good friends there unexpectedly, and it gets my mind off the slots.
We break up our sessions and go and have a nice leisurely meal because we can always get fast food at home. Another break is we go and take a nice nap and watch a little tv. The machines aren’t going anywhere. We like to enjoy an occasional two-night stay. That way you don’t feel like you have to hurry up and gamble because you’re going home the next day.
I live in Vegas and see gamblers crash and burn on slot machines. It's a terrible thing to observe. Partners publicly arguing over lost money. People falling sleeping at the machine they're playing on. I hope everyone who needs it follows your advice. I'm content with a small budget and small winnings and losses. And of course the gamblers box plays a big part in self-control. Appreciate the video Marc.
Thank you , I need to rewatch this over & over. Some slot channels I watch they are so careless with money & max bet max bet with high denom . It’s thrilling to watch … until I think I can do the same & it ends in disaster
Put $100 into a Buffalo penny slot. betting $1.20-$1.80/spin back & forth. At $47 it hit the bonus 8 spins. On #8 the screen lit up with multiple buffalos and kept cranking all the way tp $978. Cashed out happy!
Marc, this is one of your BEST educational videos, thus far. Every piece of advice you give makes so much sense. I've bookmarked this so that I can watch it again before I go to a casino to instill these great points you mentioned in my head. I can't say it enough - I love Gamble Smart ❤❤❤Thank you Marc and Dave 😘🍀🍀🍀🌹
👋👋👋..Your advice in this video is so spot on Marc...I'm saving it so i can keep going back and listening to this before i go to the casino..LOVE your videos..👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️
Great video! Saddly, I did exactly the opposite the last time I went even though I been listening to you and cowboy for a couple of years now. I've been gambling for over 20 years. I know everything you say is true. Thank you.
It's so easy to, so I don't blame you at all. Even I've been through this myself. Just try to put some measures in place to save yourself FROM yourself LOL.
It's completely optional, but if you feel the need to tip for good service, the general average is 1-2% of your win minus taxes. I hope you get a handpay at some point! Just, don't chase it or raise your bet to try to get one.
In Western Australia, there is only the **ONE casino** Max bet on the base floor for all playing pokie machines is $10 a hit. No tax, but responsible gambling is promoted everywhere. Time restrictions for play time and heavily regulated and so much more. 😉 Love your content. 😜😝
Taking breaks is such an important tip that I never see anyone else touting. It's also one of the hardest things to do because of that euphoria. Fighting to align with this thinking each time you go is a worthwhile endeavor and it almost always will not only help you spread your budget, but it will help keep your wits about you and maybe leave with something. :)
Hey Marc, this is excellent information and I hope this attracts a lot more notice. And I haven't even scratched the surface. Not sure if you saw my other comment on here, but, I'll give it to you in short: my last 2 visits to the club, I didn't have my Gamble Box on me AND my ATM card was present... whoops! 🤭 However, I did walk away both times with some rather handsome profits along with some of my budget left over. While I came out extremely fortunate, I'll know not to do that again and follow my own rules next time! 😆 GSGS, people. 👍
I did see that. If you are able to practice self control, then you don't need a gamble box. The idea is to train yourself not to need it... But the struggle is real. :)
@@GambleSmartNo worries. Indeed it is real! But yeah, I guess now that I think about it I haven't really needed the Gamble Box as much... right now it's the ATM card I need not to have left open to temptation lol.
I have $200 free play for the next three weeks (once a week). My plan is to go with $100 and a lockbox, and I’m walking out with my $100 at least. I’m watching as many of your videos as I can because of all the gambling videos I’ve watched, you guys make the most sense. Thank you!
