Great info as usual. Don't look for machines that have fat pigs, full bowls of coins, full money trees, etc even before you sit down to play. Don't listen to other people on exactly what machine to play because they won money on it. Don't turn up the volume full blast thinking that it gives you a better chance to win. Don't cash out(then put in new money), thinking that you're fooling the machine to think you are a new player, so you have a new chance to win(same thing with the players card). NONE of these things matter!. All you need to do is: 1-Watch Gamble Smart videos 2-Apply what you have learned 3-Have Fun.
You put together great video content and your enthusiasm is good. I was on a really good winning streak and started leaving well ahead and only taking half of what I won minus ,my initial start, on the next trip. I did this 5 trips in a row and ended up with a lot. Thank you for your tips!
The last casino trip about a month ago, this lady was beating the hell out of that machine. I was getting so pissed. She was so stupid. The machine was waiting for other players so it waited until other people pushed their button! Two slot techs ask her to stop. She lost a lot of money. We left and I think the casino was watching her.
@ I hate to say it but I actually see it more with the Hispanic community, before anyone says that’s a racist thing, I am Cuban. I wanted to thank yall as well as Brantley for introducing the Cherries Jubilee games into my life. Just left Vegas today and won 8 times over the weekend. Lost a few sessions as well but overall, im going home 4k up!! And ive racked up so many rewards points in the process! I find going early in the morning, (around 6am) the best as the casino is next to empty and the progressives have built up from the night players

One of the most critically important videos they did was a few months ago when they spent time having an honest discussion on gambling addiction. Almost nobody talks about that and the guys have had important discussions that many may need to hear.
GREAT VIDEO MARC!!!!! The folks with me laugh but I rub the machine for good luck, not every spin but often. It's my lucky mojo method and it tends to make it fun. I've had people stop and ask me if they are supposed to be rubbing the machine. I tell them it's for my own luck.
Great Advice Mark have learned a lot from you that has turned my play and Ideas around on slots. You and Cowboy slots are awesome! I’m still not perfect but have gotten better at not chasing or thinking it’s about to hit. Love double diamond pinball and have learned when I get bonus and hand pay to take it and run instead of being greedy and wanting more!! Thanks for all the great info!!
Incredible video - loved the information and how you presented it. Question for you though. When you win a handpay and the casino comes to pay you and "resets" the machine, what exactly is it they're doing and does this impact anything?
Great video as always Mark. We would love to see a video on nothing but Class 2 bingo machines, randomness, playing with busy nights vs. empty nights, etc.
I really do appreciate the accurate information you provide. I enjoy watching channels like yours and Vegas matts and even cowboy slots. I love the trend of transparency, where these popular slotchannels actually show you the wins and losses. for instance, Vegas Matt lost 400 K last year. Of course he more than makes it up in his channel and merchandising but I love the transparency. Think it saves a lot of compulsive people from ruin.
Nice video. I’d be interested in detailed info about slot volatility, and the psychology behind why certain games are made to be more volatile than others.
I love these guys. And they do have some really good advice but when you make a statement if you play fast and short, you’re gonna come out ahead in the long run just does not wash.
Yeah, it's not exactly what I meant to say. The moral of the story is, you are more likely to come out ahead and if you pay attention and know when to quit when you are ahead) instead of putting it back in. Take the winnings, do something fun with it.
@ yeah, that sounds a lot better…. and I am the first one to admit to chasing bonuses forever. It’s just psychological, and obviously the casinos take advantage. what I absolutely hate are the greedy casinos in Vegas that aren’t happy enough with the slot, winnings, and being able to kick out anybody that plays blackjack perfectly, but when they charge outrageous resort fees, and have the balls to charge parking fees to their guest on top of it. Well, that’s when I feel they’re basically criminals.
I only go to the high limit room if I’ve had a big hit. And I will set myself a budget for that high limit room. Usually three or $400 on double top dollar. Five dollar denomination to credit machines.
