One of my Samoyeds is super lazy and didn’t understand the assignment at first. Then I realized he really likes it when you aggressively tell him “High five!” and throw down a hand. That’s how I get him to shake. He does it *instantly* and he’s always so hyped to do it, no treats required 😂
Huskies are actually pretty easy to learn how to shake because they always do a pawing motion when they want attention or when playing. Also my husky paws at my other pets and it looks like she’s petting them
my german shepard learned this trick on her own, she even has this game of guess the hand the snack is in and she'll accurately put her paw on the correct hand

I always took Pomeranians to be idiots, but we wound up rescuing one from being put to sleep, and she might be the smartest most adaptable dog I've ever had among a lab, a pit, and an AusShep. She "shakes" with right paw, "paws" with her left, speaks on command, stands up on her hind legs, spins in place, and rolls over, not to mention obedience commands like come, sit, and stay. Only took us a few months, and she's even an older dog. Kind of blows my mind.
