Theory is a hypothesis with strong supported and tested evidence. Therefore theory can be disproven if new evidence comes to light. Firas touched on this on JRE as well. But nonetheless yes Tucker not so bright on this lol
So I use to listen to Joe Rogan a lot and here was my biggest issue that ultimately led to me to just not even listening at all anymore.
This guy will have different guests on where at times coincidentally two guests will have LITERALLY contradicting theories on a topic involving fitness, conspiracy, politics, martial arts etc but he won’t at all say “hey well I just had this person on last week that said this.”
It makes total sense he’s gonna schmooze his guests, and each podcast has its own start etc but for the listener it gets so frustrating because your thinking “Joe what the hell are you just pretending right now or do you ACTUALLY have short term memory loss.” Lol
It gets really wild where certain peoples theories just straight up cannot coexist with a recent past guests theory, and not saying he needs to make it a debate but he seemingly leaves each podcast “convinced” by the guest only to next jump ship.
Like I don’t think this is just him being a nice podcast host I literally feel like he himself fuckin bounces around what he believes are its sooooo frustrating to listen to week by week

I mean, gender studies is actually pretty interesting stuff, the intersection of biological sex, culture, historical roles for men and women, religious beliefs ect. Humans are pretty neat and express themselves a lot of ways.
Even across the world where a good majority really only distinguish Male vs Female, the associated traits and roles for the two genders have a ton of variety. Interestingly, most of our historic examples of non-binary gender roles come from cultures disconnected from the modern world, ideas like two spirit or Chibados from the Ndongo peoples in West Africa.

We all walk around with various mutations daily. Blonde hair, blue eyes, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell trait etc. Every once in awhile, one of those random mutations has a survival benefit. Sickle trait seems to decrease the damage that occurs from malaria. So, if someone happens to inherit sickle trait and lives in, for example, Africa then there is a survival benefit and relatively more of the people with that inherited gene survive to have kids who then get that trait. Flash forward 2000 years and it becomes a common finding. But, you wont ever witness someone mutating to develop that trait in their lives.

Wiltse approach of jiu jitsu has been shaped by the scientific method (observe, formulate an hypothesis, experiment, repeat). He is not just training hard, there is a method to it. I believe he cited the book "Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality" as having had a big influence when he was younger.
This is why podcasts are ridiculous- when someone who is supposedly an expert runs out of things to say they move onto a different topic on which they know nothing just to fill the time. Then people will quote from this person it as though it’s fact rather than just some aimless nonsense.

There are huge ... HUGE holes in Evolution. Scientists have not given up on the general idea of evolutionary processes but it's clear that we are missing massive pieces. If you really fancy yourself a "Free Thinker" try "Darwin's Doubt" or the mathematician David Berlinski's work. The way MOST people think of Evolution ( life evolved from single cell through nothing but natural selection ) is doubtable. There are huge missing pieces yet to be figured out. Pieces that will probably change how we view reality.
