I feel vindicated in buying the Kryptonite Keeper years ago and this video made me feel better about lugging that heavy lock around in my bags all the time. Great video as always!
When we first saw the sparks, I thought.. ooh, this lock must have some steel in it. Then we quickly realized what was happening. Next video on the channel may be "How to replace the front brake disk on an XT250" 😄
I've considered the brake lever lock as a quick and lightweight security lock but I've always been concerned about potential damage to the brakes (lever, etc) with the continual use of a lever lock. No idea if that's possible but it's always something I think about in regards to lever locks and keeping the brake compressed for long periods of time. (over night etc) Edit: LOL, should have waited to post until the end. Releasing the valve or just cutting the line will release clamp down on the front brake. Too funny, useless security on that type of lock. Thanks for testing all of these security systems.
it was someone actually telling me about the front brake lever lock that inspired me to make this video. Defeat ability aside, I share your concern with having the brakes applied for extended periods having a long term effect on master cylinder or caliper seals. But as you can see, it's not even worth worrying about it.. any disc lock is going to be far superior.
@@MikesMotorbikeChannel I appreciate you making the video and I subbed to watching future videos and will for sure go through older content you've done. I also really liked your speaking pacing (some people will talk to fast, like they're rushing through it. Which makes actually absorbing what they're trying to share more difficult).

Sorry to see one of the bike’s break disk become damaged in the making of this video.
Thank you for the effort and work on this review! 😊

Informative and useful as always!!
Excellent work!
In the end, locks are only really good at keeping honest people honest

48,000 of those stolen bikes are Harley’s so I’m not really worried about it!
@@veiledallegory 😆, actually I think dirt bikes and dual sports are stolen most often.
Heavy in the hand, not magentic = stainless steel....
@@Marc-zf3xv didn’t feel like stainless when we cut it though. My guess is a stronger, heavier aluminum type alloy. No sparks while grinding either.
