- New project: Homemade Fly Rod.
This first video shows the creation of the snake guides and the tools I used to make them. If you need to catch up, this rod will be for the homemade fly reel I recently built. You can watch it come together here: • JH Homemade Fly Reel Наука
Well done ,smart. Thanks.
Seems like mighty thick wire to me. Pretty damn nifty work, good on ya.
Fishing and machining! I love it!
Very smart and simple, great job! thanks for sharing
This is fantastic, thanks for sharing!
Great! Keep it up!
Thanks for the great video
good job man, thanks form sharing, congratulations from brazil
Good job
super cool, I'm going to fabricate a tool set now. thanks!
would this work to make the recoil stripper guide (ie multiple loops close together)?
Lovely video
I need to change the guides on my very old rod which has got guides with ceramic inserts
So help me which ones to choose single foot or double foot and yes I have heard double foot guides makes rod bit stiffer in action
Was the microwave on high or medium?
well!!! Felicitations!!! otimo!!!
Can you send me the information for downloading the complete set of reel plans (PDF drawings) you describe in another video?
Hammer them to flatten?
I tried that, was having issues with the material cracking when getting cold worked too hard. Something with the spring temper making it difficult.
The wire is small enough that you should be able to anneal the ends with a pencil torch, without affecting the rings.
I'll experiment with this and see what happens. Ill make some updated ones if it does.
Do you know Chris Raine?
Afraid I do not
Please run that by me again with a little more explanation on putting the pieces in the microwave if you would please. By the way enjoyed all of your videos on building the reel looks very nice.
