I realize this is Ancient footage, but i wish you'd bring this format back. I REALLY enjoyed the historical information, and you always do a FANTASTIC ship analysis. Im a noob, but am really enjoying the mid-tier ships, unfortunately there are far fewer uploads on these lower tiers and nobady does it like you do. Did the flattery help? I suspect not....since youll never actually read this. Nonetheless, youre an AMAZING asset to the community, and i for one, Highly appreciate what you do!
The reason Fuso (and Yamashiro) never really saw use until the Battle of Leyte Gulf wasn't because of their guns--indeed, the Kongo-class had the same 14-inch guns, and they all saw extensive service throughout the war--it was because they were really obsolete designs that just weren't very good by WW2 standards. They weren't fast, their armor wasn't anything special, their AA armament wasn't good, and they had troublesome handling (in part because of all the added weight during refits, the massive pagoda mast, etc). The ships WERE needed, especially at the Battle of Guadalcanal, but Japan wanted to keep its battleships in reserve for the ever-anticipated decisive battle where their battleships would win the day. It was the nighttime bombardment of Henderson Field in which the Japanese battleships had their greatest strategic impact of the war. Until the Yamato-class came along, the Kongo-class were the only battleships fast enough to keep up with the aircraft carriers, which was why the others were never seen in the major battles until Leyte Gulf.
Well to be fair Kirishima did try to actually fight at Guadalcanal (and succeeded in thoroughly thrashing S Dakota), but it lost all sense of light discipline and Washington made her pay the price for it As for Surigao, Musashi and half of the other battleships Japan started with were already decorating the seafloor, none of the other battlrshipd was anywhrere close , and their T was crossed by a full battleship line and a full cruiser line, with destroyers harassing them from the flanks. It was about as lopsided as Warspite's playtime with the destroyers in Norway
Love your videos... just FYI, one of the reasons I watch so many are the histories of the ships. Some of which I know a bit about, some I knew nothing about but found very interesting... Please do videos on all the ships at some point, I promise to watch them all!
It would be pretty nice to have a map where it looks like your caught in a horrific storm. Not sure if it would actually be performance friendly but that can just be countered with having it as an option.
Legion The Comrade There's already a map with some pretty high seas - The problem is that the game engine can't actually do proper waves that move your ship around. Bioware tried doing this with Black Flag but failed horribly - Now imagine even more players trying to sync up a GPU based physics calculation. It's not impossible in theory - But I just don't see it happening. Maybe lots of rain, reduced sight and dark skies. But no high seas that effect the ship directly. :/
Mansen Oh not moving ships, I mean something PURELY aesthetic. Waves moving you around would be awful.
9 лет назад+2
Mansen I didn't think that black flag was awful with its sea physics. I have been out on the high seas and it is fairly authentic. I think it would be interesting to have a pitching and rolling sea offsetting everyone's aim....
Jingles, you might want to look into some sort of history series, or something. Because when you talk about history of a ship, or a tank in WOT, you make it sound interesting. Your voice and the way you explain, describe things really work well together. I would watch it. I'm pretty sure many more would too.
Wow how the meta has changed "Don't shoot DD's" you're not the only 1 who'd now say shoot a DD as soon as you see it lol watchin' all your old vids for good times
I love your World of Warships reviews. I don't play and am still fascinated by the calm and knowledgeable information. Plus, you are a great deal happier when retrospectively explaining your fights.
A FMB 27 second reload is 2.2 rounds per minute or 10% faster than 2 rounds per minute. I think that the impossible may have happened.... reddit is wrong.
A FMB You are correct, and it is indeed how it works. I just tested it on my Fuso... Without that upgrade - 27 sec reload. With the upgrade - 30 sec reload. tested with the 2nd gun "upgrade" on the Fuso. So yeah, it make your turrets turn faster at the cost of reload time.
You've sold me, Jingles! I too love my Kongo, and I just unlocked the Fuso...it's just a matter of saving up the credits for it and the upgrades. Thank you for making these videos, they are so entertaining and informative.
I am an avid fan of both you and QB, since I don't have either game. I really like QB for his reviews, but you are the superior naval historian. Lotta fun; thanks again.
The picture at 4.10 is Yamashiro in the foreground, Yamashiro in the middle, and either Kirishima or Kongo at the rear. Yamashiro can be distinguished from Fuso by the former having a straight mast structure for the main bridges and the directions the midships turret face. Kongo and Kirishima are mostly indistinguishable at range after their last 1930's rebuilds.
To note something, the main battery modification 2 does not decrease reloading time, it increases it with 10% for the sake of having 15% better aiming speed.
BTW Jingles what is your opinion on the Aim Assist mods that have been coming out, Wargaming has said that they are fine with it and even went out and said that aiming is not an important skill to have in WoWS. It basically allows people to cheat with WG's permission and it really kills all of the fun in a game when someone has such an advantage over people who don't use it and it removes nearly all skill, turning the game into a point and click with some RNG.
Tristan Lane I tried one it for one battle to see how much of a difference it makes. It does improve your aim or at least the time it takes to aim and allows you to shoot ships which are leaving the cover of an island without you having to visually see their heading and significantly increased accuracy over long ranges, especially when targeting citadels at 14+km. The kills that I got were not satisfying, as I did not feel like I earned them and I just felt dirty playing like that. I immediatly uninstalled the mod. It takes a lot of the fun out of the game and the game doesn't really need such a mod, since rangefinding is a skill which you should learn from experience. Unless you are firing at maneuvering destroyers the guns might as well be AI controlled. I hope WG will ban its use.
Where did you get the mod? My aiming is pretty darn good already after a tracer shot and using the range finder and reticle. I cant say ive noticed people using it but id like to try it
After extensive testing, i can conclude the main battery modification #2 DOES NOT increase rate of fire, if you read it is says +10% Loading Time. that means it fires SLOWER. i tested this on the cleaveland class cruiser and had 11 sec reload (no gun upgrade or hull upgrade) and 10 second without it (again, stock ship). it does however speed up the aim speed of your turrets, meaning the 180 traverse time.
5 citadel hits on that Nagato... holy crumpets. By the way Jingles, I grew up in the Philippines and got a chance to sail a boat with my family at Surigao where the Fuso was sunk.
Jingles, the Main battery Mod 2 actually increases your reload time (slower reload) in exchange for faster aiming time. I usually use either accuracy mod or secondary gunnery mod
