I remember dreaming of owning the 550, the excitement of getting the P3P and being blown away by what the M2pro could do for my whale filming with the Crystalsky, thank you for continuing to push the boundaries of aerial imaging
Finally something small that actually have the opportunity to capture a decent image! The small drones have impressive flight skills but always had a subpar camera. And even if you could get away with the camera if flying high the crippled bitrate killed most details. This is really a great day!

You could also get the Autel nano. It has the performance of the air 2 at the size of the mini 2. This release just reminded me how greedy DJI has gotten.

Lost my Mavic 2 Pro in the waves just two months ago... after three years of flawless, crash-free flying. I was hours away from ordering an Air 2S as a replacement when my friend sent me the news of the leak! Fast forward to today and I've placed my order! Takes the sting of losing my 2 Pro away for sure!
Definitely stings, I just have the mini 2, and I love it, but it disconnected and disappeared, took literally 3 1/2 months to replace but they sent me a new mini, because even they cpu don't figure out what happened ..201 perfect flights and the 202nd flight it disappeared, and no problems after but obviously a rare error
@The Experts Are Lying Standard model. I use the drone for still images more than video, so I felt it was the right one for the job. Haven't ordered the Smart Controller yet. Will wait a bit. I purchased an extra battery so will suffice without the Fly More combo for now, but probably will order that within a couple of months... and as always, I got the Care Refresh for two years!
Having the Inspire V2 Raw and Inspire 2 with X5S and X7 in my toolbox (DNG Raw still is the best). But the size difference is a huge game changer and with the quality that this Mavic 3 Cine with ProRes creates is just astonishing! -again considering the size. I guess the price makes a little bit sense now. 2999 fly more + 1199 RC + 499 SSD + 299 ProRes license. Ok maybe, but gosh! this is only for the few that cherish the portability benefits. This is an Inspire 1.5 Mini to me (Cine version). Bravo DJI!
I think they should focus on a much smaller drone with a smaller signature that cannot be detected as easily. I’m disappointed with how big this drone is.
What did you honestly expect with these prices? It costs the same as a camera with the same specs andhits flies. I actually think the price is pretty fair.
I fully understand the technological achievements here, yes it’s a great drone without a doubt but I truly believe DJI could have priced this lower. To me this is taking advantage of the brand name. They priced this drone so high because they know we’ve been wanting this drone for years and we will get it regardless. This time I’m not falling for it. I will get it next year

(Though it appears Evolve is swinging a better camera overall) My main knock on both is for these supposed "Professional quality premium platforms" and their accompanying price tags...they should both be full bore out of the box. So If I manage to get a gig with Netflix or Hulu after the updates have gone out, I'll look into one...prob M3..(also hoping RID legislation doesn't knock down a 5k purchase) Until then I'll keep shooting with this Ole 1" Sony that still keeps churning out the beauties like it always has 👍..cheers to deej tho, def made another thoroughbred 🎉
I love all your innovation so far. And I believe that Dajiang Innovation would be the first to discover the unexplored part of this beautiful planet and that is the another immersing blue world. DJI must focus on building high end underwater drone technology that will help us to understand the greater and the vast part of this living planet.
I will be honest. I will probably invest in a Nikon Z9 first. The camera upgrade is more likely to be a better investment. The Evolve 2 is a serious contender in this space. For my budgeting the Fly More kit is about 500 too expensive. So I may consider the 2S but 2999 for the 3 makes it a no go at this point.
Chris this drone does fly. I do love the ease of operations of DJI drones. I do event photography. I can recoup the cost of the z9 in a much more predictable manner. Drone projects are much fewer and are far between. Many of our local Real Estate photographers are in to two camps. The ones who take their whole shoot with a camera phone. The other camp uses a SLR camera and offers free drone photos and videos. The return on investment and time for camp number 2 is not that great. I have friend that is in camp number two and makes less than 15 dollars an hour.

The (roi) return on investment in using a drone camera for real Estate pays off very easily. However Nikon Cameras are also used, but drones give the realtor and Pontial buyers a better experience of seeing what is being offered for sale!

This is for sure marketed towards media companies and freelancers in the industry or content creators. The average consumer probably does not need this much capabilities to just fly around recreationally. If the average consumer did though (and for sure many will) it'll have a very long product life cycle and usefulness.

Well, that drone isnt made for the hobbyist. Its made for professionals, who would buy an Inspire as well. Its not in the consumer class anymore like the Mavic 2 was. The replacement for Mavic 2 is the Air 2S.

