Thank you once again for very informative video on emergency road tools . I will probably purchase them as they are very compact. I currently carry a 1/8 in drive rachet with the sockets common to the Pan Am as well as the 1/8 torx attachments . Thank s again
Those make for good emergency tools. Especially since the bike essentially comes with no tools. I did add a few additional tools. My adjustable wrench was the jankiest tool I have ever seen, so it went in the trash and was replaced with another cheap tool.
@@MikesMotorbikeChannel Well, I had a lot of troubles with my otherwise very beautiful 2021 PAS. And when at a ride out last year my ignition coil got burnt I did not trust the bike anymore. At that time the new Road Glide was introduced, so I traded it in for the first black on black RG'24 they could deliver. It's a totally different kind of bike, but I absolutely love it.... Still miss the Pan though....
@ I don’t think I could give up not having an adv bike of some sort. If the PAS mistreats me I’d probably look into a Triumph Tiger, but if I were to ever get back into a big twin touring bike, it would be the new RG.
One other thing. I switched to Bel Ray Super Clean Chain lube. Its a lithium based lubricant. Much cleaner than chain wax. So far At 5,000 plus miles on my 2024 PA I havent had to make as many chain slack adjustments as I had with chain wax. Its slightly tacky so it doesnt sling. All O-Ring drive chains come in a sealed bag lubed with lithium based lube. I switched on the advice from the service manager at Hampton Roads Harley Davidson. I believe it is superior in its lube performance and does not attract road debris as does chain wax. My PA lives on asphalt also .
I built my own using the contents of the cruise tools as a starter template.. I ended up pretty close to the same price, maybe a little cheaper but with a lot higher quality tools. I did go with a 3/8" ratchet and sockets instead. I was able to fit everything in the maxpedition fatty pack. Still too big for the cubby hole under the seat.
Yeah the only thing I fit under the seat is a mini air compressor and tire plug kit. I may eventually make a tool box to fit inside the right side pannier rack.
Hello, I’ve been looking regarding timing change tensioners or rattle noises and how to check and adjust if tentioners are ajustable nothing on utube about this engines other than usual maintenance, my 21 special still under the buyers guarantee and the HD specialist mechanics can not hear anything wrong with the engine and won’t look at it, I guess if it wasn’t under warranty will be a different story I was wondering if you can do a segment regarding checking in this area please 🙏
the chain tensioners in this engine are hydraulic, so there is nothing that can be adjusted. I suppose it's possible that one could be faulty and not apply proper tension. You'd have to do a bit of tear down to remove them and inspect them, which unfortunately requires a slew of special tools that I don't have.

I'm no longer a Pan America rider, but I still watch all your thorough in depth videos. That's a big compliment! Keep it up Mike!!!
@@gertklay what did you switch to?

Good video. Just a tip on the crescent style wrenches, they tend to work better if you turn them around opposite of the way you were using it.

I go back and forth between bel ray and maxima as well as gear lube.
Again Mike, a very useful video