Jingles I would strongly recommend that you fire battleship guns one at a time, if you fire them all at once and you miss, you miss with them all, and have to go through a lengthy reload process.
The Mighty Jingles At 9:18 you make a mistake. "Main Batter Modification 2" increases loading time, doesn't decrease it. You gain rotation speed but lose rate of fire when you fit it.
Of course as you've caused me to point out elsewhere, I've more than a passing familiarity with Fusou and Yamashiro. Fine ships, reliable as all get out, despite having a terrible reputation. Her buddy, Mutsu's career wasn't much better. She self-destructed at the behest of a suicidal officer while off duty. I didn't expect to come into this and end up feeling sympathetic towards this ship, but wow, she wasn't kidding when she said her life sucked. Were it not for the obvious issues I'd offer my condolences in much the same way I did to Laffey when I visited.
I think you should reconsider the second gun upgrade - it's description kind of confused me as it said +10% on loading time instead of -10%. Then one day i decided to change it for the accuracy upgrade and when i put it, my gun reload had decreases by 3 seconds i think, meaning that the upgrade you are using did indeed increase my reload time. The reason I even noticed that was when i was playing the XXX tier ships i noticed that there was another upgrade which clearly said -10% or -15% on reloading time instead of loading (dont remember the exact numbers atm) of main guns and it made me wonder if it stacks with the 2nd upgrade
Great vid as always Jingles, but "main battery mod 2" actually slows down your reload time by 10 percent. It's a trade off for turrets turning faster. It is NOT a mistake either. It's works like it's supposed to.
Jingles that second modification is 10% SLOWER rate of fire but 15% FASTER turn speed. I made that mistake in Omaha cruiser and end up in destroying that mod (250k to garbage)
Stanisław Szczypuła yeah a lot of people make this mistake, they really do need to make the info clearer on those mods, probably down to poor translation from RU client.
Alex Linton it's confusing specially for WOT players. We see 10% rate of fire in WG game and instantly think of WOT Gun Rammer that increase rate of fire.
iv just got the kawachi tier 3 bs and i dont appear to have the option of upgrades (underneath the modules at 9:00 in the vid) i also dont seem to have any captain skills either. is this a later tier development or ami doing something stupid?
Jingles! You should do maybe a video series of just the history of Certain Ships or Tanks or planes or what not, Im sure many many people would enjoy that!!
Love those battle boxes! The Fuso, the Ise and The Kongo are the result of the Washington Naval conference.. old but extremely battle hardened veterans that came back to life. The next stage of the dreadnought class
I remember (only because you spoke of the kongo) having a game in my kongo where I one shot killed a cleveland class cruiser! One shot to his citadel and the number 31551 popped up on screen with the destroyed medal.
That turret turn speed upgrade actually slows down reload, it does not speed up reload, just turret turn speed. Unless they changed it that is, i haven't used one of those upgrades for a couple weeks.
im sure some one else bellow has posted this and i know im a billion ears late but just to be that guy. the pronunciation for Fusou is Foo(as in food with out the D) and soh (like soap without the P) or there abouts. the pronunciation for nagato, mutu and housho where pretty spot on
i can always count on jingles to wipe my tears away when your love breaks up on the phone for no reason gg ill work xtra hard in the salt mines specialy for you Mr Jingles!
4:36 the battle that you just mentioned jingles wasn't that the same battle in which the Yamato's sister ship the Musashi was sunk in a air attack and its wreck was found only last December with the help of one of the ships surviving crew which there was few is that the same battle?
Only really bad thing about the Fuso is the location and durability of the magazine in the citadel. Located just aft of the Pagoda mast, if you can hit and penetrate the citadel, you'll send the Fuso to Davey Jones.
I just had a great game in my Fuso. Fired 3 salvoes at enemy destroyers at extreme range (all of which missed, of course). Then I fired a salvo at a Leander and scored 1 hit for about 3k damage. Then I took a hit from a New York from 3km outside my maximum range, which detonated my magazine. Fun...
Since I first saw that secondary battery friendly fire!!! I saw something strange today while watching after death one of our BBs getting attacked by planes. He had torpedoes inc from torp bombers and the same players bombers actually bombed 2 of his torps on the water when they missed!!Two less torps for him lol
btw jingles the second mod you have on the ship +10% on reload speed (it take more time to load the gun it not -10%....) but it give you the turret rotation bonus speed in exchange of reload speed
I hope war gaming eventually add the Ise class battleship..... Jingles have you ever thought about coming to thunder over Louisville. Tons of fireworks, aircraft, fun, etc.
i personally find the Gun Fire Control System to be much more useful, as it increases Main battery accuracy. it cuts the spread down by what seems like a good 20% and is great for hitting long range targets.
speaking of close range torpedo attacks, very fun in the Yubari. I'm a cruiser with the speed and maneuverability of a destroyer and like 4 guns, all I have to do is get within 2km, launch torps and run like all hell and bam, instant torpedo kill
jingles... its a plus to your reload on the second upgrade, I highly recommend going for the more accurate upgrade. its not till teir 9-10 till you get something that acts like a gun rammer in WoT try it for yourself you will see
I liked the Kongo much more than the Fuso. And goddamn those torpedo bombers, I just can never seem to dodge those spreads. I think the ACs I come across use the manual torpedo drop, so they drop their torps in a much tighter pattern and use them smarter.
I hate it when I fight against it xD It hurts so much when a full barage hits you, though its a huge target because of its high Pagoda. I am glad you have fun with this ol' Ship, I cant wait to grind for it XD
Jingles, the second modification, allows you to turn your turrets faster by +15 per cent but your guns require +10 per cent time to load, so you load SLOWER by +10 per cent not faster..you can see that in damage control mod its -3 per cent chance of floading and -5 per cent chance of fire..see how they calculate increase or decrease? still in beta tho so the descriptions will change to be more correct.English not first language :P
yes its a higher tier ship and i should be impressed, but i feel you should jump around more between tiers to generate a contrast, which creates a wow effect to see developments of time.
Another good ship review Jingles. You think you might beable to do a ammunition review soon/ soon TM for the best scenerio use of each one? It would help those (myself included) understand the ammo mechanics better.
I realize this is Ancient footage, but i wish you'd bring this format back. I REALLY enjoyed the historical information, and you always do a FANTASTIC ship analysis. Me who has just unlocked fuso in WOW blitz
Love your videos... just FYI, one of the reasons I watch so many are the histories of the ships. Some of which I know a bit about, some I knew nothing about but found very interesting...

