- Finally the moment has arrived! I needed to finish the wiring, connect it to the computer and hook up the chain. I went for a drive and it's insane, although I didn't press the throttle pedal more than the 50%. Stay tuned for upcoming videos! Thanks for watching!

HPM5000B permanent magnet BLDC motor 5kW nominal ∼20kW peak
Where did you get that this particular motor can do 20kW peak.... not what I see in their data sheet....it is rather only 10 kW peak. I am just curious...

Thanks! Motor is a HPM5000B from goldenmotor, the provisional battery is a 48V 30Ah LiFePO4, the same used in the car alternator go kart.
What is top speed
@@mainesmith2183 I don't know the top speed, I need to go to a closed track, I don't have enough driveway to test it, and I don't want to crash and damage someone else's property.

At the stage of this video more or less:
- go kart with gas engine: 400€
- motor and controller: 1600€
- battery: 600€
- misc. : 200€ (wiring, terminals, contactor...)

How much did the build cost ?
2k at the moment, the batteries I want to put in are almost 3k
@@OverbuiltByHenry insane, I just restored a frame. Bought a 10kw 72v motor. Going to either make a battery pack or buy one at a discount hopefully. If you decide to sell your old battery after your get the new set up gives me a heads up :)

The battery that is currently in is from a previous project (ruclips.net/video/UeJPAhFpp-g/видео.html) and I wanted to test with the same battery to make sure everything was running ok and move on with a bigger battery. The specs of the battery (the one that's in) are 48V ~59V when fully charged 50 Amps continuous and 100 Amps burst.