Every single time I try to martingale electronic roulette, it's uncanny how it goes on a losing streak as if there's a martingale detecting logic. Suspiciously bad luck.
hey marc, excellent video talk! my main question when i play slots is this"is luck with me now or not"! if its not, then thats when i need to leave. but on the other hand, if my goal is to double my money, thats also when i need to leave. i have noticed some sort of pattern that i can not explain but on quick hits plantinum, when i hit a free game bonus, if i hit say, TWO 20X free game symbols, it seems like i have a good shot at either the WILD symbol, or the third 20X free games. its almost the same with the free games numbers during the picking!
6:49 That is interesting considering one time I sat down on a machine and boom, it was hitting bonuses, line hits, back to back wins, several wins in a row, and right after it stopped winning and I left the machine, a casino worker went over to that machine and opened it up to look at it. Very strange indeed since the machine automatically balances itself over time.
Mark, I love Crystal Stars Deluxe. What I have experienced is that I do better on the machines that can be played at 9, 27, to a max of 45 credits, compared to the machines that max at 9 credits. I only ever bet 9 credits (so I am really not max betting on some of the machines). Do you know if they have different settings between the two different machines at 9 credits? I have had Crystal Stars x 3 numerous times on the multiplier machines, but I have never had it on the max 9 credit version. I hope my question makes sense. Thank you.
That old Top Dollar $lot with the dial on top behind you is the same type I got my very first hand pay on back in 2008. (I plan to fly to Texas and play @ your house. Hope that is okay with you) 🤔 🎰
With Class 2 slots - as you progress through spins, the bingo game up top calls more and more numbers until a winner hits and the cycle starts over. I was wondering why wouldn't you just wait to spin the reels until a given game/card was near the end of its cycle? Theortically aren't they "wasted spins" if you spin on a fresh game with only 3 rows of numbers called vs waiting until the game goes to the 5th or 6th row? Wouldn't it be optimal to wait until the game progresses to this point when the most numbers match and "sit out" your spins until then?
Often times I notice that when I get 2/3 bonus symbols, or 1 minus whatever I need to get a bonus often times the next spin the symbol I missed shows up. Are these 2 spins connected to make you feel that a bonus is close, or are they totally independent and it’s just some pattern that I notice?
Years ago I won $15k on the Triple Top Dollar machine behind you at MGM Grand. I was only on that machine about 20 minutes waiting on my husband to get back from sports book.
A good example of the consequences of dropping your next social security check into a slot machine can be seen by watching “group pulls” on RUclips. Most of the time that $300 in the pot comes away with less than $300. More tax write offs for the individual hosting and pushing the button?
In regards to class 2 bingo slots, Is there any benefit to picking a machine with a lower top win? For example: say there are a couple $0.25 machines with a 3 credit max bet but one has a top win of 2,500 while the other has 10,000 both single pay line. Would you have better odds on the 2,500 credit machine versus the 10,000 one?
Thanks, I’ll give the 2,500 credit machines a try and see what I can make of them. I can’t decide if it would be better to play 3 credits at $0.25 per credit or hop on a $1 machine with the same pay table but only spin one credit.
Can casinos change the RTP on a slot machine anytime they want and/or can casinos order a slot machine from the manufacturer with a specific RTP? I ask because it seems like off strip slot machines pay better than Las Vegas strip slot machines.
Marc I would highly recommend that you use the roll of a die rather than the flip of a coin when explaining randomness and volatility. I think a lot of people get confused by that because there are multiple outcomes on a slot machine and not just two.
@@GambleSmart Sounds good. I just remember in a different video someone said you were full of crap because they thought you were arguing that each spin had a 50% chance of winning so I think they just got confused.
@11:25 that’s the hardest part to do especially when there for 2-3 days. I’m curious do you have to stay the whole 3 nights if your host comps them to you or can you leave at anytime???
@@GambleSmart Wanted to add something here. Check the fine print on your offer. Some places will actually penalize you if you leave early. Even if you pay for the room or a comp. I know Golden Nugget Las Vegas has wordings in their fine print that there is a penalty. (I think $50) if you leave before checkout day.
