Hi, Jake Sloan. Thanks for your review and sharing. We have forwarded your advice to our designated teams. We would like to ask for more details and some materials in order to further verify the issue of spot 2 (5:19). Could you please help us? I own mavic 3 also and it is very good drone but i found out some issue with footage that not many people notice it. It is magenta/purple cast on sides of the footage compare to center. It is visible a specialy on white uniform surface. It is visible also on your footage. Take a look at 14:47. Snow on right side is pinkish compare to more greenish on the center. The same is on DNG still images. It should be conistent on all frame but it is not. I hope DJI make something with it in next firmware
Looking forward to your drone comparison videos..you got wonderful footage, and the 5.1k 10-bit looks great! Impressed about the USB-C charging, that is definitely a well needed feature!
agree on the charging, thats a nice little tid-bit they added in here. helps having 2nd charger if you have to turn & burn some flights, and not have to spend addl hundo/pack more gear. Loving most everything we're seeing with this ship in the initial reviews today. Hoping to see some more content soon showing details of each menu page, as well as learning if the 4k 120fps is actually useable // has decent bitrate. (in the 20+ vids I've watched today on the M3 lol, none have showed/mentioned the fps // menus navigation & options 🤔)
Hi Jake! You and Jeven turned your review videos into true adventure documentaries! You both introduced us to the Mavic 3's great features, as well as the problems that need to be addressed. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this video! I plan to travel to Kenai to visit my sister sometime this summer and will be bringing my M3 and Air2s drones with me in the hopes of capturing some great footage!
Howdy Jake, excellent production, testing, and first review of the new DJI Mavic 3. YES, the pricing on the CINE model is over the top. I'll be watching for your additional thoughts and reviews once you receive your new Mavic 3. Thank you for your outstanding production and seeing Jeven with you on this flight; I hope you guys had a wonderful time.
Well done Jake. It’s nice to see the Candy Cane (Santa’s Sleigh) taking you to some amazing places in PWS and around Valdez. Mike and Leigh are awesome guides and promoters of this fantastic place.
@@JakeSloan That is an amazing song. It fitted perfectly your video. Tnank you really a lot! If I decide sign up art-list I will do with your affiliate link
Hi Jake, it´s me again. I take it you´ve had quite some time now to check out the hopefully bug-free M3. What is your take on the filters. I do understand the M3 switches automatically to ISO 400 in D-Log. How does this effect the kind of filters you have to use. On the M2P I used to get along with ND4 and 8. Now I guess it has to be 32 and upwards, doesn´t it. And what do you think about Polarized filters. In Alaska you fly often times over bodies of water. Have you ever tried a CPL.
I have a full set of Freewell Filters that I have been working with and they are great. yes due to the d-log iso limitations there are some changes in the way you use filters however since the M3 has a variable aperture you can still use very similar filters that you used before for most situations if that makes sense. I will have a video coming about the filters and more soon
What a fantastic adventure Jake! The fly through of the ice cave at spot #2 was absolutely amazing. I loved the aerial footage from the tail perspective of the helicopter. WTG in up leveling your video story telling! The Mavic 3 video and image quality and color grading was very impressive. I can’t justify an upgrade from an MA2 to a M3 at this time, but would look into renting such an amazing platform. I look forward to seeing more features after the firmware is updated. Thank you for this video and showing us a few of Alaska’s amazing treasures.
You're welcome thanks for watching and the kind words! I think the upgrade is really only worth it if you make pretty good money using drones. for most (including people who make money with drones) the air 2 or air 2s is totally sufficient
I am soo torn. I just bought my Air2S less than 6 months ago. Wondering if I should sell and upgrade. I will wait for your comparison video to better inform me in my choice.
I'm looking to save up for a new drone. I'm very big into photography and the images from this sensor look absolutely stunning. But as I'm moving up from a mini, would the Air 2S be a good target instead? I'm not doing commercial work, mostly just hobby.