Like the battle of Java sea on Battlestations Midway?
Night battles would be epic.

"Let's get that carrier queen."
You've been watching Kantai Collection eh Jingles?
I'm learning history more from you in seconds than in 2 lessons at my shitty school.
Thanks, Jingles!
History with Jingles, moar pls ^_^
Arrivederci I wish he was my history teacher. :D
Little Penguin Yep
Arrivederci It should be it's own video series.
Arrivederci yeah i really enjoy that The Mighty Jingles tells about the history of the ships before getting into action, its almost the best part.
Arrivederci Look,It's Lt. Aldo Reign
Jingles, you might want to look into some sort of history series, or something. Because when you talk about history of a ship, or a tank in WOT, you make it sound interesting. 9:24
The "Main battery improvement mark 2" INCREASES loading time - it's + 10% not -10%
A FMB I think that's just a translation error or typo because your reload is faster with that upgrade.
hfhfhfhfhize reddit said otherwise q.q
he does have a 27s reload though... I wonder which one is right O.o
A FMB 27 second reload is 2.2 rounds per minute or 10% faster than 2 rounds per minute. I think that the impossible may have happened.... reddit is wrong.
hfhfhfhfhize Unless jingles got +20% reload speed from some perk or something. That seems to be the most probable answer.
I love the history lesson before getting to the action. Please keep up the great work Jingles.
You've sold me, Jingles! I too love my Kongo, and I just unlocked the Fuso...it's just a matter of saving up the credits for it and the upgrades. Thank you for making these videos, they are so entertaining and informative.
I really like the micro documentarys
+Txtspeak lmao
I like the way you do this videos - historical info plus pictures and then gameplay . Good job!
Man, your vids are great! I love learning about these ships without having to go to wikipedia or google search. Really excellent work!
I am an avid fan of both you and QB, since I don't have either game. I really like QB for his reviews, but you are the superior naval historian. Lotta fun; thanks again.
4 years later and youtube recommended this ancient gem. Nice to go back to old history Jingles.
Jingles = The only RUclipsr who's over 40 years and still a cool person that lines to play video games (i am in heaven)
The picture at 4.10 is Yamashiro in the foreground, Yamashiro in the middle, and either Kirishima or Kongo at the rear. She wont lose to Ise and Hyuuga!
Keep up the history lessons Jingles, they're surprisingly entertaining
i finally got around to watching Fury. i dont think i will ever see warfare the same again.
Yeh it sucks i know im hoping Armored warfare will be better