So when was the last time that gambling is a sin and still is...? Well, suit thyself😢 But i ain't got no money but could only afford to entertain myself by just watching you guys playin' Good luck! 😂
Just left MGM grand. No bs. I was there to play cherries jubilee. As soon as I arrived a elderly lady hit. 2 minutes later another guy hit. A few minutes later another guy hit back to back and a lady hit the 5000 with the 5 dollar bet and my best friend hit the grand on majestic lions. This all happened within a 30 minute time line. Unbelievable. Of coarse I didn't win but to actually witness that many jackpot hits was absolutely incredible 👏
I like the euphoria point. I use that a lot when I play now. Take a break and often. I used to tell myself..I lost my bankroll of 100$ what’s the difference if I walk back in again and take another 100… or y should I go and leave knowing I’d come back next week. I fell for that many times when I first started. Great Video
Yes it is good to have breaks in Australia now I am not sure if is in every state but where I live the staff are not allowed to deliver food coffee etc to you while you are at the machine you don’t necessarily stay away from playing but it forces you to think about having a break good video guys your tips make good sense
Something i've adopted while gambling ... I ALWAYS WALK AWAY WITH A LITTLE BIT IF I'M NOT WINNING !!! I usually buy in for $300/$500. If i'm going and going and GOING ... and i'm down below HALF of the buy in??? .... i walk. I wind up feeling MUCH BETTER than walking away with ZERO, which in the past i've done. But the BEST BEST VERY VERY BEST THING YOU CAN DO ??? ... SAVE, saving money is HIGHLY UNDERRATED. Oh and in addition: I DON'T PLAY WITH RENT/BILL/FOOD MONEY, I've done THAT in the past, and it SUCKED !!!
Jacob's Life in Vegas produced a very good video last year - in which he toured a slot machine manufacturing plant. He interviewed the owner - a guy who designs slot machines, builds slot machines and sells slot machines. So he knows everything about slot machines. Jacob asked him to give the viewers advice on winning. He responded: "It helps to be lucky." So it's mostly luck and very little else!
@@5877user Agreed! My wife & I walk all of winstar about every 6 weeks or so. Don't worry Mark, we set our budget, and I pocket wins throughout the day!
I see people I know, sometimes. I have found if I'm playing and they come over to chat... I MUST STOP PLAYING! I am so very guilty of just hitting the button and running my mouth, not paying attention. Next thing I know, the conversation ends, and I look down, and I hear the bells of poverty. Grrrr! NEVER AGAIN!
Also, why do people always bother you during a bonus? Strangers come over and ask questions, attendants stop to chat . . . meanwhile, my bonus is always lousy when that happens. I "believe" it's because I am not focusing on the machine paying off. Silly, but that's how I feel.

Thanks Marc for the information. Love you guys..
Thank you , I need to rewatch this over & over. Some slot channels I watch they are so careless with money & max bet max bet with high denom . It’s thrilling to watch … until I think I can do the same & it ends in disaster
Yeah, please don't try to mimic that. They have the bankroll to withstand the swings.
@@GambleSmart
And if they don’t have a bankroll to sustain continued “humongous wins,” they just disappear and move on.
Understood. Mahalo. I'll be playing on the 18th and putting all this to work. Will come home a Winner thanks to you guys. Malama Pono.
Put $100 into a Buffalo penny slot. betting $1.20-$1.80/spin back & forth. At $47 it hit the bonus 8 spins. On #8 the screen lit up with multiple buffalos and kept cranking all the way tp $978. Cashed out happy!
It's amazing you have to give this advice to slot players --but you do -Thanks
Great video Marc. I need to watch this every time before I go to the Casino!
Excellent advice. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
@@GambleSmart 🤗🤗for you both (hugs) !
Thanx for caring about us. I want to continue to go to the ca$ino, so I want to be the best at it. You help with that. ❤
Awesome video! This will absolutely help my play time. Its very difficult for me to stop. Always one more spin... Thanks Man!
You are so much fun Mark
👋👋👋..Your advice in this video is so spot on Marc...I'm saving it so i can keep going back and listening to this before i go to the casino..LOVE your videos..👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️
Such great advice. Love your channel!