Hey mark. The Casino that I go to gave me $12 in free play which is really not much. So I sat down on a double diamond machine that was 25cent denomination with a max of 3 credits. Since max betting would have me broke in 16 spins without a kickback. I decided to just play 1 credit to stretch out my time while I waited for my seat at the poker table. 4 Spins in I hit 3 double diamonds for 800 Credits. Had I have been playing the max bet it would have been the progressive for 1.2k.. Its such a bitter sweet scenario. I can't believe that I actually hit the max line payout (1 in 66k chance?). On the other hand I feel so stupid for not max betting and losing out on the progressive. That one big error has had me mentally struggling with what happened. I'm trying not to let it break me but its difficult. I guess the lesson is always max bet because you never know.
Don't feel badly. Take the great win, think about it 800 quarters for 1 lousey quarter. I always minimum bet, and I come home with money, and everyone else $0
@@irene1655 the extra 1k just would have been nice to make my bankroll bigger, but you're absolutely right. I still came out a winner, $200 on a 25cent bet.
@@irene1655 The extra 1k would have been such a big help to add to my bankroll which is very small. However you are absolutely right. I made $200 on a 25cent bet and I am still very thankful for that.
So I recently found your channel after going to Biloxi, MS and gambling for the first time for my 30th birthday. I took $1000 and left with $0. I watched your videos throughout my trip and still ended up only losing. What am I missing? What am I doing wrong? I had fun but walking away with absolutely nothing and no decent hits makes me never want to do it again. But I’m just wondering what I did that was so wrong to only lose. Any advice? Do you guys ever travel to the southeast? I’d love to be coached and you can witness the unluckiest gambler first hand haha. Great video though!
Shoot us an email, would like to help: gamblesmartgamblesafe@gmail.com - we’d like to learn more about how the night progressed to see how we can help. Sometimes, it’s time to quit though. :)
Question for you. I watch Mr handpay a lot, he's a chaser. He was playing piggy banking cuz the major was high. When he got to choose his bonus round he said- "I'm going to pick the hold n spin cuz it's the only way to get that major". I Try to tell him that if he plays the free spins and the rng wants to give him that major he will get it. Who is right? Do you have a better chance getting a major/grand picking hold n spin vs picking free spins? Or is it = ?
Great video. Can you guys do a video on cafe slots? Those are the ones that are popping up everywhere in gas stations or bars or restaurants or even dedicated slot cafes will have six multi-game machines with max bets up to $4 and max pay outs up to $1,199. They are usually older games but sometimes they have some new ones. Is there a way to find out what the hold percentage is on those? Are they as good as casino slot machines? No comps is probably the worst reason to play these.
I win nearly every day at slots... as an advantage player. All but 2 of my 90+ handpays are profit, most of those cost $100 or less. I chase little and take my profits to the bank regularly. Once that $ goes to the bank, I pretend it doesn't exist where gambling is concerned. I have not pulled out $ to gamble with since Aug 2022. Slots has been my only income since Dec 2022. Winning is easy with the right machines played by bad gamblers
Here’s a fact. Slot Machine have a clock within it. Computers have a clock. So timing can put you into a better position to do the best one can on that machine. Example like in North Carolina the Wild Cherry Machine you have two spends for a dollar. You can save what you want on the first draw. And spin again. If you count to 3. Spinning the button on 3. Save something count to 3 and spin again. You will hit the three sevens eventually. Now in playing and you see the 3 sevens form a V, your next spin is three sevens on the line. How would I know that. High Rollers fined every flaw in a game chip.

You can't predict future outcomes like that - nobody can time the RNG these days. Please, please, please don't fall into this trap - you'll get yourself into trouble.
Can you please address the questions does the 90%/10% apply to Casinos on Native American reservations or just State casinos? And Can they flip a "switch" to make most machines start hitting at certain times in the casino (maybe bec they took in enough money and can start paying out?) And visa versa make them stop winning if they gave out too much. 😊 Thank you!!
We really don’t know for sure, but no casino is going to set the odds lower than about 83% (as that is the lowest most slot manufacturers offer). No, they can not control payouts granularly like that. They set a % when they install the game and it’s left alone. There will be periods where it pays and doesn’t pay, but it’s random and can’t be influenced by anyone.
Ive seen slots online where they say you can bet more, ex if betting $2 you can bet $3 and it says a 50% greater likelihood per spin of getting a bonus. My question was is what is the chance per spin of getting a bonus? I feel they should at least tell you the percentages then if your upping your wager and increasing your chances at 50%. That doesnt even seem legal they could make that claim and not show it.
