YES Darius. Standby time is soooo important and reviewers seem to forget it. You never use your phone nonstop getting ridiculous 8-10 hours SOT, standby drain makes up a good chunk of battery drain. Thanks for incorporating this into your test

Apple is great at optimizing iOS extremely well for their few devices, which is the reason why the iPhone 12 performed so well here. Imagine if they made an iPhone with let's say a 5000mAh battery. It would be INSANE. I've actually been thinking about switching to iOS, but the lack of customisation options and fun experimental features are stopping me. Still through, iPhones stay up to date for way longer than most other devices, plus they feel polished and pleasant to use, so we'll see about my next phone...

thanks for doing an s21 test, everyone is focused on the ultra which isn't what most peopl are interested in! I have the s20 and if I knew how about the exynous cheap is I would have never bought it. I noticed batter is aweful after 2 days way before everybody started testing in, even in normal everyday usage you can feel it. btw, mine loses 12% overnight with nothing in the background!
For me it goes to show most batteries are in a similar band, so when my phones dying I feel better to know most phones are dying roughly the same time haha
This really shows how good the hardware and software works together on the iPhone. Much smaller battery, but pretty much the best in term of battery life

for sure man,i mean i really think so but it depends on one thing,I don t know if the adaptive refresh works when you re on 60hz,it could depend on that cause when you re using the adaptive refresh rate on 120hz,the refresh goes down to around 40hz when you don t need it,so that's why it might take less battery consumption than the full time 60hz,but idk I m just saying.

It's interesting to see all the different variations of the S21 battery. I've seen it last the longest. I've seen S20 last half an hour longer. Overall it does seem to last a while tho. So that's good. The 10-120hz adaptive display is a really good power saver.
Exynos is just not as competent as the Snapdragon. In order to achieve the same level of efficiency as the SD888, the Exynos 2100 needs to drop to 58% of its maximum performance, compared to 77% for the Snapdragon. This explains the 600 single core score of the S21 here when thermal throttling. GSMArena tested this already and it really shows that Exynos is still inferior to Snapdragon, though to a much less gap compared to last year, where the Exynos is almost as good as an upper mid range chipset rather than a full-fledged Android flagship SoC.
How did you get 8 hrs of on screen time on s21? I can barely get 4 and all I do is browse and watch the occasional video. Is it because of the February update?
My s21 lost over 15% on standby overnight. I must have a faulty device. This same device was overheating and had a screen defect(dead pixels and such).
I have Samsung s20 ultra. I play always music from RUclips. Starting in the morning until evening, the battery is very Impressive. My phone is already 2 years but still the performance of the battery are nice. I would say better than Samsung s20.
Even that the iphone 12 won, it's not 100% fair as it has 60hz and has a little bit smaller screen. BUT I have to say that apple is doing great job as it has a much smaller battery than all the other phones there. And IOS helps a lot.
What are your thoughts on the curved infinity display on the s20 as opposed to the new flat screen on the S21? I feel that the infinity display helped the Samsung lineup look and feel more premium.
Exynos . Here in India battery is draining heavily. I dont know but many people are complaining about the heavy battery drain. Full charge even lasting for half a day. I'm using it. Tried optimizing all the background apps. Lets see how it works out. If it does not improve then I'm returning the phone.
sony 5 iii was the true champ of this battery drain test.. it runs 120Hz Refresh rate all the time from 100%-0% . If it runs 60 or even 90Hz it will get even better results.

I can’t understand why you’re saying that the iPhone isn’t the true winner...you’re doing a battery test, not a features test. Yes, 120hz is great and all, but if you want a phone that lasts all day you’re probably not going to want 120hz on anyway.

one thing to consider...is that your iphone 12 has a yellowish tone to the screen which will save more battery than the normal whites that other phones have.. and would like to know if you turned off the 120hz display on samsung or not.

Nothing against all these battery drain test, but is putting in an hour of 4k60 recording really realistic. I mean yeah it does show the phone's capability in terms of battery optimization but I think 15-20 mins would be enough

i have the s21 ultra and it loses 6% overnight, i do think the battery isn't good enough for a flagship

sony 5 iii was the true champ of this battery drain test.. it runs 120Hz Refresh rate all the time from 100%-0% . If it runs 60 or even 90Hz it will get even better results.
These benchmarks doesnt matter anymore.as real life usage of S21 is great with better features than others
The s21 was 53 min less than the iPhone and if you put on medium battery (no 120hz) the s21 can last over 9h

Mam S21 od 3 dni i szczerze jest ładny ale bardzo się przegrzewa i słabo trzyma bateria, przy średnim używaniu od 8:00 do 16:00 mam 32% a gdy raz włączyłem timelapse 1h to zużył 49% baterii i był tak gorący że trudno w dłoniach utrzymać.

I can’t understand why you’re saying that the iPhone isn’t the true winner...you’re doing a battery test, not a features test. Yes, 120hz is great and all, but if you want a phone that lasts all day you’re probably not going to want 120hz on anyway.
But iphone has the smallest mah batterie so its fair and iphone is the winner if iphone has the same mah batterie of phones 120 hz u Can Say that but in this situation u can not Say that

one thing to consider...is that your iphone 12 has a yellowish tone to the screen which will save more battery than the normal whites that other phones have.. and would like to know if you turned off the 120hz display on samsung or not.
at the end, Samsung when at 5% it also dimmed the brightness. I believe it might affect the test as well.
The iPhone 12 base has a yellow tint problem. Search it up.
@@Emobullymaguire im using the iphone 12... and i intentionally make the display abit more yellow to save more battery... the yellowish tint doesnt bother me at all.. and the battery life is pretty good..... I just think its not a fair comparison if Iphone 12 was using a bit of yellowish screen..than the other oled display in this test
Nothing against all these battery drain test, but is putting in an hour of 4k60 recording really realistic. I mean yeah it does show the phone's capability in terms of battery optimization but I think 15-20 mins would be enough
