  • The Chieftain main battle tank served with the British Army from the mid 1960s to the late 1980s. Anti-tank mines are always a threat to tracked vehicles as they can damage a track immobilising the vehicle, as well as injuring crew members. This Chieftain Mark 5, on display outside at The Tank Museum, is fitted with a Pearson Engineering Track Width Mineplough, which was designed to slice through the ground to expose mines and push them out of the tank's path.
