I blogged about Alan Tarney's great early 80s run. "Fairground organ, twelve-string strumming, workman-like drumming, good backing harmonies, and a great vocal performance - gotta be Alan Tarney." Starting with Cliff Richard's "We Don't Talk Anymore," then this excellent single, then Leo Sayer's incredible unheralded "Once in a While" (so great that Tarney re-recorded versions with Cliff Richard and Dan Seals). I managed to track down his one-off single with Elkie Brooks (another great British singer), "Why Don't You Say It." And all this time I had no idea that Tarney later produced a-ha's multi-platinum-selling "Take On Me"!
I have heard Barbara say that she doesn't feel like that pop singer was really who she is. And I love her work and who she has grown into (perhaps not as much as she does), but I had such a crush on this woman. Big hair, great looks, everything! I don't detract from who Barbara is now, but daym! She was SO amazing hot, hot, hot!

Never heard someone crushing on her. And tho I am a gay man I believe her home town is now mine- Dunfermline
Not her best. I love Another Suitcase in Another Hall from Evita

She is more a folk singer. Caught her once in early 70s in Thurso