Poi I forget I my home work again and I don't know want make torpedoes effective plz don't poi me with your 20. Cm cannons
Thank you again Jingles, your videos are the highlight of my day. Nice cup of coffee and your informative vids are so enlightening. Thanks sir!

i Really Enjoy these World of Warships videos because they are little History lessons too =D keep up the great work
Jingles, you are wrong, "If it's stupid and it works, it isn't stupid!" Here is the correct way, "If it's stupid and it works, it god damn genius!"
The history and background information is fantastic.. Nice work
5 citadel hits on that Nagato... holy crumpets.
It's brilliant to see this old geezer to be excited again!
I really like the history lessons...
It's funny that the best part of these kind of videos is the history lesson
Jingles I would strongly recommend that you fire battleship guns one at a time, if you fire them all at once and you miss, you miss with them all, and have to go through a lengthy reload process.
I LOVE THE HISTORY LESSON AT THE START keep up the good work
Hello Jingles. The second modification adds 10% to the loading time. It makes the turrets turn faster but reload slower.
Enjoying the history information on these vessels :) Good work Jingles
First time in the under 301 club on a Jingles vid!

Patrick Starfish And also at 1:04 And at 2:40

The Mighty Jingles At 9:18 you make a mistake. "Main Batter Modification 2" increases loading time, doesn't decrease it. You gain rotation speed but lose rate of fire when you fit it.
Of course as you've caused me to point out elsewhere, I've more than a passing familiarity with Fusou and Yamashiro. Fine ships, reliable as all get out, despite having a terrible reputation.

I didn't expect to come into this and end up feeling sympathetic towards this ship, but wow, she wasn't kidding when she said her life sucked.
Were it not for the obvious issues I'd offer my condolences in much the same way I did to Laffey when I visited.
I'm new to you channel just found it a day or so ago. Just wanted to pop round and say great content and you earned another subscriber.
jingles you are going to LOVE the amagi
also the upgraded fuso turrets are considerably tougher
I think you should reconsider the second gun upgrade - it's description kind of confused me as it said +10% on loading time instead of -10%. Great vid as always Jingles, but "main battery mod 2" actually slows down your reload time by 10 percent. It's a trade off for turrets turning faster. It is NOT a mistake either. It's works like it's supposed to.
Jingles, you're the real MVP.
It's technically right as saying "+10%" to 100 makes that 100 110.
Alex Linton Technically right but they could still do with making it clearer.
McLeod Of course, it is confusing.
Alex Linton it's confusing specially for WOT players. We see 10% rate of fire in WG game and instantly think of WOT Gun Rammer that increase rate of fire.
Wait. Originally, the stock hull was 1941. Who at WG decided it was a good idea to add the horrible WWI hull and why?
jingles I love how you tell us about the ships history
Outstanding narrative and informative video. Very professional and a polished. Thanks for that! +subscriber
Cant wait to see you in the Atlanta class now you've got it, i bet you will love it.
Don't even play world of warships, still love these videos... 'cause I'm sad...
iv just got the kawachi tier 3 bs and i dont appear to have the option of upgrades (underneath the modules at 9:00 in the vid) i also dont seem to have any captain skills either. is this a later tier development or ami doing something stupid?