Great advice and very informative!🎉
Thanks Mark!!! Great channel & always excellent advise. These things need to be thought about while in the casino…not after you lose your bankroll
Your totally right. I played a lot of slots machines 🎰.always walk the floor. I do too. 👍
Very sound advice!! Thank you for putting this together!
As usual great information ❤
Great Video, Thank You!!
My therapy is to follow you and Cowboy.I watch many videos on gamblers playing!
Great information as always. I always set loss and win limits.
Good info Marc! What are your thoughts on tipping if you get a handpay? I have not yet had a handpay myself; would sure like to get one.
It's completely optional, but if you feel the need to tip for good service, the general average is 1-2% of your win minus taxes. I hope you get a handpay at some point! Just, don't chase it or raise your bet to try to get one.
In Western Australia, there is only the
**ONE casino** Max bet on the base floor for all playing pokie machines is $10 a hit. No tax, but responsible gambling is promoted everywhere. Time restrictions for play time and heavily regulated and so much more. 😉
Love your content.
Oh, another great tip is don’t live too close to a casino 😊😂😂
👍Thank you GSGS, Marc, this was fantastic! Truth! Thanks for the refresher. 🙏
Hey Marc, this is excellent information and I hope this attracts a lot more notice. And I haven't even scratched the surface.
Not sure if you saw my other comment on here, but, I'll give it to you in short: my last 2 visits to the club, I didn't have my Gamble Box on me AND my ATM card was present... whoops! 🤭
However, I did walk away both times with some rather handsome profits along with some of my budget left over. While I came out extremely fortunate, I'll know not to do that again and follow my own rules next time! 😆
GSGS, people.
Your video and advice are awesome.
I have $200 free play for the next three weeks (once a week). My plan is to go with $100 and a lockbox, and I’m walking out with my $100 at least. I’m watching as many of your videos as I can because of all the gambling videos I’ve watched, you guys make the most sense. Thank you!
Best of luck to you Sara, way to go with being strict on your budget. Have fun!
Gracias por la información 😊😊😊😊
De nada
You are correct!
Great video!!
So when was the last time that gambling is a sin and still is...?
Well, suit thyself😢
But i ain't got no money but could only afford to entertain myself by just watching you guys playin'
Good luck!
Such good machines!
Perfect planning...I am going to Louisiana Tomorrow 😂
Good luck!!
I like the euphoria point. I use that a lot when I play now. Take a break and often. I used to tell myself..I lost my bankroll of 100$ what’s the difference if I walk back in again and take another 100… or y should I go and leave knowing I’d come back next week. I fell for that many times when I first started. Great Video
You are awesome, Thank You !!!
Good luck out there!
Yes it is good to have breaks in Australia now I am not sure if is in every state but where I live the staff are not allowed to deliver food coffee etc to you while you are at the machine you don’t necessarily stay away from playing but it forces you to think about having a break good video guys your tips make good sense
Thanks for this video!!
Very helpful thank you
Jacob's Life in Vegas produced a very good video last year - in which he toured a slot machine manufacturing plant. He interviewed the owner - a guy who designs slot machines, builds slot machines and sells slot machines. So he knows everything about slot machines. Jacob asked him to give the viewers advice on winning. He responded: "It helps to be lucky." So it's mostly luck and very little else!
I like listening to your channel.
Thank you Laura!
HAVE A PLAN NO DOUBT TY MARC !
Thanks a lot❤
Thank you!
Fair warning, thanks!
Good video
Yes really good video thanks
What about playing on line slots do they operate the same way?
Thanks Marc
Walk winstar floor, be to tired to gamble LOL. Great video!
Haha no joke
Actually my husband gets more steps from walking around playing different machines than when he’s at home and takes his short morning walks 😂😂😂
I know all about the bells of poverty.🥺🥺🥺
Also, why do people always bother you during a bonus? Strangers come over and ask questions, attendants stop to chat . . . meanwhile, my bonus is always lousy when that happens. I "believe" it's because I am not focusing on the machine paying off. Silly, but that's how I feel.