@@GambleSmart It is true on this website I use for sports betting that is liscensed legal operator within the USA and Canada. They have a game where it says you can bet more spin for a 50% greater "chance" of getting the bonus features. My thing is again is this even legal to make that claim within the game and not show anything about what your chances of getting a bonus spin is? It really just seems to be as a pure cash grab to make you lose your money faster
Keno is weighted for sure. I pick a certain set of numbers. All misses. As soon as I change it, those numbers hit. Its happened enoigh times to be suspicious. If it was truly random it would be more fun
Many people just don’t understand randomness. If you flip a coin 10 times and it lands on heads 10 times… just try to convince people that was a random occurrence. It’s like the people who say “I don’t believe in coincidences”. That’s idiotic. Coincidences happen all the time.
The "pattern" that drives me nuts and I see on multiple games. I hit spin button and reel 2-5 have a four of a kind of top symbol on one line. The next spin that top symbol is all by itself on reel 1 all by itself. Lol I notice these things money storm and lobster larry are the ones I notice this happening most. Many many times back to back spins have big line hits spread out by both thise spins. Drives me nuts. I try nit to look at the reels when I sit there 4 hours going for the top progressives
Thank you. We are getting better. Plus we have to try bigger bets. Although there were a couple games another slot youtuber could tell if the next reels were going to hit a bonus based on what had already rolled by. It would tease a bonus and the next few he called out the symbols. And he did it during liveplay.
@ Neily777 Look for "I PREDICTED IT! Wild Wild Nugget and Golden Century were big winners!" 16:50 into the video. Actually he did a whole video on it "Here's the SECRET to predicting BIG WINS on WILD WILD SLOT MACHINES!"
My problem is I don't play slots and try to win a bunch of money to pay bills or buy me something...I play slots strictly for entertainment so if I hit a few hundred dollar bonus I get excited because that means I get to stay and play slots for that much longer 🤣
I blame Isaac Newton.. God is a clockmaker, he said, and the Universe is the Clock. Orderly predictable laws. He forgot to mention the idea of time. So when I'm on the slot machine, I only think of my time and what's happening but as you're pointing out, it's over a year. Specific time at the slot is so finite that chaos of randomness doesn't show... Like the universe...hahaha
There is an edge in slot machines. For example you have probability of winning 49% and house is 51%. So in the long run you always lose. Whether you cash out little money in first game or not. You saying "know when to stop and dont empty your pocket" does not make sense
One thing I’ll say is keep up this same style. No BS. Right to point after point. Great no fat to the point video.
Thanks for the feedback!

That's not why he opened it. There are a lot of reasons why, but changing the odds isn't one of them.
Hi Marc. I notice you don’t play lightening link type slots. Is there a reason?
I’m just not a fan of the spin and hold feature games. They tend to be tough.
Next time I see someone walking around a casino wearing a nurse's uniform, I'm gonna run. lol
😂
I always tell people that slot machines have no memory
Mark,
I love Crystal Stars Deluxe.
There is no connection. It’s independent.
I see people crazy tap the screens all the time and I just think “how far into the hole have you dug.” Then I walk away.
10:50 guiltyyyyyyy 😂
I wish you would cover the HHR gaming. How are the horse races chosen, any other information on them.
Question, does increasing the amount of your bet and the denom increase the odds of winning on a slot machine?
Very, very slightly. Certainly not enough to risk more than you are comfortable with.
Years ago I won $15k on the Triple Top Dollar machine behind you at MGM Grand. I was only on that machine about 20 minutes waiting on my husband to get back from sports book.
I remember when this one was over there by the elevators! That's awesome.
Funny story, about an hour ago I was playing it at home and hit the 1,000 credits. Thought of you and your comment LOL
@ I've never been able to spot it on the floor anywhere. Guessing it's been retired.
A good example of the consequences of dropping your next social security check into a slot machine can be seen by watching “group pulls” on RUclips.
Most of the time that $300 in the pot comes away with less than $300. More tax write offs for the individual hosting and pushing the button?
In regards to class 2 bingo slots,
Is there any benefit to picking a machine with a lower top win?
