    @ 3 mins in, he's already confused. God respects your free will. He will not force you to be with him. He made the offer, you not him rejected it. He's not going to force you to be with him in eternity when you don't even want to be with him now. It's a simple concept to understand.
    If a person has someone they love and that person rejects them, is it proper for that person to come groveling knowing that they'll do it in vain? Thats not love. Respecting that other person's decision is love. Love cannot be forced nor coerced. Let that person go and move on.
    That is exactly what God does to those who reject him. He respects their free will and lets them be. The door is open if that person decides to come to him, but he will not force it.

      Exactly my feelings about giving my son away to become such an unwanted friend and rejected by all, while instructing him to be a gentleman and kind to all who despise him. As a father, I would be afraid they'd defile my most faithful and believing Son who by birth was a Bastard since his dad wasn't his dad! He felt the errs/errors of each and everyone of us taking on our very own afflictions, nature, and susceptibility, and ignored the pain, temptation, and sensations (to self-mutilate Himself) he refused to surrender to; and to instead dismiss, while still being our friend in the conflict w/in us who hear Him. Yeah, He weeps alone because of our absence. He wanted to help us out of our personal troubles and show you someone understands enough to let you know He's with you when everyone else rejects you, or derails you. And to gently nudge you with dreams, messages, and a stirring in your heart to abandon the Tyrannies of man, and to go by faith that no name under the Sun has disqualified you as the Spirit-filled gust that causes you to depart from the Contempt for you will not bow down and plead damnation on your soul, before a friend in your mirrored self-wrath of disappointment and constant self-analysis. Unless you're a boot-licker and prefer to be dictated everything.. I guess it's a miracle if someone loves you without a demand of proof about your loyalty. It was HIS loyalty accredited to your ability to come at the hour of 5pm rather than 7am, with the abundance of glory measured by how empty your own Cup was, to receive this Passion.

    • @peninagreenspan9878
      @peninagreenspan9878 9 месяцев назад +36

      He uses the phrase "practicing Christianity " rather than "was a Christian " because according to Jewish law, in the eyes of G-d a Jew remains a Jew even if he "converts".
      The 613 commandments were not given to prove they can't be kept. They were given with precise instruction and with the promise of reward and punishment. G-d does not lie, nor does he play games. He means what He says. We don't need to be "saved"; we need to live up to our mission in life, which is to seek out G-d in our lives and connect with Him with Him with live and awe by fulfilling His will. For Jews this is the 613 commandments, for non-Jews this is the 7 Noachide Laws. Unlike other religions, Judaism teaches that you have a place in Heaven even if you are not Jewish, as long as you keep the 7 Noachide Laws. Judaism is not for everybody, but G-d's love is there for all who love Him. G-d's "vulnerability" is that He leaves it up to us to excersize our free will (a gift from Him) to decide whether we want to pursue a relationship with Him (which He wants). Certainly G-d showers us with love and compassion all the time, even when in hard times, but it's up to us to recognize it. He wants a connection with us, it's why He made us, but He doesn't force it on us. This chosen vulnerability does not detract one iota from His Supremacy. Only the Almighty Timeless Master of all has the ability to be so vulnerable with the assurance to ultimately have what He seeks.

As an emergency measure at the beginning of our current exile, it was written in an abbreviated way, so as to retain it while still requiring the personal, teacher student mode of transmission. Without the Oral Law, the meaning and intent of the Written Law (what Christians call the "Old" Testament) cannot be properly understood. For example, in the Written Law, there is a commandment to use phylacteries, but the Oral Law is where there is a description of what they are.

Remember he made us in his image. He gave us feelings. They are useful, but should not be blindly ‘followed’ as he warns us plenty. If we experience the “feeling” of vulnerability as images of Him, then He clearly experiences vulnerability Himself, yes? We are human, sinful and fallen, but He is whole and perfect and complete.

Ironically my return to Kabbalic beliefs started with participation in Native American ceremonies in my 30s. My atheism began cracking when I became a camping nut in my 20s & I had mystical experiences in nature.

Normally I love hearing Rabbi Friedman‘s messages. However, this time I can’t be on board with the idea of “God’s vulnerability” a god whom is vulnerable, must be capable of being flawed. Seeing how God and God alone determines what is good bad flawed or perfect . God in and of himself is quite incapable of being flawed or vulnerable. A God that is flawed is not worth worshiping. Therefore, the God of Abraham can only be an all powerful all-knowing and an invulnerable God.

      ---------I suppose that depends on what you mean by “flawed”. Because many would consider God’s being both loving and compassionate towards others as vulnerabilities and flaws. Entering into a loving relationship with someone else comes with very real risks. They might turn on you and reject you at any time. You might show compassion, and someone might take advantage of you for doing that. But, the alternative is for God to become a cold, heartless robot to shut out any perceivable vulnerabilities.

      a complete nonsense what he said. God needs us? He needs us for what? To lift his throne? To shine his crown? To pull his kingdom carriage? Does this mean when the humanity doesn't exist anymore God will cease to exist? he imagines a God similar to Steve Jobs, he created his mac computer because he needs it, doesn't make any sense just like the Christian concept three in one, go and try to make a sense of it.
      If God loves us this means he is vulnerable, imagine a vulnerable God? vulnerability is the quality of being easily hurt or attacked. for how long the humanity has bee hostile and transgressed since the existence of the earth. God has a lot of patience and he doesn't get hurt easily otherwise he would have buried alive George Bush, Tony Blair and their clan when they went caused destruction and death in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lybia...etc
      Again, this Rabbi is comparing the love of God toward his creation, to the love of humans toward others or objects they create or already created by God,
      God is self-sufficient, all-knowing, all-hearing and all-powerful therefore he doesn't need us, we need him badly especially these horrible times we live in where the wrong became right and the right became wrong.
      God loves the one who loves him, he loves the one who wants to sincerely connect with him, who doesn't associate any partner with him, who doesn't abuse his other creation. God loves the one who struggles to perfect his character, the one who serves other creation of god. God knows humanity he created like the back of his hand[metaphorically], he knows who is the sincere and who is the insincere so he won't get shocked when the insincere turns his back on God.

