Really like that Lost Media really made us do our own work. Back then it was more harder but with social media it can be possible you can find a missing key to a lost media. Great video and you are one of my favorites 🙏.
What I would like to see is BBC recreating the missing Who episodes from original script. Obviously you can't hire Hartnell or other actors that are now either dead or very old, but lookalikes and deepfakes exist. As long as they don't make any changes to the script to "modernize" it or for any other reason, I would be 100% in support of that.
The following year, of course, they were at it again with the story about 'The Tenth Planet' being recolourized and part 4 being recreated from bits of the other episodes.
Someone else may well have commented on this, but a Dr Who-themed April Fool's joke was popped into a fanzine (I'm pretty sure it was DWB) about episode 6 of The Daemons (geddit?). This was roughly 1993, after the programme's repeat on BBC2. Plus, for fans of The Prisoner, a rumoured ending was shot for the episode Dance of the Dead where the characters go into (well) a dance. I think this was disproven however when guest actress Norma West checked her script for the episode, that she'd marked up indicating which scenes had and hadn't been filmed.
Doctor Who Magazine did a April Fool's joke a few years ago (around 2014 or so) where they claimed to have found some lost footage featuring an alternate take on the regeneration from Hartnell to Troughton. I think they just took some clips from movies they'd done and passed them off as photos of the recovered scenes. So many people believed it that they had to let people know that it was a prank a few issues later.
Oh yes, was that the same as the joke about an episode of Dial 999? Yes, I remembered this was said to be newly discovered footage, from was an archive in the South West?
I can't believe Square and Nintendo never released Mushroom Kingdom Hearts, after all it was teased ages ago from a totally legitimate article from Electronic Gaming Monthly.
One of my favorite stories that I always remember was a story about the marshmallow trees having a famine and all the marshmallow farmers having horrible horrible harvest that year so very similar to the spaghetti tree thing. it was on like NBC nightly news
Great job on another video! This was a great group of stories and fun facts to learn about. I mean, I love discovering a lot of these things. I've never heard of "X: The Man with X-Ray Eyes," and now I just feel like I need to hunt it down, lol. I've gotten really into older movies like that since rewatching a bunch of MST3K and some RUclipsr reviewers like FanboyFlicks over the past year or so - it sounds pretty great, with or without the fake ending. And the fake Peter Jackson Son of Kong sequel where an albino giant ape battles Nazi monsters? That sounds awesome! I'm glad I got this information in the context of, "It was an April Fool's Day prank," otherwise I'd be pretty bummed for real, lol.
Haha, I've never seen the X-ray Eyes film, but I really wish I did before I started research on the film! it seems really good! I'm glad these videos have been able to bring a little bit of awareness to some forgotten relics of the past, to both my viewers and myself LOL
The audio recording of Bye Bye Beavers is an easter egg on the German DVD set of the Angry Beavers show, together with the never aired pilot of the show. Very interesting to listen to. And it explains now why there is laughter on the recording of the audio track. I do, however, have a clean recording without laughter.
Re: “Doctor Who”: if I recall correctly, John Nathan-Turner was behind that prank. I remember reading that DWM even ran a picture of Peter Davison in conversation with William Hartnell and William Russell.
The munchkin video was around long before 2011. I was a kid in the 90s and that was a rumor that took a bunch of us kids by storm. We were all watching n trying to figure out if it was a munchkin or not.

OK! I'm not crazy, and this is no April fools joke, but there was a seagull to king Kong called son of cong!! I remember watching it. And I still remember how it ended. It ended with the island sinking in the ocean, while son of cong a white ape stood on the highest spot, and held the people above his head, saving them to be rescued by a ship. Does anyone else remember? Lol I'll never forget it. I watched them as a little boy fascinated by the giant apes. I even had nightmares about those movies.

Ghost watch! It was aired in, I think, the mid 80's. It was fronted by Michael Parkinson and purported to be a live investigation of a haunted house. It was obviously an April fools spoof, but the number of people who took it seriously and complained was incredible! It's available out there, but was never rebroadcast. Also the infamous Rainbow childrens program, which for years was touted as an unbroadcast episode but was actually a joke show reel for the cast and crews Christmas party.
I would have loved to have seen the Angry Beavers episode, but I'm sad to learn that the production was stressful on the crew. Just a follow-up on a previous comment I left you: I had the opportunity to drop a comment on a video by Steve Reviews, providing input that I'd enjoy seeing a collaboration between the two of you- but, of course, no pressure. Just feedback. He uploaded a video about the 90s Sonic cartoons, which if there's any lost media to that stuff (I think I recall learning about Sat AM lost media- the freedom fighter series), I'd love to see your take on Sonic.

Probably the most famous April Fool's jokes in the world of gaming came from the magazine Electronic Gaming Monthly, and some of them actually became true to a certain extent. Examples include: - Telling players how to fight Ryu and Ken's master, Shen Long, in Street Fighter II (later versions of the game included a similar fight with Akuma, while Gouken, Ryu and Ken's actual master, made his debut in SFIV) - Sonic and Tails being unlockable characters in Super Smash Bros Melee (Sonic later being playable in Brawl and further entries in the series) - "Mushroom Kingdom Hearts", a crossover between KH and Nintendo characters, being announced for the Wii (Sora later being added to Smash Ultimate as DLC)
Pretty interesting hoaxes. I think the only ones I'd heard of before were The Wizard of Oz one, The Angry Beavers one, the King Kong vs Godzilla one and the Shazaam one.

I can't recall if it was you or DuskTillShawn who mentioned a pice of lost media for an alleged episode of Hey Arnold but, while the ne brought up in the video seemed highly unlikely to have happened (all the kids swearing at each ot&er after hearing it on Tv) I DO think there are some lost episodes out there. Thanks to DuskTillShawn's coverage, I've recently gone back and watched all 5 seasons on Hulu, every episode they offer with the exception of purposefully skipping the "Pigeonman" and "Mugged" stories. However, I remember an episode where Phoebe was trying to move to another school and her entrance was refused because they "had too many Asian students already and didn't want to perpetrate the stereotype that Asians were smart by accepting any more". I remember at the time thinking how much legal trouble the school would be in if that had happened in real life and sympathizing with Phoebe with how hurt she had felt over it, but after ×arching all 5 seasons, and even going g back to check the episodes with "Pigeon Man" and "Mugged" to make sure I din't miss any stories, this episode never came up. I bet a certain group of people who use a particular Greek symbol would have interesting opinions on the orangutan thing. Especially since a lot of them are hypocrites.)