For example: say there are a couple $0.25 machines with a 3 credit max bet but one has a top win of 2,500 while the other has 10,000 both single pay line.
Would you have better odds on the 2,500 credit machine versus the 10,000 one?
Yes, you'll be more likely to hit the 2500 credit one over the 10000 credit one.
I like to always go to its simplest form to explain probabilities, but I’ll work in the dice as well. :)
You don’t have to stay, but it might impact future comps. Don’t do it for the comps though - if you hit something nice, leave and screw the comps. :)
Fact or Fiction? I kept waiting for Jonathan Frakes to walk into frame with that creepy music.
That was an awesome show!
Don’t feel bad for not max betting. Are you sure the max bet progressive was only 1.2k? It should have been at least 2.4k on a 3 credit bet.
@@GambleSmart Yes it was 1200 and change. Its also in one of those brand new cabinets. I don't know if that makes a difference.
@@GambleSmartthank you! Just sent you all an email!
Got it! I’ll reply tomorrow with some thoughts.
I see utube gamblers stopping the machines all the time...they do say it helps...and I am shocked they don't know better 😮
There are some that do it because if there is a coin or jewel that could start a bonus round, it won’t let you spin again if it’s triggered
He's correct - The game mechanics of Piggy Bankin dictate that the Grand, Major, Minor and Mini can only be won during the spin and hold feature. :)
Yup!
@@GambleSmart Thanks. I updated my original post. Amazing how bad it is posting on a phone using speak to text. LOL
How are fire link slot programed
Will do a video on this soon
Here’s a fact. Slot Machine have a clock within it. Computers have a clock. So timing can put you into a better position to do the best one can on that machine. Example like in North Carolina the Wild Cherry Machine you have two spends for a dollar. You can save what you want on the first draw. And spin again. If you count to 3. Spinning the button on 3. Save something count to 3 and spin again. You will hit the three sevens eventually. Now in playing and you see the 3 sevens form a V, your next spin is three sevens on the line. How would I know that. High Rollers fined every flaw in a game chip.

The RNG real is always moving but when you hit spin the very first time, that is your reference point, for your timing, which allows you to stay consistent. And you will do well.
Hello!
That is definitely not true.
Lots of good stuff but there are alot of people don’t pay attention to what you’re saying . The button killers for one . Thanks
Oh we know!
Keno is weighted for sure. I pick a certain set of numbers. All misses. As soon as I change it, those numbers hit. Its happened enoigh times to be suspicious. If it was truly random it would be more fun
It’s not, that’s just coincidence. I know it’s hard to believe, but it’s the truth.
RNG all i hear and i play a lot of them, but this year. I'm looking at trying games with bingo boards, what info you got on them
They did a whole video on bingo slots! ruclips.net/video/wVSahXuTaYA/видео.html
@ yep but new year new machine, people say they pay out different then before so
They pay out exactly the same. Thanks for sharing the video link WulfTrax
Maybe you could touch on video poker in one of your videos?
Thank you. We are getting better. Plus we have to try bigger bets. Although there were a couple games another slot youtuber could tell if the next reels were going to hit a bonus based on what had already rolled by. It would tease a bonus and the next few he called out the symbols. And he did it during liveplay.
Was that before or after the spin?
@@GambleSmart During. Wild Wild Nugget and Wild Wild Buffalo. I will have to see if I can find the videos.
Good to know I am ready to take my 90% home 😊
Just wondering...how much control of payout the illegal games in gas stations have????
Slot machines in gas stations in Nevada are controlled by the gaming commission also
While you say wins cannot be influenced Losses can be controlled. The programmer can fix what will display on a loss
Hello mark
👋
Rule number one: Did you win? Never Give It Back!
My problem is I don't play slots and try to win a bunch of money to pay bills or buy me something...I play slots strictly for entertainment so if I hit a few hundred dollar bonus I get excited because that means I get to stay and play slots for that much longer 🤣
Everything you say is true, but when we see videos like the ones from NG SLOT or Lady Luck HQ. You question it, it pushes you to chase it, IMO
Its a touch screen some days the slot machine really LIKES being touched. Abuse it you get nothing.
Not all are the same..
Those screen tappers are annoying. 1 or 2 screen tap is fine but not every second.
