To say no one is this good is a hardcore shortsighted view. I’m aware the status quo is basic as shit but there is an astounding amount of good new music out there by insanely good musicians. Musicians that certainly stand up to this. Please look harder for it. Remember the stories all the greats would tell about the struggles of finding “that record”? Nothings changed. The detours just have different names.

I was a Journey fan before Steve Perry ("Look into the future" is a great song). Journey really exploded after Steve joined and they probably never would have attracted the mass market like they did without him. His amazing voice meshes perfectly with the rest of the band and also Greg's voice. The band actually got a little too pop for me later on, even though I love some of those songs too, but Infinity was the perfect blend. Such a great album! Lucky enough to see this lineup 1 year after this telecast for their Evolution tour in 3,000 seat Shea’s Buffalo Theatre. The superb acoustics of that venue let these guys really shine and the crowd got them to stay for THREE encores!