Don't worry y'all, I'm sure Chris Hau, Matti Haapoja, and Peter McKinnon already have hands-on, in-depth reviews cued up to drop as soon as this kicks off. You know they've had it for weeks now. 😀
They are just scrubs, popularity doesn't necessarily mean they know imaging well. They tend to use default settings. None of them know how to make a proper custom DLOG-M to Rec709 corrective LUT using a DSC Labs ChromaMatch Pro color chart, which aids in matching the footage to other cameras and gets you to a neutral starting point, then you tone map prior to the custom LUT and add your creative look after the LUT. They don't use Video Enhance AI to convert Air 2S footage to perceived 10.9K with the amazing Proteus model for even greater digital zoom potential. They complained that the Air 2S doesn't have an adjustable aperture. While having an adjustable aperture is convenient to keep the shutter speed at your preferred setting, there are workarounds. Using the proper ND is the main thing, but also, ReelSmart Motion Blur OFX plugin (compatible with most video editors) for about $120 analyzes each frame and produces motion vectors which then are used to create motion blur as if your shutter angle was say at 180 degrees if you prefer that. It's not perfect but very good. So with some magic in post production, you can make drone / camera footage look better. Let's put it this way ... look at my channel at my Air 2S custom corrective LUT tutorial. My colors look better than the "influencers" who are using the Mavic 3 prior to release ... and that's on a 1 inch sensor. I don't care that they have millions of subscribers. As usual, the drone will be given to noobs who don't know how to correct DLOG footage correctly. They are simply good at saying "subscribe and ring the bell". I've never said that, ever, in any of my videos. I've actually tried to educate people and don't make a penny from it because unlike these people you mentioned, I don't care about the money. I truly care about 'imaging above everything' but DJI will fail to notice those of us who do things differently, because we aren't "popular". If I had a drone pre release, my review would focus on how to get the most out of the sensor for video work :)

This is targeting on the professional photographers. For hobbyists, Air 2S is more than enough.
I believe the Evolve 2 to be a better value. It is more of a pro quality drone and less of a Prosumer Drone.

Nikon cameras can't fly! That alone is not better than a DjI drone.

I'm still flying the original Mavic Pro .. still loving it to this day
Lower prices would make is WAY more appealing
I have not been flying for that long but I have always thought that obstacle avoidance is not important if you are a competent and cautious flyer~
I sometimes have my drone follow me on jogs and bike rides. Obstacle avoidance is for lazy flyers like myself.

The average consumer probably does not need this much capabilities to just fly around recreationally. If the average consumer did though (and for sure many will) it'll have a very long product life cycle and usefulness.

I think this is just the announcement not the release, and the reason why people haven’t posted yet is because the embargo date has not yet been reached.

Well, that drone isnt made for the hobbyist. Its made for professionals, who would buy an Inspire as well. Its not in the consumer class anymore like the Mavic 2 was. The replacement for Mavic 2 is the Air 2S.

Don't worry y'all, I'm sure Chris Hau, Matti Haapoja, and Peter McKinnon already have hands-on, in-depth reviews cued up to drop as soon as this kicks off. You know they've had it for weeks now. 😀
They are just scrubs, popularity doesn't necessarily mean they know imaging well. They tend to use default settings. None of them know how to make a proper custom DLOG-M to Rec709 corrective LUT using a DSC Labs ChromaMatch Pro color chart, which aids in matching the footage to other cameras and gets you to a neutral starting point, then you tone map prior to the custom LUT and add your creative look after the LUT. They don't use Video Enhance AI to convert Air 2S footage to perceived 10.9K with the amazing Proteus model for even greater digital zoom potential. They complained that the Air 2S doesn't have an adjustable aperture. While having an adjustable aperture is convenient to keep the shutter speed at your preferred setting, there are workarounds. Using the proper ND is the main thing, but also, ReelSmart Motion Blur OFX plugin (compatible with most video editors) for about $120 analyzes each frame and produces motion vectors which then are used to create motion blur as if your shutter angle was say at 180 degrees if you prefer that. It's not perfect but very good. So with some magic in post production, you can make drone / camera footage look better. Let's put it this way ... look at my channel at my Air 2S custom corrective LUT tutorial. My colors look better than the "influencers" who are using the Mavic 3 prior to release ... and that's on a 1 inch sensor. I don't care that they have millions of subscribers. As usual, the drone will be given to noobs who don't know how to correct DLOG footage correctly. They are simply good at saying "subscribe and ring the bell". I've never said that, ever, in any of my videos. I've actually tried to educate people and don't make a penny from it because unlike these people you mentioned, I don't care about the money. I truly care about 'imaging above everything' but DJI will fail to notice those of us who do things differently, because we aren't "popular". If I had a drone pre release, my review would focus on how to get the most out of the sensor for video work :)
