Kind of felt like he did that on purpose just to torment viewers like me, but that might just be my OCD speaking.😅 The gears struggling against all the scrunched up bits at the end was also pure pain. 😵💫
This is a really good example of how torque can bend a frame in a vehicle or equipment. Essentially if whatever you're trying to move, or destroy had a greater strength than the engine powering it, it will loose poer like the first gears and do nothing. But without the proper reinforcement all that torque will bend, or break the frame. It needs to be an equal balance of torque to strenth otherwise it will break. A strong frame needs a strong engine. If the frame is to weak the engine will destroy it. If the engine is too weak, it will barely move, or power the item or equipment
This is why it’s hillarious (and depressing)to mechanics like me to see alpha chad guys break their cars via putting a fkn truck engine in it or smth (truck as in utility vehicle not an SUV like what the F150 is) The axles and drive shaft will not survive long, and I have seen bent frames on older cars from engine mods, becuz the engine is rotating with such force that the differential just melts, and then the axle bends the hind part of the frame because the engine litteraly pushes it (the axle)against the chassis with all the force it’s got
I haven't been keeping up on new releases, so my praise might be a tad late, but I LOVE the new sped-up brick setting and removal. The noise is perfect, too.
I like to imagine that in the future, this person runs the world and everything is made of legos, from cars to household appliances, and all the way to particle accelerators and space stations
Because the shredder was poorly designed. Anything thrown in the shredder in enough quantities would have caused it to destroy itself, the top roller was spinning faster than the bottom roller, meaning it supplied more materials than the bottom roller could eject, causing a build up of paper between the 2 rollers.
@@BrickExperimentChannel honestly once you perfect the design, you should probably pitch this on Lego ideas, I think it has a good chance of being accepted and your following is so big a lot of people would want it.

Cool to see the Shredder version 2.0 ! Next challenge : build the V3 for a regular A4 format ! And it's a very nice editing improvment : the little sounds when you build/rebuild; showing the path of the circuits
Instead of running stuff att different speeds so the paper tears, I think it would be more effective to have just one set of gears at the same speed, that do not engage their teeth to the other row of gears, but where the size difference is greater. Alternating big-small-big-small, and then inverted on the opposite side. Basically, shredders usually work more like grippy scissors. They do also bite into the material more, but you can't easily achieve that with the smooth edges of a lego gear.
@@moot-b8b I rewatched part 1 because I could not remember that being the case, and no, they did much of the same mess of gears as in this video. The only time they got close to anything resembling alternating sized gears in part 1 (close to the end) was the only time it actually did anything useful. And then they effectively only did 1 alternating gear, not the entire row.
I tested some big-small-big-small gear setups (not on video), like alternating 24-tooth and 8-tooth gears. They don't work well because of the gaps between the gears. Paper just slides through the gaps. But, using new blue 20-tooth gears (69779) you can mesh two rows very tightly, the gears rubbing against each other's sides. See in this image brickexperimentchannel.files.wordpress.com/2024/10/paper_shredder_blue_gears_prototype.jpg That does work in cutting the paper into long stripes. But you still need to cut the stripes into smaller pieces, so you need more drum pairs anyway.
@@BrickExperimentChannel I wonder if it would be more effective to have both top teeth and bottom teeth run at the same gear ratio rather than 5-1 and 25-1 or is it just to prevent it clogging?
It's amazing how the Lego shredder either devours everything in sight or just decides to self-destruct in the name of duty. Truly a battle of who breaks first - the paper or the machine!