However, as a Christian I must say that it doesn't seem to me like the good Rabbi understands Christianity very well. God put on mortality and allowed a piece of himself to me tortured and killed for us. How much more can he do to show how much he loves us? It is not his wish that even one person be lost but he loves us so much that he will not come between us and the gift of freewill he gave us. I will still watch and listen to Rabbi Friedman and I still respect him.

    Let’s think about this - the vulnerable G-d, when Moishe lifted the brazen serpent in the wilderness that whosoever would look upon the serpent should live and those that did not perished, this shows the lack of vulnerability that Rabbi is stating G-d has. A vulnerable G-d stated Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated? A vulnerable G-d is inconsistent with the Torah. Rather, G-d wants faith that when it is put into action, it is obedience. A significant other that is not faithful is allowed to be divorced under the Torah, so which spouse is vulnerable, the unfaithful or the faithful? Is not the potter greater than the pottery?

    Yehovah Elohym dose not say I am sending you to hell because you don't love me, but He says Hell is for the devil who rebelled against me, and for the devilish people, who like the devil, rebelled against me. A good analogy is this: A man who is a judge, loves his son. He says to his son, "I love you son, and whatever you do, do not go and shoot any inocent people for money." The son leaves the house and say to himself, "I don't have to listen to my father, I will do whatever I want to do." So the son of that judge rebels agains his father, goes to a bank, robs the bank and kills 3 bank tellers. He gets caught and stands before the judge, who just happens to be his father. His father tells him, "I love you son, but I have to execute Judgement upon you, or I wouldn't be a just Judge." "Though I love you, I must sentence you to death." The same was true with Adam and Eve. Though their Heavenly Father, Yehovah Elohym loved them, they listened to the devil and REBELLED against him like the devil, and became devilish, by stealing the fig from the tree and eating it, after their Heaven Father, who loved them told them not to. And when the Almighty Creator punished them, He did not punish them because they said, "We don't love you," but he punished them because they disobeyed him and REBELLED against him just like the devil.

He says that the God revealed in Christianity is not vulnerable One! That is a LIE from the pit of hell! But his statements are not to be surprising. And Abraham saw and talked with God. Genesis 18:1-15 " 13And the Lord said to Abraham, "Why did Sarah laugh, saying, 'Is it really true that I will give birth, although I am old?'14Is anything hidden from the Lord? At the appointed time, I will return to you, at this time next year and Sarah will have a son."17And the Lord said, "Shall I conceal from Abraham what I am doing?19For I have known him because he commands his sons and his household after him, that they should keep the way of the Lord to perform righteousness and justice, in order that the Lord bring upon Abraham that which He spoke concerning him."20And the Lord said, "Since the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah has become great, and since their sin has become very grave,26And the Lord said, "If I find in Sodom fifty righteous men within the city, I will forgive the entire place for their sake."32And he said, "Please, let the Lord's wrath not be kindled, and I will speak yet this time, perhaps ten will be found there." And He said, "I will not destroy for the sake of the ten."33And the Lord departed when He finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.” The tanakh is clear, so why isn't it understood as written. 3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,

      Like one from whom people hide their faces
      he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.
      4 Surely he took up our pain
      and bore our suffering,
      yet we considered him punished by God,
      stricken by him, and afflicted.
      5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,

      and by his wounds we are healed.
      6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,

      7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
      yet he did not open his mouth;
      he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
      and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
      so he did not open his mouth.
      8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away.
      Yet who of his generation protested?
      For he was cut off from the land of the living;
      for the transgression of my people he was punished.
      9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
      and with the rich in his death,
      though he had done no violence,
      nor was any deceit in his mouth.
      10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
      and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin,
      he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
      and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
      11 After he has suffered,
      he will see the light of life and be satisfied;
      by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
      and he will bear their iniquities.
      12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great,
      and he will divide the spoils with the strong,
      because he poured out his life unto death,

Everything made sense. God gave us the outline for a great life. A fulfilled life through the Commandments. If everyone would follow them the world would be paradise.
    So my question is : As a non Jew how do I honor God? Would I be welcome in a Synagogue? How can someone like me worship properly. I’m very scared that I’m going to do something wrong and lose my connection with God. Any help or advice would be very appreciated.

To honor G-d one simply needs to have responsibility, this is where the commandments come in. As a non-Jew you really are only responsible for the Noahide laws, "Noah" was a righteous non-Jew. But if you feel like you can handle more responsibility towards G-d you could attend the temples but do make sure you either email or call them first to see if you can attend because of how Jews are discriminated they have to be careful to prevent hateful acts towards them.
