    For me, as I kid, I always remembered this one scene, but... it's nowhere to be found in the film. It was a large shot underground New York, a massive blank sewer system almost structured like a temple. This dark voice played as we see a man be almost sacrificed. He morphs into the marshmallow man and his skin melts and bubbles into white goo. I have no idea why this always comes to mind but I'm sure I saw it.

    For a long time, I had a "problem" with "Ghostbusters". My first love broke up with me after we watched it... which kind of sullied the film for me. But, well, given that it's been 35 years since, I suppose I've gotten over it. I think. 😋

    15:45 I think it's really cute that they inserted this scene after the credits for Afterlife. It was just another nice tribute to Ramis. Makes me sad they didn't keep the scene where Janine finds the coin in the old farmhouse.

    I'm sure we all know about how Filmation wanted to, but didn't get the rights to the animated version of the movie, leading them to make their own Ghost Busters cartoon based on the live action show. I SWEAR someone must've got access to the early notes on the Ghostsmashers script and based the cartoon off of the time travel concept, as that's what their Ghost Busters frequently do in their cartoon.

    • @nicholastosoni707
      @nicholastosoni707 Год назад

      I'm gonna call a "no" on that one. Filmation had already done _Star Trek_ and I THINK a time-traveling _Happy Days,_ so if anything _Ghostbusters_ is something of Filmation's _magnum opus,_ with the comedy of _Fraidy Cat_ and _Fat Albert_ and the adventuring of _Star Trek_ and _He-Man._
      _Bravestarr,_ the final show, was an epilogue--the evil Tex Hex was created for _Ghostbusters_ but was deemed too serious/cool for the comedic Prime Evil's ranks, so he got to carry his own show.

      @@nicholastosoni707 But it sure is a hell of a coincidence. Sure, it gave them some sort of difference with the Real Ghostbusters, but the fact it somehow managed to accurately channel the original concept is just "Dennis the Menace" levels of eerily similar. Also, I keep hearing conflicting stories of they either WERE given the option to do a series and Columbia backed out, or they wanted to do a Ghostbusters cartoon but weren't given the time of day, or they didn't realize they should have tacked on some sort of clause that gave them the rights to the animation in exchange for the naming rights. Either way, I can't tell what exactly happened, but somehow they managed to stumble on the original concept, even if unintentionally.
      Though I wouldn't put it past anyone if they were passive aggressive enough to somehow find the original space/time concepts and use it to give a subtle middle finger to Columbia. I mean, there WAS that RGB episode where a fraud psychic was dressed up like Jake from Filmation Ghost Busters.

      @@mightyfilm A few years ago, concept art for a GB75-based cartoon show surfaced onto the Internet dating to as early as 1982. In fact, Ghost Command--the haunted-house HQ--originates from this early artwork, and in fact at least one episode of the 86 cartoon accidentally uses the 75 logo.

    • @nicholastosoni707
      @nicholastosoni707 Год назад

      @@mightyfilm The 75 show lasted only 15 episodes firstly because Lou found _Secret of Isis_ more interesting and secondly because Forrest Tucker was....not a well man, and some exteriors were filmed in the blazingly-hot Piru, CA.
      So Lou moved GB to a potential cartoon show and likely planned to reunite Storch and Tucker. BUT! _He-Man and the Masters of the Universe_ ended up being a more profitable venture. That being said, reviving GB was on the back burner, which is why Lou fought for the name. The ideas generated for the 75 revival ended up going to GB86, which was retooled to be more in the mold of _Raiders of the Lost Ark,_ hence Jake/explorer; Eddie/pilot; Tracy/archaeologist. That they travel through time and space as supernatural gunslingers owes more to giving the show a _Doctor Who_ level of variety.

    • @mightyfilm

      @@nicholastosoni707 It's weird they had that all locked and ready to go, huh? Like if they got that cartoon out sooner, the movie Ghostbusters probably would have had a different name. It gives me the impression they ONLY got that cartoon out there because of the movie with the same name. Not that they had any foresight, mind you. I'm not suggesting that. But it's like they had this idea for a cartoon that they just couldn't get together, put on the backburner indefinitely, and then comes this movie with the same name, and then they finally go through with it, but only out of spite. Almost like but most likely not.
