I thank all the good comments, from players and fans of this great classic, but there are some things I need to say. There are some stupid comments from some idiots, saying that the game is not complete, or that I played on easy difficulty. that's a lie. Most people who say this shit don't know the game. As I've explained many times, downstab is the strongest attack in the game and it can kill the weakest enemies with just one hit. Stronger enemies or bosses require 2 or 4 downstabs. death adder needs 8. this is known throughout the golden axe community. Even playing on an advanced difficulty (hard) the only thing that changes is your amount of life and your energy bar, which is reduced. The enemies' lives do not change. To those who say "the game is not complete" this is the arcade version my friend. Only in the Genesis version do we have an extra level, inside the castle and we face Death Bringer, Death Adder's mentor. Therefore, anyone who doesn't know the game, avoid making stupid and envious comments. Don't be idiots.
The game is clearly on a lower setting. I played this from when it came out in 1989 and you can't defeat the non boss characters with one downward blow at every stage of the game. This does work for the weaker ones at the start. You're doing the same with the skeletons on the eagle's back 😂. You also defeated these enemies with one dragon attack, this doesn't happen. You took out the first boss Knight with one dragon strike and full magic when he should've required another few hits. Death Adder took a few blows after full magic. I never knew this game had lower difficultly levels until today so new things learned. Nice use of the ledges etc.

tyris is the best character for speedruns, because her magic is stronger. the damage with sword is the same for the 3 characters. downstab normally kills commons enemies with just 1 hit.

Yes In the genesis you kill death adder and save the king and princess and then go to one more level to fight death bringer and his two almost immortal skeletons. This did not happen in the arcade
I remember playing this all the time growing up in the 80s and early 90s. When I first beat it I was surprised and stuff, but then was sad because I realized the game was shorter than I thought. It feels like its 1 level short in the arcade version. I didnt care for the extra level added in the home version because of how exploitable all the edges and pits were. But its still fun. Good work and congrats!

I played this on Sega at early 90s, i was hanging out with my friends after finishing school and playing golden axe in duet, it was fun and simple to play.. time flying, now i am 41 years old but still love this graphic and story. Thanks for bring back the nostalgia😮😢
As a kid, my dad bought me and my sister a 386, and we found this game somewhere. We didn't understand much about computers but this was mind-blowing and tough. As kids this felt really hard, but you make it look so easy. Great job, you put a smile on this face
Congratulations!! Great game play!! Picked up some useful strats too. A.I manipulation in this game is a hit and miss for me. You have to be in the right place on the screen to get your enemies to follow you and then get them with the down stab, that is the frustrating bit but thanks to videos like yours, more players can pick and enjoy this arcade classic from Sega. Excellent speed run, played to perfection. I played this game almost every day after school and became an expert at it, beating it with only taking one or two hits per run. But this guy thought outside the box and played in a way that I had never considered before, far surpassing my speed.

And it seems like that her magic is actually doing some damage. That’s why I never felt like the 2 dudes magic did anything at all. It was because hers was way stronger. I always stuck with the little Viking guy all these years. That’s why now I can barely pass this game on the Switch version because I use up all my lives and continues. God, this is probably the best looking version of the game. I remember it looking a bit worse back on PC. And who has ever witnessed this on those super old computers which had only CGA displays? I even played the one that could only display a green color. Now that was something!

I used to go to a skating rink as a kid. They had this game there with a few other classics. Nobody would play this cuz it was so hard, then here comes my man murdering it in 6 mins! Never saw how it ends, thats so cool

One of the few games that has an ending that’s worth seeing. So many of them from that era and before have very little to show.

I used to go to a skating rink as a kid. They had this game there with a few other classics. Nobody would play this cuz it was so hard, then here comes my man murdering it in 6 mins! Never saw how it ends, thats so cool
In my childhood early 90. I spend almost 6 months to finish this game 😂😂😂. I wish you were there to help me 😂😂😂. Now looking back. Theses games it bring back a lot of my childhood times. Thanks my friend

Played this as a young kid on sega genesis. Good memories with brother and cousins here. We never beat it. Cool to see the parts i never got to witness firsthand