That turret turn speed upgrade actually slows down reload, it does not speed up reload, just turret turn speed. Unless they changed it that is, i haven't used one of those upgrades for a couple weeks.

William Bruce so the Queen Elizabeths you're saying? for me I'm waiting for the Hawkins class, light/heavy cruisers with a 7.5 in* punch

i can always count on jingles to wipe my tears away when your love breaks up on the phone for no reason gg ill work xtra hard in the salt mines specialy for you Mr Jingles!
Who else here would of liked the Mighty Mr. Jingles as their history teacher at one point or another?
jingles ur awesome man, i took ur advice and bought the ship pack, now im havin the most fun with my pants on since the TOG 2
4:36 the battle that you just mentioned jingles wasn't that the same battle in which the Yamato's sister ship the Musashi was sunk in a air attack and its wreck was found only last December with the help of one of the ships surviving crew which there was few is that the same battle?
Maybe, musashi was sunk during the battles at Leyte, Yamato was sunk at Operation Ten-Go
Jingles, as far as I know, main battery mod 2 does increase your reload time, but it improves aim time. You are trading reload time for aim time.
Only really bad thing about the Fuso is the location and durability of the magazine in the citadel. Located just aft of the Pagoda mast, if you can hit and penetrate the citadel, you'll send the Fuso to Davey Jones.
The +0.1 firing rate is a 3 second upgrade so that actually makes a large difference in tight situations.
Fun...
Adam Mullarkey how was it outside your range
I really like hearing about all the historical background. Really cool. Can't wait to play the game o7

God I do love your old wows vids of only you from then could see the beautiful Smolensk that could shred this thing or the delicious shikishima
i personally find the Gun Fire Control System to be much more useful, as it increases Main battery accuracy. it cuts the spread down by what seems like a good 20% and is great for hitting long range targets.
Bit off topic, but maybe some people want to know, since jingles plays it! Fractured space is free, if you download it from steam this weekend!
You can focus your secondary gun batteries on the flying units, its more effective.
Don't want to be rude here. But it increases the load time, it doesn't decrease it. That's the other main battery modification in part 2.
it's been over a year. where's my Yamato review damn it
chris j do you really need one?
Huge guns, big damage, much secondary's. There you have your review
speaking of close range torpedo attacks, very fun in the Yubari. I'm a cruiser with the speed and maneuverability of a destroyer and like 4 guns, all I have to do is get within 2km, launch torps and run like all hell and bam, instant torpedo kill
Can't wait for the full game with the Iowa class Battleship!
jingles... its a plus to your reload on the second upgrade, I highly recommend going for the more accurate upgrade. its not till teir 9-10 till you get something that acts like a gun rammer in WoT try it for yourself you will see
is it just me or are the sound effects at around 11:00 a lot better than what we have now?
I liked the Kongo much more than the Fuso. And goddamn those torpedo bombers, I just can never seem to dodge those spreads. I think the ACs I come across use the manual torpedo drop, so they drop their torps in a much tighter pattern and use them smarter.
1:20, numbers! Whey go by so quickly it's like Jim Carrey's shabablabablablabla. I can't visualise them in my head fast enough goddamnit!
It is not the fuse-oh, it is the foo-so!
Their naming a captain after you in the game Fractured Space you can check it out on their website.
yes its a higher tier ship and i should be impressed, but i feel you should jump around more between tiers to generate a contrast, which creates a wow effect to see developments of time.
My time with the Fuso has been good, those guns are epic!
Another good ship review Jingles.
You think you might beable to do a ammunition review soon/ soon TM for the best scenerio use of each one? It would help those (myself included) understand the ammo mechanics better.
Nice review a small piece of History!
The Fuso is such a beautiful ship!
see this is way i like you video's you go in great detail hope you never stop doing that you like a history teacher
I love the Fuso jingles!
