      Shelled Reptiles in my experience the pothos leaves will mostly likely become soft and go bad under the water. It may take a long time and they will probably start to get algae on them, but the do end up going bad.

      Shelled Reptiles scoop some duckweed if you see some, it’ll absorb additional nitrates and help give the little guy some cover

    Gorgeous setup! I think the tannins make it very appealing to look at, more setups should incorporate it especially since it can have medicinal properties to it.

      I'm aware, I've kept turtles for years, and have done a lot of research on alligator snappers.

    What kind of filtration are you using? I have two 1.75 y/o ASTs in a 40 breeder with two sun sun canister filters and am looking to upgrade

      Turtle % He can get to be pretty big. Up to 200 pounds! Eventually, he will have his own outdoor pond

    So, I've started doing research about getting either a common or AST. How much/often do you feed him at that age and with the water that deep do they have any issues popping up for air?

      It depends on the state, but unless you live in their native state, it should be as easy as buying a captive born one at a reptile expo

      @@ShelledReptiles I'm in illinois and I have researched on how to obtain a permit with no success. By the way how are my 2 babies? I haven't seen a video on them in a while. I'm referring to the 2 soft shell turtles. I wish I could do what you do buddy and or had the time. Keep up the good work!

    The pothos is brilliant. Will the snapper mess with it? What kind of sand are you using?

      So far he’s not messed with the pothos at all. I’m using quickcreat play sand

      Shelled Reptiles i had pothos in my tank but my ASTs kept eating them :(

    Hey be careful with the pothos, it is toxic for turtles, specifically to diamond backs. I would take it off the tank ASAP. For the rest it looks great.

      That’s a first I have heard of pothos being toxic for reptiles. Is there a source I could have to look that over?

      @@ShelledReptiles unfortunately not to much and that's why you see a lot of people using them in turtles' tanks. They are fine for fish but not for torts. I'm an anthro and have turtles too. I have some experience on it but I'll try to find material for you.

      Ok, that would be great. I can only find stuff saying that the common pothos is completely reptile safe.

      @@ShelledReptiles may be for other reptiles, not for torts and specifically bad for diamond backs who are very susceptible to water chemistry
