Lucky & Blessed to have seen the "Leon Live" Tour @ Long Beach, my home town where it was recorded as I was 12yo, my first concert attended... This is incredible! Fats (Kaplin)and I remember when Steve and Charlene Ripley came to Nashville and collected all these tapes and more. They took on a daunting task. They understood how important to all was. SO look forward to OK Pop opening its doors in Tulsa!!
Something like Bob Dylan's Bootleg Series would be nice... Every now and then a nice Leon Russell digital/vinyl/CD set with outtakes, unreleased concerts. That would be so wonderful.
I heard Steve Ripley say (I believe at Leons funeral?)that he was working on the remainder of the content of the sessions from Bradleys Barn Studio from the Hank Wilsons Back Volume 1 sessions. I would love to hear the rest of these recordings!
Is this OKPOP Museum location in Tulsa? Is there anything on display that fans can come see? I have travelled to Tulsa on business many times over the years and would stop by next time if there were something to see. Otherwise, the digitized material comes out, hopefully here on RUclips.
I have a question: Whatever became of the TWO Bosch BCN-50 Type B 1-inch VTR's that were maintained by Noland O'Boyle for many years, and the Type B 1-inch videotapes?

Leon Russell, an underrated musical giant, and his immense generosity here shows it was never about the money (unlike so many others).

sure hope you digitize and can get a cd out of leon russell and the new grass revival. Cant get a cd of it. Some of Leons best to me.