Thanks you for the review :) I am looking forward for the comparaison with Air2S :) I wonder if the bigger sensor really makes a difference in low light :) I also have a specific advice to ask and would be grateful for your more experienced opinion. I am planning to do a one year travel vacation around the world and would have to pack very carefully. I am already bringing a full frame camera, with two lenses, and a laptop, and I plan to purchase my first drone for this occasion. Even if the Mavic 3 is heavier than Air2S by itself, I feel like because of the bigger batery, and the USB charging I could get away with brining a single battery and a universal PD USB Charger for all my equipement including laptop thus saving weight and space. What's your opinion about that ? Am I wrong and Air2S will do the job just as well? I don't feel like I need more then Air2S for what I would like to do, but I am worried about having to bring extra batteries and extra chargers , plus the extra features on Mavic 3 are appealing, but not essential for me ... :D
Thanks for the great video. We knew the telephoto lens would be useless for video, but what about still picture quality (without any digital zoom)? On the Mavic Air 2s, there is a crop factor when you switch from 4k30 to 4k60. Is it the same on the Mavic 3 or do you get the full width of the sensor even at 4k60?
Dji knew they now have the drone that has no competition. Yes, it is a huge leap over the Mavic 2 Pro, hence with the steep pricing. The footage here is awesome, beautifully executed. Can you rig a Z6ii on this thing?
@@JakeSloan Dji distributor in Malaysia just released the price of the Mavic 3 yesterday. It's a whopping MYR 10K for the base model. The Cine version is more outrageous, at MYR 22K!
Great Video Jake, surprisingly, the Mavic 3 will ship faster than expected, I ordered the Mavic 3 Cine on 11/04, and already have a tracking number, the Drone shipped on 11/05 :)
Admitting I had several “takes my breath away” moments in your footage with the fantastic new toy/tool. :D
The comparison is LIVE!!!
Truly excellent video in every way. Subbed.
Thank you!
Is it worth getting the MAVIC 3 Cine for 5k than the MAVIC 3 fly more combo
only if you work in lots of professional settings where you must deliver your footage in ProRes. otherwise I do not think its worth it
Great Review!😀
Thanks! 😀
I have to check that and see
We live in a awesome State! Cool to watch your videos and know where you are (most of the time)
I agree! I couldn't imagine living anywhere else
I wonder, in Alaska when will you be able to use TELE with F4.4?
Do you have a lot of light there?
I show it in the video but it is definitely a brighter light lens nothing low light
Amazing images. Thanks
Many thanks!
Excellent Video!
Thank you!!
nice Review, is this the non Cine Version?
yes it is the normal version
sorry, just listened to it, its the non Cine-Version.. ;-)
@@JakeSloan very nice!
great video and wow I want to go to Alaska now!
lol Nice!!
Beautiful scenery!
Thanks
Enjoyed your video. Great helicopter pilot skills!
Thanks
Dji knew they now have the drone that has no competition. Yes, it is a huge leap over the Mavic 2 Pro, hence with the steep pricing. The footage here is awesome, beautifully executed. Can you rig a Z6ii on this thing?
lol that would be nice! Thanks for the kind words
@@JakeSloan Dji distributor in Malaysia just released the price of the Mavic 3 yesterday. It's a whopping MYR 10K for the base model. The Cine version is more outrageous, at MYR 22K!
impressive. looks again a step up from the mavic air 2
Quite a big step up!
@@JakeSloan really incredible footage! that battery life wow this is just what we want for a long time!
Hi jake straight honest answer we want to hear. Which will u pick as ur daily driver, this drone or.... skydio2?
LOL I don't know yet, but I will be doing a test as soon as mine gets here!!
@@JakeSloan can’t wait for u to do he comparison between the 2
Great Video Jake, surprisingly, the Mavic 3 will ship faster than expected, I ordered the Mavic 3 Cine on 11/04, and already have a tracking number, the Drone shipped on 11/05 :)
same here! I was expecting much more of a delay in shipping!
Jake the drone video content is great in alaska I love watching your videos mate.👍
Thank you Andrew!
Amazing content that shows the Mavic 3 is totally worth all the hype!
It is if you have the need and budget for it
Great review Jake. 👍🔥🔥love your content buddy.
Thank you sir!
Admitting I had several “takes my breath away” moments in your footage with the fantastic new toy/tool. Combine that with Alaska, and oh wow…. but my hairless dogs would not be happy if I moved them out of Florida now. Can’t wait for mine to arrive next Wednesday. Bought it just because I could… and because I only live once.
Nice!!! And thanks
Next level stuff. Amazing!
Thanks!
